A real craftsman great skill and very well done, no fancy tools, work bench or safety gear heart goes out to him for having to work under those conditions.
:Why? It his choice to work in those conditions. There's nothing to stop him buying or building a decent workbench, for example. There's noting to stop him keeping the floor clean. Nothing to stop him making a proper riveting tool. Only ignorance .
@Tess Tickle : Your thinking is faulty. It doesn't matter whether you like in a rich society or a poor one, time is ALWAYS money. It doesn't matter whether you earn $1 an hour or $100 an hour, making a work bench or a gear puller takes the same time - the same percentage impact on your earnings that day.
Why put money in a bank account? If you do that today, you can't spend it today. Answer: Because the account pays interest, and over time you'll end up with more. Same thing with making a work bench or a gear puller: On the day you do it, that's time you can't use for paying work. But for the next 30 years that bench or puller will mean you can work more efficiently and earn money faster.
These methods of working in Pakistan and Afghanistan can only be a cultural thing. Everybody works in the dirt, so young blokes think that is how it is done.
There was a time, when I was young, that my country was as poor as Pakistan is now. But we worked smarter, investing in our future, and now we are a rich, advanced country. The fact that countries such as Germany, the USA, etc are so much more richer and powerful is not an accident. It's because their culture fosters innovation - everyone continually looking for a better tool to get the job done quicker at less cost.
If building a work bench or gear puller meant reduced earnings, we wouldn't have them either.
TBH it doesn't look that hard to do. Just disassemble the thing, drill some rivets, replace what need to be replace and reassemble the thing. It also looks like it's the only task he's doing in this specific shop
You never see them doing repair on parts that need really tight clearance, specific torque settings, exotic materials..
Even when they're doing some lathe work, it's always the very basic facing, cutting to an OD and parting the pieces to a 1mm precision.
@@xl000 In lots of these videos, you see them working on things that SHOULD be properly torqued - eg head bolts, big end bolts. But they never use torque wrenches. I don't believe its because they can't afford the right tools. Its because they have not been taught properly, and are plain lazy. Just as the lathe operator in this video was just too plumb lazy to constrain the coupling with a guide rod. One slight accidental touch and the result will be quick and dramatic. But he doesn't think about it.
They can afford the tools alright - you see them using expensive presses, expensive lathes (and abusing expensive lathes by welding in situ using the lathe as the earth return). They go though large quantities of welding rods, etc. These aren't cheap. They probably come from some Indian factory at a price well below what we pay in the West, but relative to their economics, they'll still be expensive.
If they are getting away with ripping off the customer by doing shoddy work, it's because their competitors are just as bad, and the customers think that poor quality is normal.
@@keithammleter3824 I agree and like your approach
We can only hope this man will not suffer the ill effects of asbestos in the clutch and brake linings he so skillfully replaces.

Asbestos hasn’t been used in years
@@oo0Spyder0oo “[...] On 5 May 2017, India opposed listing of asbestos under the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) list of hazardous substances during the 2017 United Nations Rotterdam Convention. As such, India is the second Democracy (After Russian Federation) to have such a stance, globally. Besides India, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, and Zimbabwe also opposed the listing. While, all the other countries opposing are producers of asbestos; India (where mining is banned) is the sole (and largest) consumer and importer of asbestos still opposing its inclusion on the PIC List. “[...] In spite of the health hazards, asbestos is widely used in India without any restriction. Activists in India and abroad have tried to persuade the governments of Canada and Quebec to stop asbestos mining in Quebec and Exporting to India. The Canadian government has repeatedly blocked asbestos being listed as a hazardous chemical by the UN even though it spends massive amounts of money to remove it from Canadian homes and offices. Doesn't it have to be balanced ??

Did you do this job this millennium or previous one?)
Great work sur I wish we. Had guys like you here in the usa
Anybody can do this with their own clutch, but most of us are too lazy to understand how it works.
We do have people like this. We have been trained to buy only name brand store items and everything else is illegal.
With the 9/11 anniversary coming up, you might want to rethink your wish. I'm just sayin'.
We have plenty of capable people here in the USA, it is just not worth the labor to do this work when a new part costs a fraction of the price of the rebuild parts and the labor.
These are real mechanics they don’t just swap an old part for a new part like in the US, rather they repair the broken part.
Вот молодци народ )))👍👍👍 и всё же это тяжкий труд
If you couldn't you would never see a remanufactured or new clutch for that matter.

Was a time you could walk into almost any garage and get a clutch or brakes relined, engines rebuilt, sadly the UK has lost many of the trades people who did this and cheap imports have undercut and reduced us to bin and replace culture
@@Taz6688 I think it is more cost of labour in country.... If you earn £2 a day you cannot get by on stuff like this, in the UK. But some countries $2 a day is luxury living.

Next time my parts manager says the clutch is not in stock I’ll fkn kill him after watching this guy make one lol !! Wow great craft skills well done 🇬🇧👌👍
Yeah, but you would pay many times more than to buy new clutch. He was rebuilding it because it is just cheaper in his country, not because of some workmanship or something.
@@jannepomuk7735 sorry I fail to see the relevance of your comment in relation to the humorous comment I left …let me clarify for you ..firstly I commented on the workmanship which deserves merit regardless if something is cheaper or expensive , secondly I was jokingly commenting that we are fobbed of when a part is not in stock and are left waiting..this guy on the other hand gets hands on and makes a clutch from start to finish , that workmanship also deserves credit .
@@MrMagsimus Also didn't mean it that serious how I wrote it, I just wanted to mention that in our "rich" world is just more worthy to replace than repair, if you don't do it yourself. And you can see it all around, not only with cars.
But I don't see there any special workmanship what even amateur wouldn't do. His job didn't require any special measurements or knowledge.
@@jannepomuk7735 yes you are right we live in a day and age of hardly any recycle and just replace most things that can be repaired but we bin them and get new ones, I had my bmw key battery die on me the other day and u think that it would have a simple screw to take the cover of and replace a £5 battery… no not BMW they seal the damn key together and glue the chip in for good measure so u pay £300 for a new key !! Out of spite I spent 3 hours cutting it open and brought a battery and new case for £6 of eBay and saved £300 !! To hell with them lol 😂 👍🙏🏼
@@MrMagsimus we live this way because large industrial monopolies, insurance companies, the largest suppliers, which literally rip off our skin of capital with speculative prices, and all this is two or three times more costly taxed by our governments, which have turned us into slaves. so everyone I have listed now does not want you to repair anything, they want you to buy new and pay for everything endlessly, as much as they want, even if you don’t have as much.

I didn't know it was possible to buy parts for the clutch itself.
In a country like theirs where they have no recourse when parts fail. I mean after all its used springs from another used worn out disk along with the other parts he grind down to fit. The ring was cracked and used he also grind down to fit...Wondering it the clutch material was just used and spray painted too. Looks like maybe only the rivets are new...The buyers really doesn't have any type system he can go to to complain there....Here you do stuff like that and sell it , you can be sued, fined and imprisoned. The term rebuild or manufactured GREATLY changes based on where in the world the part is being rebuilt in....This is a country where they think more highly of the disk then they do towards women.
Stop talking out of your backside
