So refreshing to see such a well informed Mum making decisions that are best for you and baby! like you said, why get induced if its not medically necessary and there are so many risks to inductions! Congratulations again x

I appreciate what you said about the fear mongering around tiredness. That is something I dread and fear based on what everyone says and so I am happy to hear your thoughts and perspective on it.

For future reference with sitting, sitting backwards on the toilet (so you're not sitting on the pressure!) Can be really useful to have a rest

Love this - it brings back so many memories! I also had a non medicated birth after researching birth and labour for months during pregnancy - it kept me busy and I felt it was my duty to fully understand everything that could happen. I had a home birth but your midwifery led unit looked super chill! Can’t wait to follow along your journey - my son is just a few weeks older than Harper and I can’t believe how fast time goes! I was curious if you had gas and air? X

Awww❤️❤️❤️ hope you and your son are doing okay! No I didn’t even want to try it I hate anything that makes me feel out of it and get super dizzy and motion sick in general so I just know I would hate it😂 (I was also so tired and out of it it would have probably just knocked me out even further!)

I had an induction at a little over 41 weeks because I was forced basically. Made to believe I was harming my unborn child. I did unmedicated besides induction meds. I went from a 0 to 10 in an hour. I could not get the baby out and they were suggesting c section. I ended up with forceps delivery with no pain relief. I am currently pregnant and our second is due in 23 days!!! I am hoping to not be induced because I agree with you on this. Although I am 37 YO so I may have to? My first son I was 36 YO at time of his birth and that was the concern with carrying him over the 41 week mark. The doctor actually tried quilting me into induction at 39 weeks. My labor was 9 hours so I was lucky in that regard but pushing for 6 hours and I got exhausted. My body felt like it was naturally trying to get him out but he was stuck. Upon delivery it was found that his arm stuck upward next to his face. I do want to add that the whole time his heart rate stayed amazing and besides not being able to push him out that was the only issue that I wonder now if the induction had partly to do with.

@@JessBloom that's amazing. I was worried it would impact you. As much as your birth video was a bit hard to watch because you were in pain, you've made me feel more prepared/comfortable when/if I do that. I love how much emphasis you put on trusting your body and going with it xx

Thanks for sharing your story. I have a 4 day old now and my partner and I planned to share feeding like you have done but everyone says wait 6 or 8 weeks. We have had a couple of hard nights with her just stressing out and unable to feed so one bottle at night should help. Did you have any issues with pumping and any over supply. My MW mentioned this and that it can cause mastitis which I want to avoid. Thanks

Aww congratulations! Combi feeding was the best decision I ever made and we did it straight away with one bottle a day for quite a while! You may feel a bit engorged as your body will over produce for a while until you get into a feeding rhythm, we combi fed with formula so I didn’t pump much at the beginning but just go with the flow your body knows what it’s doing ♥️♥️
