With the added weight of the hybrid system, it'll be interesting to see how the tires are treated from now on, especially the alternates. They will be punished more under braking and in the turns. Rears working harder not only with the added mass but the increased power under acceleration.
We'll finally see what Firestone had designed for these tires as the call to delay the hybrid was too late for Firestone to make tires for a lighter car.

what happened to the Australian commentator?
What does "AVERAGE STARTING POS. OF RACE WINNER" mean? What is being averaged? For a given year, there is only one starting position of the race winner - his own.
It's the average of all races in one year. Not just on this track.
Or for a track the average position of the winner each year.

As a stupid British person, it does strike me as odd they would introduce new engine regs mid season, why wouldn’t they just wait til 2025?
Not stupid at all my friend. They intended to introduce this at the beginning of last season but reliability and logistics delayed it til now. Honda has/had one foot out the door so this had to be put in immediately.
