It appears that lock screen ads are only disabled when kids mode is enabled. When turned off, Lock Screen ads will populate. However, you can possibly get Lock Screen ads disabled for free by trying the tip in this video: ruclips.net/video/BNhznBsUn5w/видео.html
I just got the kids edition paperwhite. The ads or "special offers" are still disabled on my kindle even on the adult profile.

They do have good customer service. My sister-in-law broke her kindle. Completely her fault and not under warranty. They sent her a brand new one at no charge when she contacted them. Maybe the number of books she buys convinced them they’d make more money by supplying her with the means to feed her addiction for free than risking losing her as a customer.

We bought the kids edition for my stepson, and it was awesome! I decided when it’s time to replace my paperwhite, I’ll likely replace with a kids edition for the warranty/guarantee alone.

i've been binging your vids recently. can't remember how i found you but man am i glad i did. one of my new year's resolutions was to read more, i used to have an affinity for books and it's time to reignite that spark because i bought a kindle paperwhite (hehe.. pun... kindle.. reignite a spark) but this channel in the span of a week has been one of my favorites to watch.

Hello, I just watched this video and did I understood it correctly: I still can add Ebooks from PC as in regular kindle in formats what are supported by kindle (AZW3, AZW, TXT, PDF and so on)?
what is a extereme cirscunstanse for 4 leds ? :P I can't think on one. in sun light the led is not needed

The kindle kids that I have didn't put me in the kids account, it directly gave me the normal kindle view also when I want to get the subscription for kids+ it says to me error😢

Is it working like a normal kindle?
I tried ordering a 16 GB Paperwhite bundle. I get a message saying it can't be delivered to my home address nor can it be delivered to a local Amazon Locker location (southern California). Very frustrating.

@ileneglenn845 No, no European version. I split my year between California and Oregon. The bundle would have been okay to ship to my Oregon address but not to my California address. By the time I returned to my Oregon address the bundle was no longer being offered. I ended up buying a really, really cheap used Kindle and trading it in on a new one. What I ended up with was not as good a deal as the bundle that I wanted but still a pretty good deal.

Would the BEST Value Kindle be to try and buy a new battery for my 12 year old Kindle or just buy a new one?
Hmmm… that’s a tough one. I’m not sure how much it would be to replace a kindle battery so I can’t say. Sorry I’m not much help 😕

Like others have said, Ads will only be disable while kids mode is enabled. Also the weight/dimensions are much larger on the kids version. Kids is about 30% heavier and has a larger bezel.
Paperwhite: 6.9” x 4.9” x .32” (174.2 x 124.6 x 8.1 mm) - 7.23 oz (205 g)
Kids: 5.1” x 6.9” x .5” (129.2 x 175.5 x 13.5 mm) - 11.32 oz (321 g)
The differences in measurements taken literally from the Amazon page are simply due to the case. For example: Paperwhite Kids version have 321g (included case) read in the product description, so case weight: 116g
321g - 116g = 205g weight of both versions.
Same for width and height.
