Fun Fact: The Invisible Man's Evil Laugh from 1933 is what Inspired Mark Hamill to play and do the infamous laugh from Batman The Animated Series as The Joker.
Personally I prefer the original Invisible Man over the sequels. Also personally I prefer Son of Frankenstein over the other Frankenstein films. Also also personally Dracula's Daughter is my favourite Universal Dracula film.
I agree that Abbott & Costello Meet The Invisible Man may be the funniest of the "Meet" series. With only one Universal "monster" in the story, the film gives Bud and Lou more time to focus on many different comedic gags, including the boxing match and multiple scenes at a restaurant. The waiter who serves Bud and Lou (w/Invisible Man) at the restaurant is perfect with his puzzling expressions.
I've got this film, mainly because of this review. This is a hidden masterpiece. Only an hour long, yet packed with substance. Thank you, cinemassacre. I'm also getting a lot of movies you review. 20's and 30's horror movies are truly something. Go and purchase this film, it's worth every minute of your time.
For the Invisible Agent, I don't like to think of it as inconsistencies, rather misinformation, in a spy movie no less. It actually super works on some level. Awesome video!
Wizards & Warriors has a powerup that makes your character invisible only to you, the enemies can still see where you are. So obviously you should avoid it.
He was one of the few horror movie monsters that actually gave me nightmares. Just the idea that someonw is out to kill you and can't see him. Who wouldn't be on edge?
Indeed! Worth noting though, and I hope he acknowledges it at some point, The Invisible Man Returns didn't win the Oscar for Best Special Effects (1940). It was nominated but lost to The Thief of Bagdad.
I haven’t read the book in years so I can’t really remember much from it, but I do recall thinking at the time that I liked all the film versions better. Even the Chevy Chase version Memoirs of an Invisible Man.
Loved the Invisible Man series, started off by reading the book, then on to the movies. Also still have some of the old Aurora models of these old horrors :D
So, would you consider Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon and later Christian Slater as entries in the series? The main character each time acquires invisibility and kind of runs rampant as with what you've described in the original Invisible Man movies. Just curious.
For some reason I wouldn't mind a remake of The Invisible Man. I guess there's just so much that can be done with the concept, as the original series shows
2020 is the year I finally got around watching the Universal Monsters classics. It's fun to revisit these Monster Madness reviews after having watched the films
Only one mistake in this overall great clip: The Invisible Man Returns revived Oscar nomination for Best Special Effects but the award went to Thief of Bagdad (1940)
4:08 original Fantastic Four #182 * Susan Storm(-Richards) waStill Invisible Girl @ that point and would be for ~ another decade of the series' publication.
I quite liked Invisible Woman and found it very funny. "Well did she say anything before she left?" "Yes, she said, 'Growley, Growley, here I come'". "Whaaa...?"
For invisible woman ik James pointed out Shemp Howard was in it, but I’m surprised he didn’t mention that Margaret Hamilton and John Barrymore are also in it considering how much of a wizard of oz and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde fan he is.
Apart from James Whale's direction, the film's comedic edge could also be down to the fact that one of the screenwriters was an uncredited Preston Sturges.
I was never into the invisible man movie series. I have seen all the Frankenstein movies on both sides hammer and Hollywood. Also the Dracula movies of Christopher Lee and Bela. Wolfman only a few....
A perfect Halloween costume. Cheap, frightening, recognizable, warm to wear, and overall just plain cool looking.
might not be too recognizable these days...
Indeed, but plenty of people (at least in my limited experience) at least recognize the image if not the man himself.
WarlordOfRome take it from experience: it can get super warm. If you are dressing up, go on a super cold night or stay cool indoors.
Does it matter?
I tried wearing it once. Unfortunately everyone just thought I was a Mummy wearing sunglasses. But then I didn't have a trenchcoat and fedora.

Damn they made a movie about my dad
Pellowmin
Stop being so smart
That is sad.
Pellowmin Productions ūùûüúu
Pellowmin Productions hits too close to home
Sameeeee
The Invisible Man Returns is one of the best Universal Monster Sequels, only second to The Bride of Frankenstein.
Never seen invisible man returns but love Bride Of Frankenstein
I love bride of frankenstein too
Personally I prefer the original Invisible Man over the sequels.
Also personally I prefer Son of Frankenstein over the other Frankenstein films.
Also also personally Dracula's Daughter is my favourite Universal Dracula film.
@@moviemaster7349 no pun intended right?
@@warrenrhinerson6373 LOL
Invisible man is by far my favorite of the universal classic monsters
Bigby Plays Wolfman for me :D
Bigby Plays same man
Totally agree.
I prefer the mummy but still love this character
I got my parents to watch this film on halloween a couple years ago and old horror films are a tradition now
Thats sounds fun
What did you guys watch?
I love the ‘Abbott and Costello’ crossover, the humor is a riot to watch. The original film of course is the greatest
The Original Invisible Man movie is absolutely badass!
No doubt!
I agree that Abbott & Costello Meet The Invisible Man may be the funniest of the "Meet" series. With only one Universal "monster" in the story, the film gives Bud and Lou more time to focus on many different comedic gags, including the boxing match and multiple scenes at a restaurant. For 1933 this film was pretty out there. I still consider it more horrific than many so called horror films today.
dat burp intro
It's CineBURPsecre BURPster BURPness!
I love Dr. Jack Griffin! I think he has the potential to be a really sweet invisible man! I love Claude Rains, as well! What a handsome Actor!
I love that griffin is a recurring last name for this series, my reason being obvious
You’re gonna be the next invisible man
I've got this film, mainly because of this review. This is a hidden masterpiece. Only an hour long, yet packed with substance. Thank you, cinemassacre.

Invisible Man is the original John Cena. "You can't see me."
That makes Abbott and Costello the original Shaggy and Scooby, which is actually true!
When I buy movies I usually don’t buy ones without seeing them but you’ve convinced me.
I’m gonna buy the legacy collection. Thanks James 👍
As a fan of all Abbot and Costello films. I agree 100%
Who else would love to see an "Invisible Man" video game?
Some of these horror movies I have never seen, and some I haven't in years. I have really enjoyed going back to watch these.
I seen all the Godzilla movies in fact I have them on DVD. Also the flying turtle gamera.
Claude Rains nailed it as The Invisible Man!
Absolutely!
Here we go gathering nuts and may on an early frosty morning
WTF there was a minute long commercial with no skipping button! BTW the invisible man was and still holds pretty good to this day
If you're invisible and you take a poop in the street,, is your poop invisible.. or does it look like poop is appearing out of nowhere?
I know which one I'd rather it be...
+Wam-mnebu Hey, someone else who's read the book.
Smooth Steve lol. Damn.
Goddamn, are we still discussing this?
Don’t know if the power of invisibility would make you give up good old-fashioned toilet etiquette. lol
For the Invisible Agent, I don't like to think of it as inconsistencies, rather misinformation, in a spy movie no less. It actually super works on some level. Awesome video!
I’d love to hear James thoughts on the 2020 Invisible Man film.
Cue the Queen song!
The Official AC Hell, yeah!
Incredible how you can......
....see right through me!
That woulda been a sweet nes game, The Invisible Man you play the game never knowing for sure where the character you're controlling is....
That sounds awful.
+Landtoast 44
Don't give LJN any ideas. >>
Wizards & Warriors has a powerup that makes your character invisible only to you, the enemies can still see where you are. So obviously you should avoid it.
Invisigun Heroes on Steam.
LET ME PRODUCE THAT.
(But probably not cuz' they are not making games for the NES anymore ;-;)
I think the sequel inspired Alan Moore’s version of The Invisible Man
He was one of the few horror movie monsters that actually gave me nightmares. Just the idea that someonw is out to kill you and can't see him. Who wouldn't be on edge?
Edgar Banuelos I wouldn't say that, but he's my favorite monster. He's so evil it's funny.
Perl - I saw this movie when I was 20.
I love how smart you are when it comes to movies you know alot more than I ever could and I'm quite a movie buff I love you angry video game nerd
Indeed! Worth noting though, and I hope he acknowledges it at some point, The Invisible Man Returns didn't win the Oscar for Best Special Effects (1940). It was nominated but lost to The Thief of Bagdad.
I read the book when I was in 6th grade. It scared the absolute hell out of me. I haven't reread it, but I think I will soon.
Here we go gathering nuts in May nuts in may
Here we go gathering nuts in may on a cold and frosty morning
This is going to be my Halloween costume.
In other words, if anyone says "I didn't see you at my Halloween party," you say "that's because I was the Invisible Man."
I haven’t read the book in years so I can’t really remember much from it, but I do recall thinking at the time that I liked all the film versions better. Even the Chevy Chase version Memoirs of an Invisible Man.
Ive never seen Abbot & Costello Meet the Invisible Man. Ill have to check that out
this is my favorite series out of the universal franchise The second is frankenstein
Somehow when I think of Invisible Man I always remember the movie with Chevy Chase.
gotta watch the last one u mentioned. loved when A&C meet the wolf man
there's was also the invisible man series
I remember all these invisible movies and yes I agree. That abbot and Costello meets the invisable man was the best one
Little known fact: before pursuing a career in comedy Lou Costello was a semi-pro boxer.
That's why the boxing scene was well done. Lou already knew how to move in the ring.
Nice! Now i want to watch this old movies :)
For some reason I wouldn't mind a remake of The Invisible Man. I guess there's just so much that can be done with the concept, as the original series shows
2020 is the year I finally got around watching the Universal Monsters classics.

A big fan of your videos AVGN. Keep the videos coming
Only one mistake in this overall great clip: The Invisible Man Returns revived Oscar nomination for Best Special Effects but the award went to Thief of Bagdad (1940)
Anyone see the boxing gloves in the 2020 remake? Is that a reference to Abbott and Costello?
My favorite classic monster
Is the 2020 remake really good.
I could listen to james talk about movies forever
4:08 original Fantastic Four #182 * Susan Storm(-Richards) waStill Invisible Girl @ that point and would be for ~ another decade of the series' publication.
Hey nerd I'm sure you realize this October the 13th will fall on a Friday. Very special indeed, I hope you have a video for us(I'm sure you will) :D
*Friday the 13th background whistles play*
I swear I remember a TV movie from the 90’s where Chevy Chase was the invisible man
Memoirs of an invisible man
Burping intro heh!, NICE!
man the things you could get away with being invisible.
Sometimes you can see the scraps of the footage at the bottom.
Was it just me or did I think of that line from "Science fiction double feature" where they mentioned this?
No? Just me? ;w; mk.
I thought of it too
The original is my all time favourite horror movie.
You guys need to make a play list with all of the videos that are the complete series
Do Dracula next
He needs a reboot! Curse Universal for fucking up the "Dark Universe".
I quite liked Invisible Woman and found it very funny. "Well did she say anything before she left?" "Yes, she said, 'Growley, Growley, here I come'". "Whaaa...?"
I've noticed this video's been edited to show stills of the movie, and not clips of the film. Is this because Universal owns the rights to this film??
have you done these in podcast form?
"i'm the invisible man" anyone know that song?
The original is the best.
So far, no remake. THANK GOD! The original Invisible Man is still one of a gold kind! :)
Hollow Man is kind of a remake, and it's a pretty good movie too. At least, a spiritual successor.
I agree, do not remake this classic. It would look terrible with the CGI cartoon effects.
For invisible woman ik James pointed out Shemp Howard was in it, but I’m surprised he didn’t mention that Margaret Hamilton and John Barrymore are also in it considering how much of a wizard of oz and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde fan he is.

I was never into the invisible man movie series. I have seen all the Frankenstein movies on both sides hammer and Hollywood. Also the Dracula movies of Christopher Lee and Bela. Wolfman only a few....
Loved the book and movie
Nan Gray is beautiful !
** They just re-made this one again..saw previews on tv 2nite..w/Elizabeth Moss. Will hav 2 see if it measures up....
Did you like it?
Hey James what is you view on the Hallow Man movies?
i wish you had used the term "uninvisible" at some point in this video
the intro sounds like someone burping while saying monster madness
Can't wait to see Johnny Depp play the Invisible Man
If that does happens but probably won't since the mummy reboot failed to start universals dark universe.
I hope the characterization is not just another Jack Sparrow or Mad Hatter.
Aitor Molina Yeah I can easily imagine him doing some bumbling weirdo again, except he's invisible this time.
At least he would be invisible.
Chris Brasel it did fail but they r already in post production of another movie in the Dark Universe (Bride of Frankenstein)
I've been watching these for years.... I swear I've never heard that burping intro before.
If this guy's invisible,then he's not worth meeting face-to-face
What about Hollowman, I know its really not a Invisible man series like the ones you listed but what do you think of the movie?
Universal and Blumhouse are working on a reboot next year
now there will be a new invisible man series anyone excited?
Now do "Memoirs of the Invisible Man" from 1992, "Hollow Man" from 2000, "The Invisible Maniac" from 1990, and "The Man Who Wasn't There" from 1983.
Which one had him put his hand in a fish tank?
If you guys want some horror movie reviews I recommend DR. Wolfula.
One of my fav movies ever
On Invisible Agent in real life it's common to make mistakes about origins so that would make sense.
their was also hallow man in 2001 i thought u would add that being exactly the same as invisible a remake with another name
4:42
I guess you could say they did NAZI him coming! 😺
I wonder if James had a few swigs of Rolling Rock to burp out the beginning ?
Had a bit to much soda for that intro, did you James.
lol sweet "monster" voice. i'm not sure burping it out was the best choice haha
The 2020 Invisible Man was okay I guess. Ending disappointed me.
On paper it was such a great way to revive the series too. Really smart concept.
There are so many invisible man movies......well I did not see that one coming
Stick with the universal series.
Burping intro. Best intro.
Didn’t several classic universal monster films get awarded oscars for special effects?
