I was told more than 10 years back that I was knocking on the doors of diabetes. Immediately I adopted a diabetic diet and started daily regular exercises. To this day my periodical Hb A1C test results have never crossed 5.7%. I am 72 years old and continue to jog for 40 minutes a day six days a week apart from doing stretching for 10 minutes before jogging. I hope to continue with this routine as long as possible.

To achieve the same what diabetic diet you are eating regularly slightly more, how are you managing all 7 days? What is your time of food intake it will be an eye opener? . Advance Thanks.

@@ravichandransubramaniam6169 I am a vegetarian but take two boiled eggs along with a couple of dosai or chapathi or 3 pooris/idlis. Twice a week or so I take a cup of Bengal gram or greengram sundal for breakfast. When I take sundal I take only one boiled egg. I take only a small bowl of rice (a little less than what is given as limited meals in a hotel along with a lot of green vegetables. I take a small cup of coffee or tea without sugar once or twice a day
In the evening I take about 75 gms of roasted ground nuts. For supper I take only a couple of dosai/chapathi or 3 idlis. I am 73 cms tall weigh about 69-70. My waist is about 87cms or so. I still wear very comfortably pants stitched 16 years ago. The simple idea is to eat no more than what you require or spend every day all the calories you eat. All unspent calories slowly get deposited as fat!

I was detected as diabetic during covid. I changed my diet and started intermittent fasting. Without medicines, I have brought my sugar level from 11.2 to 6.2 now. Also did exercise twice a day. Now since work from home has stopped, it has become difficult to exercise daily but I am continuing with my 16 hours fasting and exercise whenever I get time. In this process, I lost about 15kgs.

Dr.Pal, you are amazing. I love the way you mix humour with facts so well. For your information, I have been treated for Type 2 Diabetes for 20 years and matters only got worst. When Covid started I stopped travelling for work and commenced Intermittent fasting and now OMAD. My H1Bc has come down from 12 to 6.5. I sleep very well and have no more liver problems. I am 65. I wish I knew about OMAD and Intermittent fasting before. Anyway it is never late.
Please carry on your work. You are marvelous, funny d right to the point. Well done Dr. Pal

Thank you for your guidance, sir. I entered d diabatic club last year with HbA1C 7.8, coupled with peripheral neuropathy, which made it very difficult to walk. I was prescribed Tab Glycomet 500 (1-0-1) .. with the help of customized footwear n medication ftom vascular surgeon, I started to walk better within 3 months.. increased regular physical activity to atleast one hour per day, all with strict NO to sugary/hi-carb items.. included more salads n sprouts in my meal.. it took a whole year to bring down my hba1c from 7.8 to 5.5 .. added bonus : I weigh 11 kg less than last year 😊
I used to get more determined from your videos, to become non-diabetic again .. or keep it under control..

My American dr @ 2018 told me I was gaining 3 lbs every year and have to take metformin to reduce weight if not threatened me to put me on insulin. Luckily my dietitian went thru my reports and strictly told me not to take metformin and clarified me that my weight was just post delivery weight. She also told me to follow a strict diet with no carb , moderate protein, high fiber and calcium diet . I did as she said and also changed my dr as per her advice and today from 75 kgs to 67 kgs just in a couple of months of following omad. Iam still following omad . By god’s grace all good!

Doctor, I follow all your videos. But a clarification: Insulin doesn’t give energy, it allows glucose to go through cells by opening channels so that glucose can go into the cells and transformed to energy. When the channels (insulin receptors) get affected it leads to type two diabetes. Exercise helps to burn more sugar and possibly improve the transfer of sugar into the cells by making the channel to open.

@DrPal, I am 39 years I have type 2 diabetes, and it is 6.5 ( when fasting ). I understand from your session that weight loss is the only option to reverse my diabetes level. I am trying to follow a food plan of
1.) One small bowl of black rice porridge or one small bowl of boiled green moong dhal with brown rice with 2 egg omelettes. - usually around 9 AM
2.) Around 11 AM, I feel very tired, and my energy level is shallow. I take one whole apple. This energizes me. Without this, i am not able to concentrate on work.
3.) I start feeling hungry around 2 PM and have 1 small bowl of chicken curry/1 bowl of vegetables, and 1 small bowl of brown rice
4.) I again started feeling hungry & craving to eat and had to take some snacks like 1 small bowl of boiled peanuts around 5 PM
5.) I finish my dinner by 9 PM with 5 chappatis. Usually, I used to take more, but when i started to follow the above diet, I manage the chappati count between 4 and 5.
My major problem is that I am not feeling energetic, and my headache starts because of hunger. What changes i need to change my diet to feel energetic all day and reduce my belly fat. I want to stay away from heart disease. Let me know if i can connect with you for consultation.
