This has to be one of the most user unfriendly program I’ve played with in a long time. It’s easy for you since you’ve been using it for a while. So convoluted in the way you need to do things. It’s very deep and I’m still amazed this is a free program.this does work as a VST in your daw so I’m trying to figure out how to use this so I can write beats with it in Ableton. Been playing with it the past few days and it hurts my head trying to figure out simple ish.like midi mapping. My new novation launchkey pro 3 keyboard doesn’t auto map and there isn’t a setup in the preferences.argh.
umanoid I literally started using the software this week when everyone else got it. Your keyboard does map to it . Follow the directions in this video but instead of clicking “enable” hit “learn” instead.
Ave Mcree thanks. I’ve done that. Still doesn’t map. I’m pretty good at figuring stuff out but this one is a head scratcher. I’ve tried different novation presets and the keys and pads work fine. I was trying to make use of the knobs and use them for some of the macro functions. I’ve tried adding mapping to the presets as well as starting a new map. It’s not mapping. I might need to try making a custom knob controller setting in Novation.Since you do so many product reviews and you seem to use a LOT of software I thought you might know the AKai world. Ive looked through the manual too and learn should work. Im going to keep digging. I’ll get to the bottom of this eventually.
@@AveMcree Thanks. I went back in and found the problem. in preferences under Midi and Sync i didnt have the option of control turned on. The preset was mapped all wrong since it was for another version of the novation. Have the transport working now. Next will be knobs. They don't mention this at all in the manual either. Thanks again for everything. I had a feeling it was just something dumb like this.

If Akai would of came out with this back when I was using FruityLoops heavy, I probably wouldn’t of drifted to using Maschine as my tool of choice as quick as I did. But then again, I was going through the phase of not wanting to use mouses and trackpads to make beats anymore. So I copped the Maschine MK2 that month it was released and haven’t made a beat on FL ever since.
Ian H I’m pretty sure you’ll like the Maschine once you get used to using it. You’ll find yourself focusing more on using the hardware rather than looking at the computer/laptop screen until you wanna add a plugin or vst.
People hating on a FREE DAW is so stupid.. if you don't fuck with it, don't use it.. It's free, Akai don't owe yall shit, so don't use it and stop complaing... Be grateful that we've been given such a powerful tool for free... Respect to Akai honestly, they could've easily marketed this as a competitor to maschine or serato sample, and charged anywhere from like 150 to 50 for it, and people would've bought given their reputation and brand appeal

How Do layer drum sounds... And add FX.. And Copy Midi info to a Blank track so you can assign another instrument to follow your first performance... Example Phatt baselines
Hey man need your help,I upgraded everything to 2.8,But my computer is telling me my driver has been set wrong, Man I'm stuck,Should I put another driver on top because I can't fine the damage driver. My other controllers pick up the MPC beats but my mpc live is not,embarrassing, HELP,PLEASE
If you have MPC Essentials it will load those expansions too Same if you have MPC 2.8 - but if you have the full software, there is no need to have Beats
Also have watching other videos from others but cant get it but yours are easier to follow thank keep helping me if i blow up some day ill remember you😁😁👍

Good Video, Question I noticed you assigned everything to Bank A Did you use Different Program for each sound... If chop a sample into 16 parts A1-A16... ,Should you drums be assigned to B1-B16, etc.. I like the Daw like view, I use Native Instrument Machine.. Sampler is Amazing.. The Scenes and Arrangements section is Okay. For example with Machine your lock with 1 overall Tempo.. I use to own the MPC 2000 , got tired of floppy. But each sequence can have a different temple... Along with song mode Can program a song Quick..
i am unable to use my pads for live looping or to record samples. even if i follow the enable thing mentioned in this video. want to learn more about it. love

I've watched a couple of your videos now, good stuff. there's not enough information out there on how to do specific things. something I'm trying to do is fade in and fade out the chops. But how do I set the start and end points for the fade ins and fade outs? The main reason, and this is a tip for anybody who's new, you can put a really short fade in, I'm talking about milliseconds, at the beginning of your chop to eliminate the click that comes from not getting the chop exactly perfect on the wave. anyway, that's what I'm after. appreciate ya

Then you did no reading about the beats software at all. MPC beats has a limit of 8 tracks. While the MPC software has a limit of 128 tracks!

@ the 8 min section, I believe you can go to program editor after you chop the samples, choose all and time warp the samples in one go.
