Blue & Grey is a beautiful song written by member V (he started and ended the song). V wrote this song when he was going through a difficult time last year. The instrumentals are the same as the original track and this was the first time BTS ever performed Blue & Grey since its release last November. They sound better live than on the album!

The problem about BTS is usually their live version is better than their recording... Some people even accused them of lipsync but trust me they're baaaad at lypsinc hahaha ARMY knows what I mean...

V, Kim Taehyung, who was the first and last to sing wrote this when he was struggling with depression and didn't know if he could find a way forward, though I understand the rappers added their verses. It was around the time their world tour was canceled due to the pandemic and the writing process as well as channeling their efforts into yet another Billboard #1 album helped all of them and the album Be has brought comfort and healing to so many. I couldn't listen to this song for the longest time without crying but I can handle it on a good day now.
For what it's worth I'm dealing with my own father's terminal diagnosis (though his current remission is a blessing) so again, condolences to you and your family. You're a compassionate and perceptive guy.
V wrote this song 💜💔 He was going through a hard time last year, as were many of us. It was a very personal song for them.

Actually in the interview V choose and changed thier ideas V had final say but yes they pitched in, he said he wrote and changed lyrics to really show how he was feeling at the time:) you can look it up V and suga do an interview
This particular song is written by one of the members whose name is V. He wrote the lyrics, composed, and produced it. He is talking about his depression obviously. All BTS members write their own lyrics, compose, and participate in producing their music.

@@archmohanty Ha,well,it does get confusing keeping up with everything the seven members say and get up to.It stuck in my head at the time because the rap verses blend in so well with Vs original song.
When I heard this song I identified a lot with it I would like to tell you I suffered very strong depression last year, I had never experienced such an ugly feeling of emptiness, loneliness, sadness, that feeling that does not allow you to be happy, I remember that every day I tried to be happy, I tried to smile for my family, many people tell you it's normal, you'll be fine, but it's not like that, depression is not normal, at one point I couldn't take it any more and I locked myself in my room for days, I didn't want to eat, I couldn't sleep And I just wanted to cry Last October my niece told me to listen to BTS and the first song I heard was Love Myself and it literally saved my life I cried a lot but not from sadness, it was a feeling that for the first time someone was speaking directly to my heart and now almost 6 months later my life is another I left my depression behind and I am happy learning every day to love myself to be able to love others and be really happy. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I've been there too and even now when I'm already living my life happily, there would be some days when I want to be alone. After knowing BTS, I would just play their songs especially the comforting and the cheery ones when I feel even a little down/sad.
@@azhhikari Hello, I send you a big hug, there are days when I also feel sad or worried but the key is not to allow this feeling to take over us, I listen to BTS every day, I go out to drive and I go in the car listening and dancing to the songs. I like to watch Run BTS episodes that makes me laugh a lot and I feel better, I thank God for having met these 7 beautiful young people who have taught me in such an objective way that I am important, that I have my light and that I can illuminate the lives of more people in a good way, I am 41 years old and I have begun to love myself without worrying so much about what others say, that it is normal to feel fear, that we can fail but I also have the strength to get up and don't let fear rule my life. We are important, we are beautiful human beings, it is our right to be happy, loving ourselves and being able to help more people who need to know that they are also important and that they can come to love themselves and be happy.
I miss V so much, this song is always make me cry, they are the only who support me when my world was collapsed I really enjoyed the song.

The member who started and ended the song, Kim Taehyung aka V wrote this song to share the way he was feeling through this covid situation. He spent many nights up late through the early morning hours battling his sadness. He would come online in the middle of the night and talk to fans through Weverse to help him go to sleep... to connect with his fans. BTS talks openly how difficult it has been to halt performances as they are very connected to their fans.
BTS has a huge discography and dontbshy away from any real topics.

Fans who know BTS can tell you they don't just sing energetic or peppy songs. They write and sing various genres of music like ballad, edm, jazz, hard core rap, pop, r&b, neo-soul.... Many of their songs are very deep & philosophical coming from their own experience, books, arts, current society's issues and there are explanation videos made for many of their songs interpreting the meanings. They have storyline that goes thru from years agos albums and that is connected till now.
This is why so many people of all ages can relate to them, they are so genuine, and talk about things we all know
I think this song helped people know that they weren’t alone in feeling this way, especially during the past year. But BTS felt sad too, separated from ARMY and isolated just like the rest of the world.
BTS Taehyung "V" wrote and composed this song when he went through a depression that he even wanted to quit the band. But he turned around and made his depression into a beautiful song. Try his Sweet Night as well and his Singulariy. Thank you for this reaction.
The ending lines are VERY "him". He struggles with insomnia and often can't fall asleep until the early morning hours...often after spending hours and hours "chatting" with fans through their online forum to get out his feelings and anxiety and leave his words floating in the nether-sphere rather than running through his head.
The falling asleep at dawn part is referencing when we’re stuck in depression and anxiety we usually can’t sleep because we’re up all night with all the thoughts running through our mind. Yes this song is so sad but it’s also very comforting for those going through depression, anxiety and burnout, knowing that others understand what they’re going through and that they’re not alone. I always appreciate BTS sharing their own experiences through their lyrics/music and how they help remove the stigma around depression. These guys are world famous yet they are relatable because they never shy away from heavy topics and will be honest with their fans about their own experiences with mental health, they try and connect and heal people through our shared experiences as human beings. 💜

From MTV Unplugged only "Fix You" was a cover, the other songs are BTS originals. These young men are not only the singers, dancers, performers, but they write the lyrics, make the music, produce the songs as well. All members are incredibly talented and hardworking! you should check out your eyes tell from them the vocals are amazing, also the vocal line who is made up of V, Jimin Jin & Jungkook has many subunit songs such as the truth untold, zero o'clock, house of cards, lost these are all amazing vocal performances. The rap line Jhope, Suga & Rm also has unit songs also that you should check out they have the cypher series, ugh, outdo tear. Each member then has there own solo songs. If you like the vocal heavy songs as a group I would defiantly recommend your eyes tell, magic shop live performance, the tiny desk concert they did shows off their great vocal ability.
It’s really powerful when BTS use their platform to bring to light their own struggles with depression, which they often do (check out The Last from Agust D, aka Suga). South Korea is a country with a very high suicide rate in part bc discussing mental illness is often considered taboo, (as it is in many places, especially for men.)
The Truth Untold is my favorite of their ballads, but it is just the vocal line. If you want to hear another beautiful ballad with all seven of them, I'd suggest Butterfly. 💜
Also, the music video for Spring Day, you can't go wrong with.... Spring Day is referred to as the Queen because it has remained on Korea's charts for years. It is one of their most meaningful songs.
i observed that most youtubers are very alive when they do mv reactions but by the time they react to blue and grey,, they seem so quiet and they look sad. there was one reactor that he literally cried while doing reactions and i cried too watching him. i didnt got into deep depression before but it seems i can really feel the sadness of V while he wrote the song. it really breaks my heart coz he is my ultimate bias. i cant imagine that one of the most popular persons on earth and most handsome man in the world can possibly suffer deep sadness.. 😢

this is exactly like the studio version lol. they actually have many songs and ballads that are similar to this. i would suggest you listen to: your eyes tell, crystal snow, spring day, jamais vu, the truth untold and house of cards, if you’re really into emotional lyricism like i am. i would also suggest you listen to one of the members, jin, specifically, because he has a few solo songs that i think would really fit your taste: epiphany, tonight, abyss, and awake. i’m also not sure if you’re aware but bts has 3 rappers and 4 vocalists and was originally a hip-hop group which is why they typically get perceived as a pop group even though their discography is honestly too wide to categorize.
here are some more songs that aren’t really as emotional but are bts classics that you should check out: run, like, just one day, home, love maze, 134340, dis-ease, and telepathy.
some rap focused songs: ugh!, dionysus, cypher 2, cypher 4, ddaeng, and intro: persona.
BTS is not only about dancing and catchy tunes, they have some gorgeous, but really sad ballads like The Truth Untold and Spring Day, Crystal snow. Another ting they like to do is create lyrically sad and heavy topic songs on fun beats.

Blue and Grey comes from album "Be" released last year after they battling all the hard time they went through last year where concerts were cancelled, regular meetings with ARMY were cancelled, basically what they had planned for 2020 in 2019 were trashed. They came back to release Dynamite to try to bring the happy vibe to telling ARMY they are ok and lets stay positive, then they made this BE album to let ARMY know what's in their mind during the period, "Life Goes On", but with struggles and worries. Please react to the whole album, you can search lyrics versions. You will feel the same and also find comfort after going through the whole album

This song was written by V the one who started the song and ended..and this song is included in their album BE ( amazing album btw) ,produced bcs of the pandemic , is like a diary to them. Thank you for this, I love this song and as you said, many do relate to it so much. Deep lyrics are the ones that really make fans love Bts. They allways want to make songs for their fans, to relate and be honest also about their own feelings. Another really loved, vocal heavy song is The truth untold. Its a only vocal line song. Though Outro: Tear goes hard it's also a very emotional heartwrenching song too. If you like rap and songs about mental health I would recommend The Last by Agust D. That's Suga's solo name and his own story.
I highly recommend you listen to their latest album called BE. It is a masterpiece for everyone who's been dealing with the pandemic and depressions and other mental issues. That whole album is basically Big Hit's tagline "Music and Artists for Healing" All the songs from the Unplugged except Fix You is from that album. I can't recommend a complete album review especially at this time in our lives. 💜💜💜

V (the last to sing) wrote and produce this song. it's meant ro be in his own mix tape but Jungkook voted for it to be included in their latest album BE. BTS are amazing lyricists, composers and producers. BTS music is technically their own genre. BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!

You should listen to some of their other songs maybe too...Your Eyes Tell and Crystal snow are both great vocal songs from their Japanese albums (but they are harder to react to because Japanese TV is strict on copyright) BTS really does do a large variety of genres another song from recently that deals with sadness etc is 0 ' oclock. But if you like rap you can also listen to Suga aka AgustD (DT Suga backwards) in his solo mixtapes where he tells his story of dealing with mental health issues etc. The theme runs through much of the first mix tape but he especially storytells his life in the song The Last. I am glad you are enjoying BTS. They have a lot of good music to offer and I look forward to seeing more videos.
Every time I hear Blue & Grey, it gets me feeling so emotional. Even the studio recording, you still feel it.
Just so you know, so far every single Dynamite performance has been different from the other...and they’ve been performing this for many award and tv shows and virtual concerts. The unplugged version was good and I also suggest watching the Dynamite performance at Music on a Mission too.
check out their japanese songs they tend to really showcase the vocalines abilities, they tend to be very ballady..so songs like stay gold, your eyes tell, let go.. all amazing but also zero oclock, truth untold, house of cards so many songs that show off the vocals
"That can be interpreted in so many different ways" ... Yes! It's actually what BTS tend to do in the majority of their songs. If you're interested in lyrics, depth, hidden meanings, wordplay etc. then BTS is the right band for you. There's different ways to look at and react to BTS songs, but their lyrics is definitely one of my favorite parts. "Spring Day" is another heavy, but also hopeful in a way (not being alone with your feelings and being allowed to feel) song. Though I STRONGLY suggest watching an explained video (theory by Italian Army or Bulletproof Vibes), because it adds a ton of information about the music video that you otherwise would have no chance of decyphering on your own. Trust me, it's worth your time!

They are amazing well beyond their songs. I saw two videos suggested to another after his first reaction to BTS, "This Is BTS: Introduction To BTS" and "This Is BTS Army: Introduction To BTS Fans". They give a lot of information that other video didn't have. Like their work with charities. I highly recommend them.
This was originally supposed to be for V's solo mix tape, but the group loved it and it fit what they were going for with the BE album, so he rewrote it for all of them. JK did the same with the song "Your Eyes Tell"; it was for his mix tape, but a Japanese movie wanted it for their soundtrack so he rewrote it from Korean to Japanese and for all seven of them. That's another amazing vocal performance. :)

This song always puts me in my feelings. I can relate to the feelings Taehyung felt when he was writing this. It is an emotionally charged song, dealing with sadness and depression. But the end of the song does signify hope. You should also check out the BTS NPR Tiny Desk Concert for a more personal stripped down performance of some of there music.💜
This was one of the songs released on their album BE (Nov 2020) which addressed a lot of their emotions regarding quarantine and was meant to bring comfort and healing to ARMY. I know many of us resonated with this song a lot. I personally felt that it was very cathartic after dealing with the pandemic for so long. It helped me accept that it's ok to feel sad and lonely and "just want to be happier."
I recommend reacting to their song Magic Shop, which also deals with mental health. There's no MV but I recommend this live performance which also has English subs (ruclips.net/video/I3gd-BUJT7A/видео.html). Hearing the echo of a stadium full of ARMY singing along always gives me chills 💜
Also SUGA has been very up front with his battle with depression. He really knows what he is singing about.
