  • In this video I tested "magic" chemical free ways to clean your dirty nasty icky grimy textured plastic or fiberglass shower floor!
Bonus cleaning of a glass shower door!
Textured plastic and fiberglass shower floors have an awful ability to lock in grime, dirt and body oils taking comfort away from a space that should feel clean. So I tested a few "magic" cleaning "hacks" and found the best, least odor combination with the least effort and best result.
First method on both the textured shower floor and glass shower door.
    -Steam cleaner and hand scrubbing.
-Works best with direct blasting of steam to heat up the grime and some serious elbow grease to get the nasty cleaned up.
    PROS
    -Zero Chemicals not even vinegar
    -Creates a clean surface
    -Use a drill connected
    CONS
-elbow grease lots of high effort scrubbing needed (can be solved by getting a drill attachment scrubber)
    -time consuming
    Second method
Cover the floor in a lot of baking soda then add some old towels on top.
    1. Pour boiling water on top [boiling white vinegar tested (don't boil vinegar... just don't)]. You can also add some dish soap if you would like but honestly it did not make any difference. Stick with boiling water and be cautious.
    2. let towels cool down
    3. scrub with the towels, the better you scrub the better the results
SKIP the optional soap and vinegar spray and scrub others mention as combining soap and vinegar creates and awful smell and did not help at all instead scrub scrub scrub.
    PROS
-easy so little effort required for so much result
    CONS
    -smells
-does not work 100% on it's own. Be prepared to scrub. Always with any method be prepared to scrub or use the drill bit brush and make scrubbing easy.
(((((( With no extra work method 1 came out with a cleaner floor but method 2 was much less time consuming. With the final step both methods yielded the same result even after weeks.
The final step. Some serious scrubbing. BUT there is a way to cheat and make the scrubbing easy. DO YOUR ARMS A FAVOR and get a drill brush scrubber attachment. Use that on everything with a little bit of baking soda and water paste. ))))))
    For the shower glass
    SKIP the steam cleaner
Just use baking soda paste and a drill brush then rinse it off.
Be gentle with the glass it is glass it can break.
Remember this video is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Be careful, follow instructions and general safety guidelines when cleaning and using power tools. DO NOT use power tools in areas with high moisture. Also yes I called an impact a drill.
    Take care of yourself.

Clorox bleach will melt away all the dirt without scrubbing.

WD-40 works the best with a microfiber cloth.

Thanks for the tip. Honestly I will not be trying it. I consider wd40 harsh as it can cause nasal and respiratory irritation and almost always gives me a headache.

WD-40 is less of a respiratory irritant than vinegar or easyoff oven cleaner or Dow bathroom cleaner. I have been around WD-40 for many years. I’ve used it in customer’s offices working on office machinery too. WD-40 is probably one of the most safest things to use anywhere. If you think WD-40 is so dangerous. Then you know nothing about WD-40

@J S Well, we are all different. WD-40 gives me a headache. Vinegar does not. I've never tried easy off and don't plan to.

Imagine using that towel to dry off after that. Even if it’s washed 20 times in the washing machine, there’s no way it’ll be clean. These floors should be illegal.

I tossed the towel. I usually use an old tathered one anyway. Also, yes, they should be illegal. They are the worst

Your wasting your time, I sprayed easy off oven cleaner, let it set over night, I took boiling water the next day and poured it on. and then used a little green scrubbing pad and scrubbed for maybe 3 minutes. Rinse and done. For my shower glass I hang a clear shower curtain on the inside of the shower glass door.
