      @@denisv4385 Yes, this is Castello Boxwood. I love both of these types of wood. Although boxwood is harder, it gives good carving, and the pear is easy to chip and you have to very "gently" cut figures out of it. The rest of the work with these types of wood is about the same...

    I'm jealous of that gorgeous basswood.
    I like using brass wire for temporary construction pins. I can size it the intended treenails in final assembly, and the glue is more likely to let go to need .And, I love how the bearding line is "built in" rather than some sort of sloppy assembly with a plank (as too many kits want)
    I will use my 0.5m mechanical pencil with 2B lead, and sand it to a chisel edge for very fin marking (I used to use 6H or 8H 1.5m lead in a mechanical pencil and fine point it with my kohinor rotary sharpener [O the things we learned in "board drafting" days . . . ], haven been able to source those extra-hard pencil leads in a great while now, sadly).

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  Год назад +1

      Thank you very much!
      On the contrary, I prefer soft pencil leadі - they do not damage the wood and they are better suited for prints...

    Thank you. As a beginner I’ve learnt so much. My top tip for sanding is to use lolly sticks with the sandpaper stuck to them. Cut them to size and shape for difficult areas; cut the sand paper a little wider than the stick and you get a 90 degree sanding edge. Also the stick will bend allowing fine adjustment of pressure. Thanks again. Subscribed.
