Kokanee of a Lifetime at Strawberry

What a day at Strawberry. Caught this 5lb12oz 25.5 in monster kokanee. This bad boy ripped the lure of the downrigger clip and took a ton of drag. Zac and Jesse took turns trying to net this behemoth and we finally got it in the boat. Man I can't believe we caught this HUGE fish. We seem to be catching better quality fish on Strawberry this year however we're not getting as many fish.

No, the state record is 6lb 5oz. 25.25 length and 14 girth. Close but short 9oz.

Thank you!!! I gotta teach my boys how to net fish. They kept going for the tail instead of the head. 🤣🤣 Most Kokanee usually fit fine.... Hopefully get some more of those bigguns tho.

the extendable SA nets are great but I see all these Kokanee guys with the super shallow rubber netting and I don't understand why they even make them so shallow. I have the same net as that but I have black rubber netting that is probably 30 inches deep and I don't have to worry about any fish less than 40 inches getting out
