    A great video passing on the knowledge on the process of building boats from scratch not using kits, I'm new to this hobby & am trying to learn the techniques & how to read boat plans to transfer them into models with wood. Wooden kits I find can be expensive & if you can't correct any mistakes can be a very expensive mistake so my thinking is why not just start from plans & learn how to build from them as shipwrights do with full sized boats. I've been searching for videos like this & not come across many who don't send off plans to be professionally cut or use kits. Thank you for sharing your hobby.

    2 questions if I may.
    1st, where do you get your drawings? And how do you determine the scale you want to build to?
    2nd. How much time do you devote per day to building your beautiful ships.
    Thanks.

      1. Scale 1:65. It's Common scale, I keep for all Model allow for exact Comparison.
      2. Drawings : From various special publications and since i am mainly interested on Austrian Ships, from the Kriegarchive Vienna.
      3. Quite Different, sometimes 5 or 6 Hours per day, and after no work over week.

      The name "Carolina" was quite often been used. The model I built shows the SMS CAROLINA, an frigate built in Venice and taken by the kk Austrian Navy. Became famous as sent on an expedition to China

    Der nette Herr im Video spricht deutsch, deswegen verfasse ich ebenso den Kommentar. Bei der Leidenschaft dieses Modellbauers überkommt es mich auch anhand der Videos mich im Modellbau zu versuchen. Nun die Große Frage. Wo bekomme ich denn die exakten Baupläne, wie hier im Video verwendet?
    Könnt ihr hier Bezugsquellen nennen? :)

    • @user-pk3uv9ny8r
      @user-pk3uv9ny8r 6 месяцев назад

      Die Pläne wie hier verwendet verlangen große Erfahrung; für den Anfang würde ich eines der Bücher "Anatomie of Ships" empfehlen. Aus dieser Serie gibt es z.B. die HMS Bounty auch in Deutsch. Oder für ganz am Anfang einen fertigen Bausatz, der auch das Problem der Materialbeschaffung löst

      What the heck are you talking about? Do you know how many frames go into a ship this size?!?! Doing this kind of stuff is like a factory pipeline. If he wants to get a video out for that day, he’s going to take shots of various different frames in various different states. The video is to show the craft. It’s not a CSI video meant to be used in a court of law...
