i have a book/cover case with a little stand and hand strap and it’s so nice, i don’t particularly love how it looks (it’s supposed to look like old leather bound book) but it protects my screen, wakes the screen up for me and it makes it easy to hold it! and the cover has magnets so once it’s open it sticks to the back! i think it’s like the composition book one!!
I got the same fabric Amazon kindle case (same as your black one) with my Signature bundle on Prime Day deal: it eventually frays with light use. I wound up upgrading to the leather version and I love the minimal aesthetic and solid functionality of it. It’s a great case if you want to slide your Kindle into a tight space on the go - like a purse or a bag pocket - it’s so thin it just slips in/out effortlessly and adds minimal bulk. It’s been dropped, no damage, it’s showing no visible signs of wear and yet it’s used probably closer to 2 years now every day. The case is comfortable to hold with the cover folded back, however now I see your wife’s pop socket style knob and thinking I might add it to back… ;) Always great info, thank you!
Hey :) I’ve had a KleverCase on my kindle for over 6 years now and I’ve never had an issue with it falling out of the case or anything! The Velcro they use is army grade and it’s amazing, I always chuck the kindle in my bag and it still looks brand new (not so much the case haha but still in good shape considering the treatment it receives 😅). Also I’ve seen some ppl sticking the velcro to the back of a cheap clear case, that way you don’t have to commit to it on the Kindle and I guess you get some added protection too 😊
I have a Klever case with a Dteck silicone protective case (which is like the clear one you showed in the beginning) attached with the velcro inside and I just pop my Kindle Paperwhite in and out of it. I wasn't too keen on putting anything sticky on my Paperwhite, so this was my solution, and it has worked really well.
I had the official Kindle case at first, and didn't like how the case felt on my hand. I bought a different color (a lovely teal) of the one you showed that looks like a composition book. I really like the magnets in it, as well as the stand. I don't use the hand strap.
I tend to prefer cases that can cover the screen when the device is not in use (and I've never been a fan of the stick-on screen protectors), and I also like lightweight cases. When I bought my Paperwhite, I got the kid's edition which came with a plain Amazon black cover at the time, and I'm still using it. In fact, they shipped it with the Paperwhite already in it and I've never taken it out. As far as the Scribe case you showed us, I have the same one that I use for when I'm taking my Scribe out of the house (which rarely happens). The Amazon basic Scribe cover is great for around the house because it gets the job done and isn't heavy or obtrusive. I cringed at the price of the Amazon cover, but I'm glad I bought it. I have my Oasis in a blue MoKo case. I've had it for a few years now and I'm very happy with it.
I have the composition book version (different cover design though). So far so good. I like that strap when I’m reading in bed. It’s much easier to hold. I also like that the cover turns the Kindle on and off upon opening and closing it.
I got my first Kindle Paperwhite e-Reader yesterday and the "official" Kindle case arrived today! I am already hooked on reading e-Books on my new Kindle; and the case is perfect for my needs!
I have a denim blue kindle and have the same style case as your ‘library’ one on it in Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Not only does it combine my favorite piece of art with my love of reading, but the plastic ‘clip-in’ part is the same blue as my kindle, so it’s as if they were made for each other 🥰 Love the soft interior of it against the screen, and the magnetic feature, plus it is not bulky and has a nice feel in my hand…truly elevates my kindle to a ‘real book’ level. I got it on a Prime deal for $9.99, and definitely got a great deal for an awesome case that I love.
I have had my cover for three years now and it's still in perfect condition, it's useful and comfortable. It's the same as your composition notebook one but I have a stary night sky print. Definitely recommend
I plan to buy a new Kindle this weekend once the Black Friday deals start, so I appreciate this video. I was planning on getting the official amazon kindle cover, but I think I love the idea of getting a clear case and using stickers. Especially being able to change them out for different moods/books/seasons/etc.
@@isitlina I think that the difference with the basic model is that the screen is recessed below the surface of the frame, so the strap is less likely to touch the screen.
thanks for the video, I agree with your choice and this has helped me immensely over a newly acquired kindle. Still I wonder if that clear case you showed could be velcro inside the Klever case, that way the kindle can be taken in and out without the velcro directly.
I have the same Fintie as your “Library” cover (except in a different design, the “cosmos”). I like it a lot, no criticisms at all except I’ve only had it for about a year and the “hinge” is starting to fall apart. Even so, I like it so much I’ll most likely just replace it with the same item.
I'm curious if the journal looking one where your hand goes in if it's soft against your kindle screen. Also if you think stickers would stick to the material is made of? Currently mine has a rubber like texture that nothing will stick to.
I have a clear one and it’s ok, I don’t like to put stickers or anything. Recently bought the official one and I love it, feels like it protects more the screen having a cover, besides I like the texture 😂
I bought a plain black case like the Official Kindle Case, only it was 9.99. It has been working fine for the past week. Only complaint is that it doesn't have the magnet for it to stick to the back of the case when you are reading. I keep thinking about going with the clear case to be able to change out stickers, but I would worry about needing a screen protector. For now, I will just stick to what I have and use it until it wears out and needs replaced.
I'm soooo case fussy. I have the Scribe and it's been a struggle to find a good one. I love the minimalism and customisation potential of a clear case, but do worry about how protective it is if the Kindle is dropped and it would definitely need a screen protector. However, I generally like to feel that I'm reading a book, so like a cover that opens in that way, and a kickstand is a must for me. Aesthetically, the Klever case is a winner and I've toyed with one on and off but I just feel, for the price, it doesn't offer enough of anything - not enough protection for sure. And I hate the way the Kindle has to be attached. The Scribe is a big device and I just wouldn't risk it. The material seems a bit cheap too. But if they ever did something similar that was more secure and had a kickstand, that would be a hands-down winner for me. I've recently discovered Noreve cases (a French brand). They're hugely expensive, but look beautiful and you can choose the type of leather you want (I'm vegan and they even do a vegan or PU option), and you can pay extra for a kickstand. I had a Moko case for a year and that was great but started to wear a bit. I now have a brown leather-look case that I got from Temu and the quality is excellent but it's really heavy. The search for the 'perfect' case (especially for the Scribe, where there are fewer options)
I want the clear case BC it looks easiest to hold but I have the Kindle case BC my Kindle was on a great deal when I bought it as a package and I've stuck with the case for nearly 2 years now and I've had a puppy, now medium dog, who steps on my Kindle all the time and I really appreciate the screen protection that flipping the cover closed offers. Without it, I know my Kindle would be a hot mess! How do I know? I bought a Kobo last year and I got the skin type case like the clear but pink and I love the way it feels but within like 2 books I started to notice scratches on the black part (Kobo screen is sunken not flat) so I ended up ordering the kind with the flip cover and haven't had more damage. In that case I think it was partly dog and partly the fact I usually slide my Kindle/Kobo under my pillow when I'm done at night and I do place it screen down. My dog doesn't shed and I clean my sheets weekly but clearly small particles helped in scratching the Kobo. I do feel the Kindle is built tougher in general but I'm in Canada so if the dog crunches it I have to spend around 160 on a new one unless I get it on a great deal. If I were to be bringing my Kindle out of the house, I would probably bring a clear case with a popsocket your thing to change it into for ease of holding but I only ever read while at home or waiting on a parking lot for a kid! The Kindle branding doesn't bug me BC the second I flip it open is not branded to ppl looking at me. I personally prefer things without logos for ALL my things so the case you showed with the big logo was definitely not for me! I'm Canadian and I've had velcro things like that one come unglued in the summer at like 75 degrees, I can't imagine trusting the glue on that one outside of the home or if you live somewhere that's actually considered hot!
I had the library case with the composition book design, but I switched to the clear case. I like the customization and being able to see the book cover.
When I bought the Kindle Signature, I got the bundle that came with the Kindle branded cover. I hated it, and returned it. The case edges were too sharp and were digging into my hands, almost felt like they were being cut by it!
I got that same official amazon fabric one for mine, and a month later the edges are fraying and the rubber edges are peeling off. I otherwise i enjoyed it. Getting a new case for it already though.
I use a clear case and love it, but word of caution: you do need a pouch to keep the screen from scratching or other damage. Maybe it's double trouble, but I still love this case the most.
That library case is junk! I have a plain green mint green cover like that. Within a month, the tray where the kindle fits, began to break on the corners.
Hear me out: a Kindle case with a clear back for displaying cute stickers but also has a flip cover to keep the screen safe during transport (cover can be in plain colours, also can be cute prints!!) but the cover is DETACHABLE by MAGNET so we can remove it whenever we want while reading and also stick magnetic rings on the clear back so we can use cute magnetic pop sockets instead of flipping the cover back and putting pop sockets on the inner cover!!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹 I’ve scoured the Internet for a case like this and they don’t exist for Kindles! I have one of the varieties of that one too. They had the teal faux leather one for only $14.99. I love it. I put my library card in the pocket : )
Which one exactly do you have?

So I went and purchased the pink case on your recommendation and then went to your wife's site and bought some stickers! Ty!!!

Didn't catch the brand name of that last case? The composition cover w/ stand for $25 , like that reminds me of my young years in school😊

hey the small cutout around 9:20 is for the kindle paperwhite signature edition, that's where the light sensor is.
This cut is for a light sensor. PW SE can adjust brightness automatically.
Do you think you can stick the Velcro to the clear case then stick it in the book??
That case with the stand and hand strap, that leaves marks on the screen of the Paperwhite over time.
Glad I saw this. I was just about to get one!
i have basic and it doesn’t leave any marks on my screen 😦😦

Pros: it’s pink
Cons: everything else 😂
😂 basically!
That Velcro is a great idea. make your own case with any old book or old covers from ipads and tablets! damn..

What’s the best case for handling? Is a pop grip more comfortable than that composition notebook case?
I love my clear case with stickers.

Just keep your clear case and when you need to sling it into a bag just reverse it into the case so the screen is protected.
Job done ✔️
Is using a mangetic cover bad for your kindle??? Im afraid it might mess with the display or something just by being magnetic 😢
I have a fintie leather case with magnet, had it for about a tear and never had any problems. and it looks great.
Thanks for the kindle cover info. I received the official one as a gift but have wondered about others.

Definitely check out Torro Leather Case for the Kindle. It’s on the expensive side but damn this quality and look is unmatched
The cutout at the top is for the ambient light sensor (look close at your Kindle and you'll see it), for adjusting the lighting.
