When Motörhead covers your song, it's not your song anymore - It's theirs.

Although it's an amazing cover, I think Lemmy would have slapped you if he would have heard you say this about Sympathy for the fucking Devil. ;-)
Not with the Stones, man. I think Lemmy'd disagree with you on that one.
Tomorrow will be 8 years to the day Lemmy left this mortal realm of ours. It's wild that it's been that long! This cover being the final track on Motorhead's final album has always felt very fitting to me.
Rest in peace, Lemmy. The world is a lesser place without you! 🤘
HE DIDN'T WANT TO LIVE FOREVER. Heard him say so somewhere......
Thanks for everything Lemmy!
it was ace of spades
+theskepticaltaco I think drServitis was being sarcastic about the source of the quote
***** I just meant that we all know where we heard Lemmy say that, since we all love Lemmy and know Motorhead's songs so well. Rock on forever, Lemmy!
+drServitis He also sang, apparently I am.
+drServitis He will though, because of his music. He's a legend, and I think it's really cool that he will live on through something you can tell he really loved.
I'm 57 and this is the first time I've listened to Motorhead. One of my favorite songs with a gravelly sound to it. Nice change!

A fucking amazing version of an already legendary rock and roll anthem. Motorhead did proper justice to a song that has minimal space for improvement or improvisation; they put their stamp on it, tweaked it, and nailed it in the best possible way. RIP Lemmy, you will always be the archangel of rock.
I'm still listening son! 70 and still chewing bubble gum and kicking ass!

25 years ago, the first time I had met him at the Rainbow bar & grill, I said "I really have looked up to for quite some time" Now, I know when you people say he is God, you mean God of Rock n Roll or whatever.. but he said in response.. "If I were you, I wouldn't look up to me, the only person you should look up to, is You!" And I said in embarrassment, "well I meant because of your lyrics in your songs like in "Stay Clean" and what not".. Lemmy said, "yeah, I know, but shouldn't look up to me, cause in the end, all you have is yourself" Words to live by.
Danny, is that true? wow nice man, cheers \m/
If that is true its fucking beautiful
Fuck yeah
and you remembered what happened 25 years ago?
Danny Vasquez, you the Man! Righteous story bro, you have my respect!
“Pleased to meet you” Only Lemmy can make it sound like That !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great voice !!! R.I.P.
met Lemmy at the Palace, in London in 1984, bought me drinks all night long, I didn't know who he was until I got back home and told my older brother I met him, and my brother said, "He's the lead singer of Motorhead!"
Awesome
Awesome
Paula Reger you treated him like he was “normal” he returned the favor certainly a great experience to have
😨

The way Lemmy says "pleased to meet you" sold me the song
I thought the same thing. Absolutely.

BEST RENDITION EVER! JUST WOWWW! The intro is like nothing I've heard from MOTÖRHEAD. This fits Lemmy perfectly both vocally and spiritually. My new all time favorite.
Idk if you're counting the vocals in the beginning it's very reminiscent of "God was never on your side" still badass
Get goosebumps listening to this cover. Just the intense build-up to the solo's, especially the last one. Makes me eyes water
The solos are distinctly different from Keith Richards’ in the same way Lemmy’s vocals differ from Jagger’s. A bit harder, not as clean (by design) and a bit harder.
We are Motorhead, and we play rock and roll
that's what he always said when they came on stage

I've been listening to Motorhead since I was 13(around 1993-94) and tonight drinkin' a Jack and Coke and listening to Lemmy's final performance; an old feeling has managed to hit me again and for the first time, bring me a few tears. As soon as he sang "Pleased to meet you" and his voice hit that old familiar gritty tone, the goosebumps rose allover again. It's never failed. The Stones version is a classic, but this one just rocks so hard
Got into Motorhead at around 1980 and still listen to 'em today. Something in that voice
Ya, i did too. Heard "Snaggletooth" as my first ever Motorhead song. Bought No Remorse on LP when it came out, and chose a random song to listen to. Holy shit, been a die-hard Motorhead addict ever since. RIP Lemmy; you are missed very much

Ægir Demus Nah. The Stones, Maiden and Metallica still own their songs that Motorhead covered.

Nothing blows away the blues of depression and the cobwebs of indifference like listening to Motörhead!!
This song makes me feel so alive!! YEAH!!
That's a wonderful analogy.
I think Jagger and Lemmy both did it perfectly, but in different styles.
Personally the themes of war present in the tune present themselves as more of a Motörhead song than a Stones song. Nothing against the Stones but this has to be one of the best fitting covers in music history (granted most covers Motörhead did where awsome as hell (Heros, Cat Scratch Fever, Hellraiser)).
Motörhead version was better guitars.......
Add gnr's version
He always had a “Cash” sound in his voice. I always thought he sounded like Johnny as a metal singer.
Excellent observation ... maybe it’s his cadence.
Actually Cash loved metal.
Trigger Happy apart from lemmys British accent they both had a rough kind of voice
Lemmy and JC were definitely cut from the same cloth. Forever legends!!
give him a listen Sam Gopals album and you'll hear the soft side of his vocals, plus on the video you get to see him playing 6 string guitar.

When Lemmy starts to sing, we all become one with the Universe, simply because we just heard a God jam!!!
In 1994 me and a friend of mine spent an evening in Vienna and walked through Carinthian Street as we heard some noise not far away, sounded like a ghetto blaster. We followed this noise and came to a place where a show run, Uriah Heep, Nazareth and Alvin Lee played to celebrate Austrians "Yes" for the EU. We listened for a while and then continued our walk to the Danube Tower to get a coffee 140m above the ground. As we were upstairs, we choose to sit outside on the platform and there we noticed some well known "noise". Right below the Danube tower was a big tent, and Motörhead played their show. We looked at each other and said "Shit, i didn't know of this show tonight." After we finished our coffee - which needed longer than usual due to the nice accoustic - we decided to go to a rock club in the city. We sat there for about half an our near the entry, had some drinks, fine music, as suddenly the door opened and an older guy came in. It was Lemmy himself, no Bodyguards, no Security, only Lemmy. He took a look around the people, raised his hand for a "Hello everybody" and went straight to the bar. My friend an me were stoned :) It was fascinating, other people walked straight to him, but he did absolutely not behave like a Star, he was friendly, talked patiently with them, gave Autographs, a very nice guy. R.I.P.
P.S.: One of these covers that are better than the original
The last song on the last Motorhead studio album... Sad yet so lucky to have so many memories.

LYRICS:
Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long years
Stole million man's soul an faith
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
Stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed Tsar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politnesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, mm yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, mm yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, mm mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Aah yeah
Tell me baby, what's my name?
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name?
Tell me baby, what's my name?
I tell you one time, you're to blame
What's my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name?

try the big push version
@@akuinibinatangjalang I will. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
