    Interesting work. I have been experimenting with Danish oil instead of shellac. The oil gives that 1960s Danish furniture finish.

      oils are good, they do have drawbacks though

    Hi, Looking great so far. On the strength of your review I have just ordered this as my first wooden ship model. I used to build and fly balsa RC planes back in the 1990s so hope that experience and your videos series will help me be successful.
    Best wishes.

    I really love your videos! They are so interesting to watch (even though I know nothing about ship modeling). Also, could you maybe make HMS Fly (1776) model in the future?

    Hi Tagliamare, nice videa, thank you. What do you think about Harold Hahn‘s method? Btw the radio in the background is a nice touch. Shall try the shelack next time, looks nice. Take care!

      Hi! Thank you for the comment! I’ve never used Hahn’s method, but I think it might over complicate things for such a model. For arsenal model ship it’s a totally different story

      Sorry, one more question: what colour of shellack do you use? Colourless or blonde? Thank you in advance!

    • @Tagliamare
      @Tagliamare  29 дней назад

      @robertsuffak813 yeah no problem, I use the blonde one which gives a yellowish warm shade. But colourless is also good if you want to keep the original color temperature of the wood.
      Cheers

    Un forrado del casco perfectamente hecho, donde todas las tracas que pasan por la cuaderna maestra llegan a la proa, terminando en la roda, como ha de ser.
