Hi Kurtis, I'm pretty sure the creepy Ringleader man says, "People like their human cannonballs with skin". This refers to a common sideshow attraction that used to be a "human cannonball", when a guy was put in a funny-looking canon and shot at a net or something. I believe the point of this scene was to highlight that most of the spectators at a circus would be put off by a man with no skin being shot out of a funny canon. I hope this helps!

To those who are still seeking, still questioning, still not sure about their faith, here's an invitation. Understand that we, as humans, are limited. We often make mistakes, go astray, and lose our way. It's not about perfection; no one is. As it is stated in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Recognize that actions alone won't bring ultimate salvation. It's not about counting good deeds against the bad. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Believe in the transformative power of love and forgiveness embodied in Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so we could find ours. The Bible states in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." True change and enlightenment come when we turn away from our old life and towards a new one - one guided by compassion, love, and humility. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." Express your faith, not only in words but also in actions. Embrace love, kindness, and righteousness, just like how Jesus lived His life. As Romans 10:9 suggests, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Consider baptism, a symbolic gesture of your new journey, your decision to leave the old behind, and embark on a new life in Him. Matthew 28:19 encourages us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Lastly, remain steadfast. Consistency in following Jesus and His teachings is the key. As Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commands." This is not a demand but a warm invitation. An invitation to explore, to understand, and to experience a love that transcends human comprehension. A love that saves, heals, and brings life.
If i can recall correctly, the reason why he was always decked out in gear was that he knew kids looked up to him, so he wanted to be a good role model and promote safety.
I got bullied into not learning to skate or even ride a bike bc of how "lame" it is to wear safety gear. Huge maturity of Tony to always be seen wearing his safety gear
Especially important to wear safety gear while learning to do something like skateboard. *Especially* a helmet. I've seen people say that they don't need to wear a helmet while riding a bike because they're super good at it, but it only takes one bad fall to leave you with a concussion (or worse).
@@northstarjakobs Even when you do wear a helmet things can happen. Look at Scotty Cranmer. He was wearing a helmet; his accident paralyzed him from the neck down.
I had nowhere to skate when I was younger. When I was older, I was in a perfect neighborhood for it, and I bought a board and safety gear. But I was too afraid that the younger kids on the street would hassle me about it so I never even tried.
My partner used to skateboard before developing health problems. She not only admires that Tony is very proactive about safety gear, especially as he gets older, she's told me that the first thing you learn in skateboarding is how to fall down a certain way to minimize injury.
the sketch at 13:59 is actually a pretty watered down synopsis of r.l. stine’s “say cheese and die”. a camera that can predict future events was the entire plot of those goosebumps books, and the book plots were similar to the episode “a most unusual camera” of rod sterling’s “the twilight zone” where a camera showed the immediate future of the subject in photographs (tying that in because stine has said he was a big fan of the show and a lot of his work was inspired by sterling).
Tony Hawk's response to being kidnapped is "you must be the freak of the week" and now I want a Scooby Doo style mystery show where Tony Hawk keeps getting kidnapped

And coincidentally every single person on the planet happens to be familiar with him despite him being irrelevant for 20 years and can also recognize that this "Anthony" looks just like Tony Hawk, and that every single place Tony Hawk ever goes in his life he just happens to run into someone who has to comment that he looks like Tony Hawk. It's so crazy that that doesn't happen to any other celebrity.
A celebrity is where everywhjere you go people recognise you whereas Tony Hawk just has people tell him he looks like Tony Hawk. Ergo he's just a chill guy everyone knows about
watching the skit where Kurtis is acting as Tony Hawk in bed talking about his bean-bag-ballsacks is 10x’s more funny knowing Tony Hawk and his family members have watched this video
So glad they made this movie actually, the "Tony Hawk face down on the floor like he's dead" really convey the emotion for when you're so fucking tired about something, adding it to my reaction image folder immediately
Mine was the apology before the sketch. I literally thought "kurtis is really going to show an unrelated sketch huh..." than he said that and I died. 💀
That's not breaking the fourth wall. Breaking the 4th wall is when someone in a scene addresses the audience directly either by speaking to the camera or a live audience.
I thought he said "he provides their human cannibals with skin" as in there's another circus and the only reason ringleader can sustain cannibals in their circus is because they feed them skin.
kurtis I have had 7 drinks tonight and the SECOND you showed clips of the notebook i left the video and watched the notebook im so sorry. love you. i’ll like the video to compensate
i want you to know I watched this movie when i was a young kid (I'm 18) and it was my first and ONLY encounter with tony hawk content in my life. no video games, no videos, i don't skate; only boom boom sabotage
I watched this movie so much as a kid, “people like their human cannon balls with skin” was such a quotable line because he was trying to get everyone together and it was a full on ringmaster moment!
@@tentardigrades968 noooo he was concerned for the patrons of the circus! As they would surely all scream and run if they saw a skinless human cannonball!
Oh, I get it now. From the video, I could tell he said “human cannonballs,” but at first I thought he was warning patrons to “keep right” to stay out of the way of the skaters, and I thought he was referring to them as “human cannonballs with skin” because “human wrecking balls” is a bit of a cliched term. At least I think I get it now. The human cannonball was a stunt performer at the circus a long time ago. (Actually, I think it was an illusion, but it doesn’t matter.) So the line is saying that customers don’t actually want to see stunt performers get maimed and mutilated. “People (viewers) like [to see] their human cannonballs (stunt performers) with skin (unharmed),” and the “with skin” part is specific to skaters because scraping a bunch of skin off is one of the most common injuries from skating.
Goosebumps actually had not one, but *two* books (one of which was adapted into an episode of the Goosebumps television show) about a camera that could see into the future! One was called Say Cheese and Die and its sequel was called Say Cheese and Die Again. R.L. Stine was truly a genius at naming things
This almost makes me want to go back and read all of my favorite Goosebumps books lol. It was about 14 years ago, but I distinctly remember the part in the book where the kid saw a picture of his foot with a rusty nail all the way through it. I can see images in my head really well, so the picture I imagined burned itself into my memory, and I can still imagine it all this time later. It wasn't scary to me or anything, I was just like "lol that's wild" and never forgot about it lol.
8:14 “People like their human cannonballs with skin” I believe he is referring to the daredevils who are often shot out of cannons at the circus. Specifically how an audience prefers them with their bodies intact. Hope this helps!
Kurtis, blink twice if you were actually kidnapped and forced to make this video! We promise we’ll keep the skateboarding montages to a minimum when all of Kurtistown comes to rescue you

I don`t understand how kurtis keep finding the most cursed animations any human could ever conceptualize. I think this is exaclty what my nightmares look like when I take too much cold medicine.
I have a feeling this was produced at least partially within Canada because this used to air now and then on one of our kids' channels back in the 2000s. I distinctly remember seeing promos for it and thinking it looked like absolute trash and wanting nothing to do with it.
I remember a baffling, long, non-skippable ad for this movie being the pre-menu trailer on an anime box set I once owned. Usually, the only ads there were for other anime. I don’t know what distribution deal forced Funimation to advertise Boom Boom Sabotage on my Yu Yu Hakusho DVDs, but that’s the only reason i knew this movie even existed.
all jokes aside, the animations while they're skateboarding are actually pretty fluid and accurate. I imagine that's where most of the passion went in creating this.
This movie got me into skating. 100% true story. Been skateboarding ever since. I grew up in the Midwest, I thought you could only skate in California on big vert ramps. This sick cartoon made my 9 yo brain realize you could skate in the Midwest on flat ground. Thank you Tony Hawk Boom Boom Sabotage.
@@sethreign8103 Also he wasn't saying it was impressive, he was saying this motivated him to try skateboard. How does you doing that before kindergarten relate in any way, and how is it about times lmao it's just 2 different situations. You grew up skateboarding he didn't

I felt like i was being held at gunpoint watching the clips of the movie and it was only seconds, I can't imagine the pain you went through to bring us this.
Honestly this movie is too unhinged to be called bad, or good for that matter. All I know is we need more movies like this. The sheer insanity is exhilarating.
Honestly, a movie about Skateboarders with a camera that can capture events before they happen sounds like another Tony Hawk film they could spend 900 dollars on making
i rewatched that clip like 5 times i cant believe someone wrote that in the script and thought it was perfect: "smells like pee-pee and poo-poo in here" "its gotta be tony" "no seriously, why does it smell like caca and wee-whiz in here?" AND TONY LOOKS GUILTY TOO 😭😭😭
i mean. from what i understand tony hawk always using safety gear helped younger kids to not see them as "uncool". in the long run i'd be willing to bet that saved a good number of lives
My grandmother's favorite story, she constantly tells, is the one time she went to Hawaii for a vacation and Tony Hawk walked up to her on a beach asking her for a cigarette. He did not have a skateboard unfortunately, but now every time either cigarettes or Tony Hawk got brought up in conversation, so did that story.
fun fact: (i thought i recognized the voice when she said "i hope he's okay") the girl who voices kit also voices the blue mermaid in barbie mermaidia. so there's two barbie voice actors in this movie, a special treat 🎉
13:36 Actually, there’s a Twilight Zone episode about that premise. These robbers steal a camera that takes pictures of something, but it shows what’s about to happen. Literally what we just saw, but a black and white photo instead
the sketch at 14:34 is actually a real movie!! it's called "beyond the infinite two minutes" and its about a group of friends who figure out that one of their computer monitors shows two minutes into the future. it was filmed on an iphone and the entire movie is one take! it's super cool and awesome
Also why would you risk the integrity of your elbow, knee or other joints? Especially if sports is your job. It feels so 2000s to make fun of safety gear.
@@Shirumoon true. I used to go to parkour classes and it only took one tibia hit for me to rush to buy protective socks (a large strip of skin almost completely detached but because it was 'almost' I could still feel the pain in it which was super weird). I bet Hawk hurt himself too much while wearing safety gear to even consider skating without. Wear safety gear, and always stretch before sports. Or you'll learn the hard way.
That crying baby SE @ 3:42 TORTURED my memory cuz I KNEW I'd heard it before. I think it's the same as the one in the UK show Misfits from E3, from the episode where this baby with powers mind-fks Nathan and only he can hear him crying... I can be VERY neurotic... haha
Let’s not rip Tony Hawk got putting on protective equipment. He’s sensible and a good role model for people to look out for there safety while doing such a risky/dangerous extreme sport.
This video had such an impact on Tony Hawk that even a year later he could instantly say it was Kurtis Conner who got this back to limelight, as mentioned in yesterday's Anthony Padilla's I Spent a Day With episode.
For a mid 2000s animated movie with incredibly dated CGI, i actually dig some of the character designs, some of the voice acting is not all that bad and the way the characters' faces are rendered is surprisingly expressive. There was some level of artistic proffesionality behind this. Its just kind of a shame that everything else going on in this movie is otherwise all over the place.
Yeah I've noticed that so often in not-great pieces of media that involve animation & design (like movies & video games), I can tell that certain individuals behind the scenes actually did their job pretty well. At least put a lot of effort into it. Unfortunately no one can really tell, because too many of the other pieces they weren't responsible for failed to come together...and good animated movies involve soo many pieces coming together perfectly. (And I'm not saying the other people involved put no effort in at all, usually they did but they just didn't have the ability to pull it off with the tools they had in the time they were given. Even the best artists in the world require time!) /End ramble sorry 😅
17:05 me and my brothers used to repeat this so much as kids. I had tried looking the line up from memory multiple times over the years, but could never find where it was from. I'm terrified to know that I watched this movie at some point and had no recollection of any of it.
Forgetting stuff like this isn't that weird or uncommon. You said you and your brothers were kids, yeah? Well believe it or not, the older you get, the more you forget from the past. The reason this happens is because we either took experiences for granted when we were younger, or because we learn about new things and those new memories push old ones out. Even the stuff we do remember changes slightly each time we remember them, but not like... drastically or anything. Sometimes we just look back on a memory and forget certain parts of it, so our brain fills in the gaps with something else. If anything, you should be glad to rediscover such a classic part of your childhood. Look on the bright side; I doubt you'd have an easy time forgetting this movie now!
I actually really respect Tony Hawk for always wearing safety gear whenever he’s on a skateboard. He knows he inspired kids and he wants them to know how important safety gear is

I actually think he sets a great example by wearing protective gear all the time. Also considering his audience, who are younger and also learning, which means getting hurt quite often
The original Twilight Zone series has an episode about a camera with the ability to take pictures of the future as well! It's called "A Most Unusual Camera" for anyone interested.
This movie has been lurking in the back of my brain like some sort of parasite ever since it aired. There are precious moments with my dearly departed grandmother that have been ejected from my memory banks, but the scene of one of the hillbillies drinking another one's boogers has stayed with me for literal decades.
14:09 theres actually a japanese movie that follows that exact plotline and its actually executed rly well! Its called 'beyond the infinite two minutes'
I was never unto skateboarding, mostly because I knew that I would break every bones I've ever owned if I attempted it, but I always loved that Tony wore all his safety gear all the time. He is a role model, so encouraging safe practices is really important, and he obviously doesn't care if people think it's lame because he knows it isn't
There is actually a movie about a camera that tells the future. It's called "Time Lapse"! It's low budget thriller but REALLY good, I'd definitely recommend it. It's from 2015 or 2016
At 55, Tony Hawk is STILL skateboarding, and honestly, I don't think he'd have it any other way. He's literally going to end up being one of those old surfer dudes, only on a skateboard, instead, and that's cool - he's certainly a master of his craft and has that guru energy about him. I always wanted to learn how to skateboard or surf, or snowboard, or do something X-TREME, but I'm confined to Arizona, and in the middle of a desert, so there are not a lot of places to do such things, here.

Consider baptism, a symbolic gesture of your new journey, your decision to leave the old behind, and embark on a new life in Him. Matthew 28:19 encourages us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Lastly, remain steadfast. Consistency in following Jesus and His teachings is the key. As Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commands."

@@northstarjakobsyehq my mum biked to work without a helmet and crashed onto the ground, skidding her face, left a mark to this day.

@PragmaticProsecutor Wait, that’s not a thing that happens to other people on a regular basis?
the sketch at 13:59 is actually a pretty watered down synopsis of r.l. stine’s “say cheese and die”. a camera that can predict future events was the entire plot of those goosebumps books, and the book plots were similar to the episode “a most unusual camera” of rod sterling’s “the twilight zone” where a camera showed the immediate future of the subject in photographs (tying that in because stine has said he was a big fan of the show and a lot of his work was inspired by sterling).

Believe in the transformative power of love and forgiveness embodied in Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so we could find ours. The Bible states in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Hahaha what the hell does that even mean? Was he concerned about the safety of the human cannonballs?

I thought the same thing! All the kids move like Chowder
The actual models and textures are just so subpar even for the time, but yeah the animations and design concepts are not all that bad.
Even the best artists in the world require time!)

To those who are still seeking, still questioning, still not sure about their faith, here's an invitation.
Understand that we, as humans, are limited. We often make mistakes, go astray, and lose our way. It's not about perfection; no one is. As it is stated in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Recognize that actions alone won't bring ultimate salvation. It's not about counting good deeds against the bad. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Believe in the transformative power of love and forgiveness embodied in Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so we could find ours. The Bible states in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
True change and enlightenment come when we turn away from our old life and towards a new one - one guided by compassion, love, and humility. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
Express your faith, not only in words but also in actions. Embrace love, kindness, and righteousness, just like how Jesus lived His life. As Romans 10:9 suggests, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
This is not a demand but a warm invitation. An invitation to explore, to understand, and to experience a love that transcends human comprehension. A love that saves, heals, and brings life.

The original Twilight Zone series has an episode about a camera with the ability to take pictures of the future as well! It's called "A Most Unusual Camera" for anyone interested.
theres also a few goosebumps books about it which is what i immediately thought of since i grew up obsessed with goosebumps lmao :)
