So you're saying overall you prefer 5X for normal downhill but prefer the G3Rs for park and downhill freeride? Edge catch mechanics work differently on the 5X some way? Catch you off guard for some reason? Those butter combos look sweet for sure tho.
he just says that because he never really tried the 5X in a park ! :D
but ok... maybe in his downhill freestyle, Quentin needs a little more responsiveness under his edges.
the springs are sometimes surprising when you crush them hard, because there is a rebound effect.
but I think it's mostly a matter of habit.
my overall feeling is that this setup remains very safe, even for committed downhill.
Thx Daniel! I am saying that it's totally different from a classic freebord and can bring something new in your downhill/butters. Edge catch is pretty similar. I'll take the time to go ride it in a Park+ street spots, but I think it's a bit heavy for what I do with a classic freebord.
Oh, thanks for the thorough review. I'm curious about how it handles more speed and parks. Unfortunately it's not available for me (Brazil) but I'd love to have one.

The 5X assembly instructions say to assemble with the star logo facing the center of the deck. But your board seems different. Which is better?
I think the better is the opposite of the 5X assembly instructions if you want to avoid chattering issue ;)

Yep they are nice ! I actually never saw them in Europe... Only in USA

Of course because freebord is the origin of the sport and works with Gravity as a snowboard
Snowboard has no engine 😉
And the 5x tech is unique and closer to Snowboard feeling
