    Кто-то из знаменитостей говорил, что настоящие моряки закончились когда перестали ходить на парусах. Но настоящие моделисты никогда не закончатся пока строятся такие красивые и точные модели кораблей. Я пока решил сделать парусник из картона, т.е. иду от простого к сложному. А Вам ,Ольха, успехов в новых сложных моделях!

    • @Уоми
      @Уоми 5 месяцев назад

      Не думаю , что парусник из картона - это просто . Гляньте выкройки из польского "Shipyard". Там ещё и рангоут можно делать из бумаги .

    No please, I have enough projects going on! I have a similar ship, USS Constellation, where I had finished the hull and deck. I never finished the rigging because I was living in Italy at the time and I would need to get it back to the states in one piece. This was my first and only model ship and it's still in the box I shipped it back in. The story of my life, I picked an easy one...LOL. When I opened the box i was surprised by the number of wood strips and small pieces. The kit requires thinking ahead 2 to 3 steps, to be successful. It's like putting a puzzle together. You just have to make the pieces. That was 20 years ago...lol. Thank you :)

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  2 года назад

      Rigging is the most interesting. So I do research for this ship, calculate masting and rigging. Because this kit does not have it...

    I worked on my Confederacy to about 65% completion. I wish I would have seen this video before I started my build.
    It would have made the project easier and less work for a better end product. Having been exposed to this kit makes
    me appreciate your skill and methodology even more. The presentation itself is, IMHO, much better and professional than the average YT material.

    That is a painstakingly involved process if I've ever seen one, with every piece hand-fit and tailored to the segment in the frame. We'll have invent a miniature steaming device just for the longer ribs to accommodate the sheer as the timbers merge into the ribs. You never fail to surpass all your earlier efforts in the past, though your own creativity in approaching each of these projects overwhelms me. An Artisan of the highest order would be sorely pressed to match your affinity for the craft. Its beautiful my skilled friend. One of your best as far as my own humble opinion.

    You probably already know this, but I'd like to give you this tip.
    The best invention I've come across in recent years.
    Bicarbonate of soda and super glue.
    Hard as stone, but sandable.
    Dry in 1.5 seconds.
    Pour more bicarb add another drop... endlessly adaptable

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  2 года назад

      Yes I know this trick! I use it only in cases where PVA does not work. For example, glue metal to wood, etc. If you use only CA on such a big hull - cataracts will be guaranteed! This is a very toxic glue, but it is also impossible to build without it completely, especially when installing the rigging...

    Hermoso modelo de navío de línea. Me dediqué al modelismo naval durante años, en los ratos libres que me dejaba mi profesión. Construí varios modelos: un galeón veneciano del SXVI, el navío de línea español "La santísima madre", el barco de guerra francés "La Couronne", uno de los más difíciles por los detalles y otros de menor importancia. Se requiere investigación, mucho trabajo y mucha paciencia para llevar a feliz término esta tarea tan difícil como agradable. ¿El premio? Poseer una pieza de museo digna de admiración.

    Olha, I just finished a total restoration of a 1957 tractor. Every nut and bolt. Now I can spend time on my ships again. Which brought me back to you. Please tell me why you consider this ship difficult? Your skill set is vast. Wood is wood. Not being negative! Want to understand. I do not have this kit. Yet. Added: now I remember this kit! It is Admiralty! Many parts. Model Shipways.

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  3 года назад +1

      I can imagine how many nuts you have to tighten ...
      This model is very large and quite heavy - so the difficulty depends not only on the number of parts, but also on the difficult manipulation of the model. It takes a lot of time to turn from the left side to the right side or vice versa and it should be done very carefully so as not to touch or break anything - especially the stern parts...

    • @killerkane1957
      @killerkane1957 3 года назад +1

      @@OlhaBatchvarov - not just tighten but organized, bead-blast, prime, paint. And of course each bolt is original and head stamped. Every seal and bearing. Total disassemble. As challenging as an auto restoration. I realizes that when done! Thank you for your reply. Your work is so beautiful, organized, and efficient! Despite my decades of work, I always see a better way while watching your efforts! Amazing! God Bless.

    I have tried making (much less complex) models like these and the amount of patience required cannot be overstated. How long do you work at a time? How do you avoid neck and eye strain?

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  3 года назад +10

      When I work with models my eyes rest and I have a very comfortable chair. I'm in the workshop every day, but there's also my photo studio where I take and edit photos and videos - so my working day in the workshop from early morning to late evening is about 10-12 hours a day between cleaning, washing and cooking and without days off)))
