- HECU were the fail-safe of any huge experiment conducted at Black Mesa Research Facility. They were meant to evacuate and clean up any dangerous repercussions. Part of that team was Adrian Shephard.
After Gordon Freeman schlomped the crystal into the Resonator, and the Resonance Cascade engulfed the entire facility with Xen animals and Nihilanth soldiers, the HECU now had another mission in gun, which was beyond any kind of ethical or moral standpoint.
But after all, they were there to do their job. This #HalfLife 3D #animation was done in #Blender. Music is Storm from HL1:OpFor

This is sad actually, everyone tought it was just going to be a normal day of work. But the disaster happened...and "The world went to hell that day" - Eli ; This is why i prefer the Half-Life 1 plot than the second one.

As a child, I was simply shocked by the fact that soldiers kill ordinary people, whom, in theory, they are supposed to protect from aliens.
They were ordered to silence the facility, and everyone and everything in it.
The lines between friend and foe can blur. But fear not, for there's always more to the outcome than meets the eye. The world is a complex place, full of surprises and unexpected turns.

Looking nice,one minor critic though. The HECU is a branch of the US military and should be deploying either the M1 Abrams tank or the M60 Patton tank (if you want to retain that rounded turret look on the tank). It would also add some accuracy as the tanks Valve put in are also based on the Abrams.
For some reason they have the Russian T-90 in the vid :)
To be a bit more precise HECU are suppose to be part of USMC MARSOC

One little critic here: Your stuff is too dark, I cant see most of whats going on because the characters on their own dont stand out (Maybe Gordon in his big orange suit does), Black Mesa as seen in the games would still have more than plenty lights on. Though, It does capture the feeling of all hell breaking loose.
It's darker than usual, but it's also visible if you've got a good monitor. I have a monitor with bad brightness and colors, which makes everything look as if in a deep and lightless cave.
That monitor stopped working and is now collecting cobwebs in the basement. The HECU videos were made in mind with less of a bright atmosphere, since there was nothing as such when the accident occurred.
I like how the only security guard who was present in the facility died almost immediately after he tried shooting them.
Not an easy thing to try to outshoot the military.

Well, if you make the turret aim backwards you could ram through anything, aiming the turret backwards is just so the barrel can’t get damaged.

Don't want to be the one to start interdimensional wars, but have you seen the headcrabs? Those little buggers can jump higher than a F35 ejection seat. Plus, have you ever tried to fight off a swarm of them? It's like a scene from a horror movie, but with more biting and less screaming.

I was expecting a choreographed dance in the middle of this video for some reason.
Would've been nice to see more xen combat vehicles (for example the xen turret) so they stood toe to toe against humans. I mean you only see human vehicles against alien infantry.

I'm not a huge Half-Life fan but I wanna see more of the HECU it's a shame they vanished after HL1 as the U.S. Government has all kinds of scenarios planned out and so many secrets they'd have to survive the Combine invasion

idk if its me or not, but the tanks kinda look like a tr-85 tank model. I may be wrong very wrong.
At first you think the HECU is evil then you come to realize they were just doing their job. Just trying to contain the situation and yes killing everyone else is cruel, but Black Mesa and the stuff they were doing is top secret. If other countries found out what happened then they would try to open portals to Xen as well. Of course given the Portal Storms which ravaged the Earth and then the Combine Invasion it was a mute point.
Part of the description is incorrect. The HECU were never made as a fall-safe of any huge experiment conducted at the Black Mesa Research Facility. Their whole purpose was not for Black Mesa.
