    Fantastic review. Thank you.
    I was debating with myself between the Scribe and the Remarkable 2, and based on this review, I think that the Scribe seems like the way to go for my usages. I tried the Remarkable at a store, and it's really nice, but I do read a lot, and the Scribe seems to be a better option to replace my PaperWhite.

    A big fault with the current Kindle software is not being able to actually remove a book from the home page back to the library, and not have it showing on the home page. This can be done on the Kindle App for the iPhone & iPad. I don't like all the clutter of books I have purchased but not read on the home page screens of my actual Kindle and Scribe.

    This is a really informative video! Just curious, can you doodle over PDFs? I have scanned textbooks that I want to write over for my classes and as much as I love e-ink tablets, I'm deciding between getting a Scribe or a mini ipad with a stylus. This is complicated by the release of the Kobo Libra Colour which I believe lets you doodle over books.

    • @jamesleeshin
      @jamesleeshin  4 месяца назад

      You can’t doodle or write freely over PDFs, very limited to a few PDFs that you can on. You can take notes but it’ll be saved separately in “notes”

    It´s an amazing device and the best e reader I've owned, but it is extremely fragile. One accidental drop and the screen is gone. Amazon refuses to repair it even if you pay for it. I am back to my Paperrwhite 2013, which has suffered many falls and it´s still working as if it was still 2013. The problem is now the screen looks miniscule, I am thinking on buying a Inkpad Lite. No more kindles for me, terrible customer service.

      Ive thought the same thing and tried several alternatives since I bought my first Kindle in 2009. But I always return. Others offer a better UI, some offer nicer hardware. Many offer more freedom and flexibility. But NONE come remotely close to the Amazon Kindle ecosystem, that’s the rub. If you don’t mind using multiple e-book stores to try and find what you’re looking for, questionable support from companies based primarily in China (or Russia, in the case of Pocketbook) and you’re adventurous about sideloading and maybe pirating some ebooks and tweaking settings to your heart’s delight, then i heartily recommend jumping ship.
      But anyone who is looking for an e-reader/tablet that “just works” and has every book available you can think of in one place, U.S. based support and the confidence the company and product will be around for many years to come, well, the Amazon Kindle is by far the best option for now. l have a love-hate relationship with Amazon like many people, but I’m too old and tired to play activist with my purchases decisions at this point. I just want a device I can trust 100% with a solid, established ecosystem. That’s what the Kindle offers.
