I'm impressed. I watched a lot of reviews on these two tablets. I was really trying to decide which one to get. Somehow this was the shortest but also filled with the most content I actually wanted at the same time. Thank you!
The only devices that support Kindle books are Kindles and the official Kindle app. Because of that, I think a better solution is not to buy kindle books whenever possible. People being locked to a single vendor is bad in the long term.

@@NBTJacklyn But it is also wrong explanation. Pen does not have electric charge, it does not move ink inside. If it would be the true, you could just write, but you wouldn't be able to display already saved notes. It is e-ink screen with resistance touch-screen, displaying and note taking is fully controller by its CPU, and charge is generated in the display to move the ink, marker is just a pointer for touch-screen.
Apart from being wrong, why do you even need to know? I think telling you that you need to have a paid subscription and be online to convert Handwriting with a ReMarkable is better information !
Boox Go 10.3 is thinner than either of these, but still doesn't have the front light. I used a remarkable 2 for a year and switched to the Boox Note Air 3 and haven't looked back. 5 minutes with Calibre and deDRM and all my Kindle books are available as EPUBs.
Thank you so much for this video. On 5:15 you just gave me the answer that I needed to decide between the two. I love my Kindle Paper White but been thinking of upgrading it, I just wasn't sure if I could keep my Kindle books in the Remarkable. For me it just works best to stick to Kindle and keep buying my books on Amazon. The pen and handwriting functionality are super nice and might be something that I actually start using but it's really not something that I miss or feel the need to use at the moment. Having a portable reader with all the books I read at the same time is really my priority rather than something I can draw on. Thanks for the video and the information.
I would NEVER buy another remarkable product. My remarkable 2 just died after about 3 years. That's wayyyyy too short for such a premium/expensive electronic device.
While inexcusable, you may be able to get a replacement talking to support. Even if it isnt covered as it is out of warranty, they will sell you a refurbished one for 130 pounds in exchange for the broken device
I second vote to include Supernote in this review, doesn’t require a subscription (like Remarkable does for all features ) , it’s meant to last longer in terms of repairability and the ceramic pen tips are supposed to give a nicer writing experience. So glad that I’ve found your channel! And thanks for this review, been thinking about giving the Kindle scribe a go as it is discounted but still also drawn towards SuperNote Nomad
Thank you so much. I've always loved your practical reviews, and this review does not disappoint 😎 The past few months I have been looking at the Scribe Kindle and wondering how it stacked up. And now I know! Thank you again 👍🙏
I really like my Scribe, but wish it had keyboard functionality. That's the one thing making me kind of regret going with it over the Remarkable. Hopefully Amazon will add that functionality soon because I definitely look like the distracted boyfriend meme at this point.
I've been using an android tablet with a screen protector that mimics paper texture. My biggest complaint is that when I want to jot something down or write something, I have to wake the tablet up, log in, open an app, try to find my last entry, etc...basically the interface/device was just not optimized for writing anything. If I want to jot down info or an idea, I just want to pick up a device and begin writing. The shorter the path to that, the better.
I understand that Kindle Scribe can be an excellent device for reading ebooks, but I wonder whether it is a good device to read academic papers in PDF. I already have a ReMarkable2 and am looking for another device dedicated to just reading papers and doing some light annotation on them. I wonder if the screen is too small for that purpose and whether it is easy to load and unload PDFs into the device.
The Scribe and Remarkable 2 are 0.1 inch diagonal screen size difference. Why do you wonder if the Kindle screen is too small for that purpose, if you already have a remarkable2, and know what that's like?
Thank you for the info. But more than half of the video was NOT about comparing the two devices. I was expecting more of comparison base on your title.
I didn't hear anything in this video about having to have a paid for subscription to ReMarkable & having to be online to get txt conversion? It's important to know !
This was actually easy to understand Man, imagine if we see students writing notes and doing homework on E-Ink Displays 😁📖📃 I've always been excited for E-Ink!! 🦕
i need someone to tell me if you can actually write small in this tablets or you always have to do it like dinousaur footprint like I see in all the videos. any experience with small writing?
I think they just do that for legibility for the audience lol yeah you can write small. Very small actually, I only have experience with the scribe but I was surprised at how articulate I could be with it, but that also can depend on if you're using the marker or pen or pencil modes. You can also zoom in on PDFs which makes it a lot easier to write small even though it uses the same thickness if that makes sense.
I liked this video Jacklyn. I have a general comment on your videos: I feel like sometimes you could speak a little bit slower. It seems like you talk that fast because you are really excited about it, but sometimes at least for me, I can miss a few things you say because of this. Keep up the good work, I have been a fan for a while! :)
Helpful review, but I wish you talked slower. I want to get E tablet for taking notes at work for taking notes and site visits. It seems the Remakrkable 2 would be a better option. However, I'm sure the remarkable 3 will be coming out in 2025. Besides, wanting a backlight and perhaps more buttons, I think the remarkable 2 would be a better option for me.
Great review, enjoyed watching and the content is really relevant. I love my Paperwhite and would buy the Scribe at the drop of a hat. But, it's failure to work in any meaningful sense, with Microsoft Word or One Note, is a major dropped ball.
I think the reason why E-ink is something nobody wants to use. I don't say that people aren't buying it. I'm saying E-ink is designed so that you don't get distracted like you would with a phone.
