Yeah, i like there is no reason to why he press X red botton and somehow progress. In a modern games that will be a negative point but it give nostalgia of how old games was like" SHINE RED BOTTOM, PRESS RED BOTTOM"😂
Depends on your interpretation, but in my eyes it's sort of symbolic. As a protagonist of a linear game, there is only one way forward. The world stops when you do. Inaction is not an option, and there is only one action available. I think the Gman represents that, seeing and creating these linear paths and setting the protagonists along them to meet his own ends.
The cool / fun thing is that Shepard is the protagonist that has kind of a clear personality (he has a diary and you can read the important parts of it, like G-Man, Black Mesa, Indoor Training, Etc.) The other protagonists that has kind of a clear personality, are Gina Cross, and Colette Green. Their voice lines indicate that Gina is a quiet, calm, and a reserved character, while Colette is more outgoing, and talkative
You did a hella good job in making the visual effects too man. The details in Sheperd's damp uniform after he goes underwater, the lightings, teleporting effects were thorough and professional effort
11:27 This is one of the best moments. You don’t see HL characters tire or rest from playing single player. It’s refreshing to see even a well trained marine like Adrian needs a break once in awhile.
Yeah, especially the part where he fights the Gonome. At 13:23 you can hear his staggered breathing, obviously being very traumatised. It’s so good in representing human emotion and reaction!
The level of detail is truly astonishing, I mean you even made the gun scraping in the intro and everything, I am beyond baffled by this, I want this to be a FULL movie budget and all because this is TRULY an Oscar winning thing right here.
I love the realism added to the film, a smart person would not leave their only line of defense behind, and I love how the gun was jammed because it was wet, I just love it!

Watching this be put together over the past year+ has been a huge honor. I love the passion put into a project like this and things like this are why I develop mods and games. Much love!
The absence of any music in various scenes really helped to keep the tension high all throughout the piece. 23 minutes of either action or suspence, nothing but praise.
Very well executed . I love the silence in every moment ,drives paranoia . Little side notes : a trained operator would never cross any angle with no weapon or without pointing it in the general possible direction of the contatc . Neither would keep his sidearm in his backpack . Would never approach a new enemy bigger than him (shock trooper ) never seen before with a new weapon he has no previous training before ,expecially in a ambush move ,neither would leave it there once he understood the weapon is good and working properly with minimal knowledge. Many other things i like about your work tho ,like the knife underwater ,the wrench for keep low profile and minkmal effort and the "hunting" approach you gave Shephard during his encounter with the bullsquid ( in reality using one of those spgs would be considered suicide at that range , but i get the message ) .Very good work !
I love that Half-Life Opposing Force SFMs are still in style. This is such a unique one, considering most are about the opening stages of the game. Reminding me of the nostalgic first playthrough that I had through this chapter was simply beautiful. Great work artist!
This is incredible. I like how expressive Adrian is, how he gets tired, scared, and reacts to aliens. You can see his personality just by his mannerisms.
Shepherd's a beast if he can swing that half-assedly and still one-tap a headcrab. man, now I wanna play the OF (OppFor) related DLCs... amazing work btw, honestly wanna get into SFM myself due to how good you can make things seem, but can't be bothered with current drama in life.
Very well made, the animations are made with so much precision, it's like I'm looking a cinematic from an opposing force remake, sure hope it will inspire people if they want to try to do the remake of this one! Keep up the good work, you deserve it!
So it didn’t bother you at all that the video is called after an OF chapter? And that the things that this marine is doing are exactly the same as in the game?
This deserves so many more views than 32k. Well done sir! Your talent and work are appreciated in bringing me back to a simpler time when games were good.
Damn it's too early, I thought this was a trailer for Abiotic Factor's crush depth update that is supposed to come out today lmao. Glad I found it though, this is cool.
This was great. I loved the use of lighting and camera angles, does justice to the chapter and (imo) this really "lonely", weird feel Opposing Force has. Also a fan of the eyebrow work on Adrian, coupled with some of the subtle hand movements it gives him a nice bit of expressiveness. Overall an enjoyable watch. Congratulations for finishing this, the work and love that went into it must've been a lot.

the sound design is actually what a pretty realistic take on the black mesa incident deep underground would feel like. just a crushing silence when almost everything else is dead only occasionally punctuated by the occasional sound of machinery or small skirmishes
You could make an absolutely incredible series about half life!!! This is so awesome and definitely took a lot of hard work to make such a masterpiece!
This is literally amazing! I would have try very hard to create my own animation that would have a different perspective of my own character in the facility even with adding every detail of sounds and such in it.
Another great epic video. Loved this one! The gas mask under water was a little unrealistic. But the rest of the film fit great with half life's lore and the secrets of black mesa.
this is so amazing with details like that spores swimming around Hell, i dont even recall seeing them swimming like that. only confined to a tube in a lab
that brief glimpse of the black ops assassin is a testament to how the human forces in the black mesa incident were as much of a danger to our protagonists as the aliens were. god, that agility would be terrifying to go up against.

God, its a wonder Shephard is a silent protagonist...couldn't imagine how much he'd be cursing having his full kit soaked throughout the chapter

He's actually fully voiced, due to him being a marine he just doesnt realise his radio is only set to blare through his own helmet.
