I am absolutely addicted to your page now. I been watching for awhile. I will not buy any small appliance without checking out your reviews, Thank you so much for making this old ladies online shopping so much easier.
I ordered a Gariic Press which looks a bit like a pastry knife for cutting in shortening when making pie crust, the garlic press works, however if the clove is thicker, it is better to cut it in slices. I have a garlic grater dish, and that works. I also have the garlic press which is the little basket you load up and looks something like a pliers. That works too. If one has arthritis, the most comfortable is the garlic grater dish and it is easiest to get it clean too. The disadvantage of that is that although you can put it in the dishwasher, the edges of the dish are easily chipped.
I have a garlic peeler like that (2 for $1.00 @ $ Tree). It's ok if there's a lot of garlic to peel & small pieces kind of get lost in it. Best way to peel garlic is just whack it with your knife. Peels & crushes at the same time🎈
My gosh I love this Channel I will say. I'm a new subscriber and I'm enjoying all your videos. I've just looked at my pillow that's the first one and now this garlic master review. Thank you for buying all these products and helping usDecide whether we should buy it or not. Take care, Carrie
I wish I saw this before I bought the gadget, I tried it once and never again, it's faster chopping garlic the old fashioned way-the knife and chopping board :-) Less to clean too
With my arthritis there’s no way I could use this. Also this is the first time I’m watching this and it’s older. Wonder why I wasn’t notified of this video from RUclips?
Totally agree, not worth the expense. I was sold it at the UK Ideal Home Exhibition (back in the day), based on the notion that it could be used like a pepper grinder, in that you could dispense fresh Garlic at the twist of the handle. It'll come as no supersize that this hasn't happened and that it has sat in the cupboard for many years unused. Has now gone in the bin.
The biggest pain for me is getting all of the garlic out of the cutting grate when you’re done. What we need is a block with pins that match the holes in the grate. One push of the block and all of the holes get cleaned at once. One at a time with a toothpick takes forever!
The best way I have found to peel garlic is to put the whole head in a container with a lid and shake separate skin from cloves put the cloves back into the container and shake to peel works with one clove or a whole head
With a slight redesign this could be useful, if it had a cap to cover the base, and a bit higher capacity. Then with a few turns you could measure out garlic as needed, then put the cap on the base and place the thing in the fridge till need next time. But as is a regular garlic press is more practical and quicker!
I'm not much of a chef, altho I love me fresh garlic. I enjoy the aroma most of all, so that should be said, same with onions. I got a regular press today and decided to do some research after the fact. I'm happy with what I have, altho I'd really love to have that peeler tool by itself without the contraption. :)
And with a garlic press, also called a garlic masher, you don't have to skin the garlic prior to squeezing it. After the squeeze you just remove the skins, reload and squeeze again. Much easier.
The biggest benefit I can see about this (vs a traditional garlic press) is that it leaves it more ‘cubed’ than ‘mushed’. With that being said, this is a unitasker that serves as a solution to something that’s not a problem.
Perfectly stated. I suppose if those perfect cubes were a must, this could be ideal. Otherwise, like you said, it seems to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
I just tried to use mine for the first time and no garlic. About 30 turns and nothing but clicking sounds like the plastic was breaking. Got my garlic press out to finish the job.
Don't know how I missed this one. This is not worth the plastic it took to make it. I have really bad arthritis in my hands and have decided it's the minced garlic in the jar when I need real garlic in something. Hubby prefers to drench his food with Lowry's Garlic Salt so the only time I need to use it is in recipes that call for it. Generally, the little jar will go bad before I use it all, but it is so worth it for me!
Just use a garlic rocker. It's similar to a garlic press but doesn't require any hand strength, really useful for people with hand issues. Plus you never need to touch the garlic.
Purchased from Bed Bath and Beyond on clearance @ $7.49. Received one-time grace for free shipping at that price so I ordered two (two were not required by the way). It doesn't necessarily deliver 81 perfect cubes with a single twist but it is still a great product. Sure beats having the garlicky smell on my hands.
Nice presentation. However - the bad design immediately led (at least mine did so) to a destruction of the cutting portion as soon as i tried to use it. The problem is: There must be an additional metal plate between the grid and the rotating blade bc the cutting blade is meant to turn downwards as it discovers pressure. Without a metal plate it will cut into the plastic holding the grid, lock itself and - when the Garlic Master is forcibly turned further - will break out of its seat, destroying it and so the whole thing.
I ordered one online and could not use it. It is such a struggle to get one garlic crushed. It is very upsetting! On the site demonstration, it looks really easy to use. They do not show any reviews, because they know customers won't be happy with the product.
to peel garlic easy just put in big container, make sure it have a bit of space and shake it hard,. it works every-time , the only problem once you peel the garlic for some reason it will go bad fast
I am soooo glad that I inquired about the garlic master. I thought I was alone on this one. The only thing I found useful was the garlic peeler. Can believe they put this on the market. I am throwing my out and keeping the garlic peeler.
I have used the garlic master and it works wonderfully for those who are making small meals or one batch of salad dressing. Cleaning is a lot easier if you follow the directions and take it completely apart.
the garlic doesn't need to be peeled, and even if it did and you didn't want to get your hands dirty, you can get the same thing for a few cents at the hardware store, it is called ducktape. Wrap it on a dowel with adhesive out, then another layer adhesive in.
such a pain to clean! The standard garlic press (I have the one you showed) is simple, will do 3-4 cloves at once and super easy to clean ! The garlic skin remover however has been a staple in my kitchen for years.... My thoughts? Buy a skin removal tool (Cheap) and use the garlic press shown! Thanks for the reviews I always trust your judgment
It looks like the clear cover is still attach to the part that looks like a brush. Shouldn't that cap be remove? Maybe that's why the garlic is not getting grounded fast enough???
It looks like there's some kind of plastic cover on the end of the plunger that prevent the grid on the end of the plunger from pushing the last cubes through the grate. Did you remove the cover?
Great vid. I agree that first garlic thing way to much work. No way i want one. Ty so much for vid review. Have u found a garlic mincer thats easy to use yet?
I brought the Genius Garlic Cutter which looks exactly the same as the Garluc Master you are reviewing also an as seen on TV branded product. I suspect made in same factory. It does have some fingers that do push through the cutter to remove the excess garlic out if turned the correct way. Wonder why yours sid not do this. The Genius Garlic Cutter does work best with one or 2 cloves. Also you should not have to twist it allot because it starts at the top of the garlic level inside. 1. Also the grate and blade both come off easily and a dish brush will clean them easily. You failed to show these steps. 2. It also comes with a cup that fits on bottom, with lid, so you can catch the garlic and store left over in fridge. 3. It also comes with an extra mini mandoli slicer to cut slices of garlic. 3.And it has the same peeler tube too. For what it is it works well when you know who to use it. I like mine.
you can buy pre-shredded garlic from costco. it is better and you just scoop it out with a spoon. not very expensive, and literally zero work required.
hi ... kinda off-topic, but could you test the Hydralight water powered flashlight? Looks really interesting on the commercial. $29.95 + $6.95 s+p . Thanks!
Garlic PSA: find the nearest Indian grocery store - they sell pre-chopped, raw garlic in jars - just store it in your fridge & use as much as you need any time you need it - biggest time saver ever!
It is a nice and simple tool for a single person. If you enjoy freash cube garlic on a Salad, Home made oils and my favorite Garlic Pasta it works. Remember, a lot of kitchen gadgets allow you to simply have fun in the kitchen. If you have a family or in a hurry, the garlic press is much faster. JUST THINK OF KITCHEN GADGETS AS TOYS. otherwise, not always a benefit.
Ok...James I asked u maybe 4-6 months ago to review this item, and with NO fault to u of course... but I waited patiently for nothing!! Lol. The only ok thing about the garlic press is the free garlic skin peel thingy. LMBO. I will not be buying this at all. You'll likely suffer a fratured finger from twisting the dang Garlic Master. Wow. Well thanks again James for another great review.
Hey Latasha, I do remember you asking about this, but it took me this long to finally find it! I was disappointed that it takes so many turns before any garlic comes out. It wasn't quite what I expected.
I bought 3 of these, one for me and 2 for friends. I cannot get mine to work at all, and little bits of plastic have fallen out, and I don’t see where to put them back! The instructions are not helping either! How can I get my money back?
It takes longer than 20 seconds to chop a single clove of garlic with a knife. I use garlic a lot in my cooking and this product looks like it would save a lot of time.
U have to remember that not everyone has strong enough hands to be able to use a garlic press. I think the Garlic Master is good for people with painful or weak hands.
I agree.. I have one of the best garlic presses that I've had for decades and even tho' I have used the jar minced garlic, I prefer fresh garlic pressed through my trusty garlic press !
it like a garlic press but with ten times the effort
Hah yep! That's "progress" but in the wrong direction.
I am absolutely addicted to your page now. I been watching for awhile. I will not buy any small appliance without checking out your reviews, Thank you so much for making this old ladies online shopping so much easier.
Thats garbage, can do so much faster with a processor or a masher like you said , thanks for showing us what NOT to buy 😀
Pyroman / are you can just buy a jar of it pre cut. I have a jar of it in my refrigerator right now.
Just use a sturdy fork and your cutting board, that's how I mash garlic and it works a treat.
Or you can understand that some people can't use a knife due to motor skill issues.
If your in a hurry, you are absolutely correct. Not garbage, simply does not fit your lifestyle.
What if you don't want it mashed???
It's amazing how many TV kitchen products are easily out performed by a chef's knife.
The rubber peelers are the bomb! Just get a peeler for your kitchen. A must have! I have one and use it constantly!
Thanks - was looking at a lot of negative reviews about this, and yours confirms the problems with its design.

I first was a bit sceptical about this channel, but the more videos I watched, the more I started to enjoy them. Keep busting those ads!!!

I have used something like it before. I think they called it a knife. It was a lot faster, cheaper, and I could use it for many things!
I’ll bet Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook) could chop dozens of garlic cloves into perfect little coffin shapes in that twenty seconds! LOL
Great review, absolutely rubbish product 😢
All of this stuff doesn't even exist in Australia yet I still watch these videos. Interesting videos thanks for doing it.
My gosh I love this Channel I will say. I'm a new subscriber and I'm enjoying all your videos. I've just looked at my pillow that's the first one and now this garlic master review. Thank you for buying all these products and helping usDecide whether we should buy it or not. Take care, Carrie
Hi Carrie, and I really appreciate you watching and commenting!
1 clove. FR: About enough for a salad.
10 cloves. Me: Now _thats_ enough for a salad
Thanks for your review. I had ordered a couple of HSN and hadn't used them. They're going back!
Thanks for an unbiased review. I use loads of garlic so will give it a shot and do 6 at a time 👍
You must have bought the smallest garlic cloves available lol,
Besides me poking at you
I love to watch your RUclips channel keep up the good work !
Looks like a Great product for wrist strengthening !!
Unfortunately , I watched this too late ...
I wish I saw this before I bought the gadget, I tried it once and never again, it's faster chopping garlic the old fashioned way-the knife and chopping board :-) Less to clean too
Awesome review. I know the perfect spot for the Garlic Master.... The recycle bin.
Thanks for doing these reviews. They're very helpful!
With my arthritis there’s no way I could use this. Also this is the first time I’m watching this and it’s older. Wonder why I wasn’t notified of this video from RUclips?
Thank you for the extensive review
WAY TOO MUCH WORK‼️ Sticking to my garlic press😋
💜💙💚💛🧡❤

Thanks for this demo, I knew it was to good to be true!! JUNK!
I use a Slap Chop knockoff for mincing garlic. The pieces are not quite so uniform, but for most applications it does not matter one bit.
i'm so rolling my eyes. another great review....tx!
So many complex parts assembled for such a simple food prep skill 😦
I could dice an entire head of garlic in the time it takes that thing to do one
You know what's even more efficient? Jars of minced garlic. I don't care what anyone says, it's just as good to me as fresh.
Got to love when commercials do stuff specifically against the instructions...

A classic example of someone trying to reinvent the wheel

Who need perfect garlic cubes anyway??? Once it's in a dish, it disappears and the flavor is what's important.

I love gatlic..I just eat them whole lol...As far as taking the skin off put in jar and shake..
I could have minced a couple of garlic cloves by hand by the time you did one garlic clove. This is good for exercising your wrist!
excellent!
to peel garlic easy just put in big container, make sure it have a bit of space and shake it hard,. it works every-time , the only problem once you peel the garlic for some reason it will go bad fast
I'm struggling to imagine a situation where you'd want tiny cubes of garlic instead of sliced or crushed.
That swivel action tho..
I am soooo glad that I inquired about the garlic master. I thought I was alone on this one. The only thing I found useful was the garlic peeler. Can believe they put this on the market. I am throwing my out and keeping the garlic peeler.

Thanks for the demo, I received the garlic master due to my father in law has arthritis and he literally threw it away to my house. 😅
Thanks for the review. I bought one for $2 at a yard sale. Oops.. hahaa
We eat so much garlic, I just buy already minced garlic😂😂Thanks for the review😃
It looks like the clear cover is still attach to the part that looks like a brush. Shouldn't that cap be remove? Maybe that's why the garlic is not getting grounded fast enough???

JB Weld a drill bit adapter on it. Turn it in to a powered garlic press.
Fun fact: same thing is sold in Europe under the name Delimano Brava Garlic Cutter
I can chop garlic just as fast with my knife.
This guy should be a infomercial rep. If he turned from honest to paid to "care" he could be a decent rep for very non-decent products.
You know what Alton Brown would say...
GrayMatter Unitasker!
Bummer
Looked like a cool product.
Thanks! You've showcased yet another product that I now know not to buy. 😀
I stick to my dicer thank you very much!
Why would u want perfect garlic cubes?? Does is really make a difference if they r not perfect or even cubes??
I just subscribed and binge watch a bunch of your videos. Loved them!!!
Hey I appreciate it!!
Great vid. I agree that first garlic thing way to much work. No way i want one.
Ty so much for vid review.
Have u found a garlic mincer thats easy to use yet?
So far I haven't found anything better than a cheap, old school garlic press!

More work washing than just chopping with a knife.
I came to the same conclusion. The garlic peeler works very well.
hi ... kinda off-topic, but could you test the Hydralight water powered flashlight? Looks really interesting on the commercial. $29.95 + $6.95 s+p . Thanks!
I definitely want to try that one.
You seem like a great guy
Thanks for this, you saved me money...I will just stick with a press or dicing garlic myself with a knife!!!
Small sink brush to clean the little squares

ya but the garlic they sell from Indian grocery store are from China.
They sell garlic in a jar at every single grocery store
Lol 😂 it's raining garlic!
I can't believe they recommend you only use one clove at a time.

I have this new tool that has changed my kitchen life. I'm sure it could change the way you cook food and work in the kitchen. it's called a knife

No hay como el crank shop, yo lo tengo y me muele vien el ajo la cebolla y el tomate y el chile....se los recomiendo..😉
Too much wrist action, thanks for the review, almost bought one👍
Thanks for sharing! I have this product and I am not pleased with that at all. I wish I watched this video before I bought it.
