The cars sound the exact same. That should help fans better accept the new hybrid system.
If there was one change that should be considered, design the storage system to always contain a slight bit of energy at all times just for restarting the engine. It shouldn't take much energy for that specific task.

Firestone has built harder compounds for all tracks to counter the higher mass on the rear axle, but this is to due to expected increased deg. More mass on the rear equals higher normal force, therefore more grip (and higher deg as mentioned). What will be different though, is that with a heavier rear axle, the CG will now be closer to the rear, as it was in the pre-aeroscreen era, which will fit some drivers’ style better than others (overall higher power-induced oversteer and better turn-in behavior)

Not even breaking 180 mph on the long start/finish straight.Adding complexity with no extra speed, good job Indy.

These cars have never hit 180 on the straight here though. They are upper 160s not even 170 so idk what you expected

True. Nothing ever breaks on racing cars unless they have a hybrid system. Just imagine how well the series would be doing right now if they just had someone as genius as you running it all!

I mean, if you want a series with major manufacturer money, you’ve got to give them a reason to stick around and develop. I for one like this iteration of hybrid. Still making sure performance is firmly in the hands of the driver.
