Flaming Gorge Kokanee Fishing

This is our Kokanee adventures on the same trip we caught that HUGE lake trout. Got blown off the lake the first day down in the Hideout area. Caught a few nice ones before the wind really came in. The last day we cruised up to Buckboard but had a bit of troubles finding the Kokes. Trolled all the way down to the Pipeline and only managed to boat 2 of them. Had some killer hits but as you will see we weren't always paying attention.

Is the Buckboard ramp and campground a good part of Flaming Gorge for Kokanee fishing?

Yes it is. We usually up there later in the season. That's where our biggest Kokanee are usually caught.

I'm glad you got a kick out of it. I was pretty upset at the time. The bite was slow and it was able to take it off the release you know it was a nice Koke. Ah well thems the breaks. 🤣🤣
