    Made these last night to go with dinner. The kids had tacos and I usually only have some of the filling over shredded veggies. They were really easy to make (I have a tortilla press), cooked quickly and were delicious, they were also very filling. Make sure to drink lots of water with them because of the psyllium lol. The coconut flour makes them quite sweet and they would be delicious with sugar free syrup as mentioned by someone else here.

    I just made shrimp tacos for dinner tonight, I made my own tortillas too except the recipe I used had almond flour, coconut flour, xanthan gum, egg, apple cider vinegar, water, and salt and they are the most amazing keto tortillas. You can get 6 to 8 tortillas depending how big you want them. I cut my ball into 6 to 8 equal size wedges then I press them in the press with parchment paper and also roll them to get them really thin I used the same recipe to make my empanadas.

      Please share the recipe with measurements 😊???

    • @aradiarue
      @aradiarue Год назад +12

      @MargieK1 sure it is
      1 cup almond flour
      3 Tablespoons coconut flour
      2 teaspoons xanthan gum
      1 teaspoon baking powder
      1/4 teaspoon salt
      2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
      1 egg
      1 Tablespoon water
      Add all ingredients to a food processor with dough blade and mix until it forms a ball.
      Shape dough into a big ball and into 6 to 8 equal pieces. Press using tortilla press or rolling pin using parchment paper the cook in a very hot cast iron skillet, or flat pan like the one in the video one at a time and should only take about a minute for each one. If using to make empanadas after pressing fill with meat then fold and seal with fork, cut a small slit and bake in oven until golden brown....add an egg wash to them before baking gives them a really nice color.

    Fantastic! Do they keep well in the fridge to reheat or is it best to eat right after cooked?

    This is amazing. Thank you so much! Can you also make these with almond flour and if so will they still be low carb?

    those were the days, when my abuela would make tortillas and we would do the exact same thing as they came off the stove...butter them with a little salt or she would fry them and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon

    I made real tortillas once. They actually came out pretty good. I didn’t have a press, so I had to roll them out thin with a roller. I’ll have to try these.

      @@LowCarbLoveHi, I made them without a press and they turned out really good! I love this recipe, tastes good, filling, great texture, healthy. For some reason they work better for me if I knead in some olive oil before I roll them out. Thanks for this recipe. Do you think we could lessen the amount of pysillium?

    This recipe sure would save me the cost of Romero's Mindful Carbs tortillas! And yes, tortilla with butter (sans sal, though I might try it just once😉), is my go to late night comfort burrito. I'm just wondering if this low carb recipe will hold up to the big papas con huevos burritos I make in the mornings. Romero's works great but the amount of packages I buy can add up to $25 a month!

      The tortillas last about 2-3 days once made and placed in a Ziplock bag.
