The fact pascal finished the race without a front wing in P4 is absolutely incredible, that car stayed gripped to the asphalt through Sheer determination haha
Is it incredible? It kinda exposed a bit how these cars have aesthetics-first aerodynamics. In no other open wheel series a car without a front wing is competitive at all. If anything Wehrlein lost weight and drag which helped him to be more competitive, not less...Good race by him anyway, despite the crash being his own fault.
I dunno, he definitely seemed more squirrelly around turns 10 and 11 in particular after losing the wing.
@@ObeseChess yeah he did seem to struggle a bit on the high speed corners and low speed corners

If Da costa wasn't dsq'd from Misano he would be 2nd in the championship. But tbf in his current form of winning races left and right he might as well have a title chance
I like that Pascal seemed more frustrated about the chaos and damage filled peloton style races than being pleased with his championship position. He wants the racing show to be as good as possible as the first priority. Not just being happy about benefitting because a rival had a bad weekend.
Pascal finished 4th, ahead of the Vergne on pole and only seconds behind the winner Da Costa, without a whole front wing for most of the race. Makes you wonder how necessary they really are...

I had never seen Formula E before and didn’t know anything about it - a friend got me tickets for my birthday. I was like “okay, this is pretty cool, I guess.” Seeing Pascal veer off the track to rip the rest of his front wing off and finish the race instead of retiring turned me into a fan.
3 wins in a row for Da Costa. F1 vibes. Great!!!!
That’s the second time he’s achieved that feat. Nobody’s ever won 4 in a row. Let’s see if he can break that record in London.
Doing that lengthy Formula E logo animation between each cut is such a wild thing to do

I really feel for Bird and surprised Pascal got away with that. Da Costa is on fire and it sucks it's all come so late because he would certainly be fighting for the championship otherwise. On a side note I really enjoyed the commentary team with Alan McNish and Billy Monger, might be my favourite yet.

This is the best track for these cars and the best cars for this track. Indy always looks weird here and Formula E always looks like it's trying to fit into bizarre street circuits. This is perfect, though. 💍

If DAC hadn't been disqualified for a spring that everyone was using and has 0 performance gain, he'd be in 2nd in the championship.

The best the wing does is reduce drag a bit. Doesn't really do much in terms of generating downforce
Well that was a bit of a disaster for my man Cass, but the kiwis are now 1-2 in the championship with two races to go so I can't complain.
I am a little bit worried that it is going to end in tears for both of them though.

Great for DAC but as a fan of FE since the first race these peloton style races are not good to watch. it's silly to see cars 4 wide into a corner with wings flying and punctured tyres. It's meant to be a world championship not stock car racing.
I wish I went to this one instead of the race yesterday, more action, I still had fun though
The Dtm rivalry is back! Dac and Wehrlein got destroyed by Mortara, Cas also lost his wing definitely the saddest farewell of an racetrack, it's unpredictable what's happening next, Dac attack with phenomenal sensation maximum win at Portland put him into title fight again, it's now jaguar vs Porsche completely, Frijns & techeetah go all in to be good spot in the teams championship, Weird rules let pascal finishing 4th - Cassidy with fly through the field strategy only making out 13 instead of an mighty redemption but 12 points gap in London give him possibly the title on Saturday because there is only 5% chance to overtake, the qualifying is important 🍾⚡🤩🎉🥳🏆

Ngl, I wanted to see Frijns win again. I don't know what both Envision and Frijns and Buemi are doing this season, so seeing him so close to a win was nice, yet I can't help but wonder how long his good run will last.

When you get damage front wing, you must return to the pit to replace it.

Ok can someone please tell me what happened with Buemi's race? Starts at the back, ends up in 1st on lap 6, rides around there for a bit, then ends up back in 13th-17th a few laps later
Also how did Cassidy fall from the points so quickly?
Buemi got a drive through for a technical infraction. Cassidy and a few others pitted for front wings, so a group of between 3-8 cars were saved by the SC

Really shows how good wehrlein is when he barely finishes outside the podium with no front wing for 95% of the race
Hardly, he should have been disqualified driving with his wing under his front wheels like that. In any other racing he'd have to pull over to allow others through due to that kind of damage. x:x
Every time I see Pascal it pains me so much that he is not in Formula 1. One of the greatest travesty of Formula 1. He was a phenomenal driver who could get the best out of back of the grid cars and scored points in 2 of them on debut. Imagine what he could do in a top three car. His career was cut short for reasons nothing to do with performance and the Powers that be then made sure he could never get in again. He belongs in F1, not FE, no disrespect to FE.
If China's fast-track EV/battery wizards were "in charge" of Formula E:
1) race cars' top speed would be raised from a gratuitously llimited 200mph to 230mph to match F1 race cars'
2) 30-45 sec pit-stop battery-swaps AND rapid battery-boost charging would enable much longer epic races on all or any of the world's top F1 race-tracks and we'd finally be able to have either a single combined F1 versus FE race series - or at the very least a once a year F1 versus FE 50 lap face-off.

had a crash with some other drivers in the first chicane so he pitted for a new frontwing. the sc pulled everyone back together but after the sc phase everyone basically went flat out, so the energy advantage didn't really help him and he could not make up enough places till the end.
