WHAT???? Kindles have ads??? You pay for a product and then have to pay extra to remove ads? That's NOT a thing in my country, thank god. What the hell...
The Kindle Scribe is so worth it. Some books, like comics for example, don’t allow for larger text. The big screen changes everything. I actually upgraded from an Oasis (which I still love) to a Scribe because it makes it much easier to read Chinese and Japanese text that isn’t adjustable. I’m 47. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
I bought the Kindle Basic on Black Friday 2021 for $50. I got it in white. Six months later I bought the Kindle Signature edition. Personally, I like the smaller basic version overall because it is smaller. Sometimes I wish it had buttons I could push to turn the page because I’m having to constantly pick up my hand and turn the page but I guess you do that with a regular book anyway. I really enjoy it and it’s easy to stick in my purse.
If reading is your priority Kindle basic is more than adequate and great value for money. Once you put it in a cover, it becomes a tank with maximum portability.
Not sure if this still works but when I got my kindle a few years ago I contacted Amazon support through chat and had them remove the ads from my device for free, so it's at least worth trying. Having to pay $20 to remove ads from a device I paid nearly $100 for is stupid lol
I got the kindle scribe to replace the Kindle DX I have had for about 10 years. What an upgrade. Fast, and larger at 10.2 inches over the 9.7 inches. Books with illustrations, newspapers, pdfs, and comics are awesome to read on this device. It flies faster than the crazy quick kindle paperwhite signature edition.
One important advantage of the Kindle Scribe… ( and often missed in reviews) is the much larger escreen. Many older readers, as well as those with visual challenges, will benefit regardless of the note taking function.
@@JimzAuto I love my iPad Pro (also 12.9”) for any reading hat is mostly during the day. Right before bed or when my eye strain is bad (my eyesight is horrid enough already) I still love my older Paper White. Granted, my weirs are weak as anything and I much rather would use (if my nephew hadn’t broken it) the older iPad Pro 10.5” I doubt I’ll be buying another kindle any time soon/. Your the best youtuber. You helped me make my choice. I'm thinking of getting thr 11th gen paperwhite because I'm a bookworm and will need to take it EVRRYWHERE. So the waterproof option will be very good.
I bought the oasis in October last year. I love it. Love the size and buttons. I only read about 30 minutes a day so the battery life hasnt been an issue for me at all, especially due to using it on the lowest brightness setting.
The Signature edition is currently on sale 🎉 I just purchased mine. This will be my first Kindle. I’ve been binge watching your channel since I ordered it.
Got here looking for information about the kindle paperwhite signature edition. Very complete video, straight to the point and also I appreciated the info about the scribe edition. Great job!!!!
I've had the Kindle 11 Gen since 2021 and I'm really happy with it. Since December 2022 I also have the basic in blue. Since then I've been using the PW at home and the Basic on the go, since it's a lot more compact. I actually wanted an Oasis but it doesn't have a USB C yet. A nogo for me.
thank you so much for this review. I have been looking everywhere and trying to figure out which Kindle and I believe I have figured it out since I watched your video.
I’m so torn between the Oasis and and the paperwhite signature. I really wish a new and improved Oasis would be released. I love the pro’s, but the con’s really make me hesitate.
I got the oasis despite knowing it has bad battery life. Thats the con i was most hesitant on but i really wanted the buttons. And It’s true. I hVe to charge every 2 days or every day when I’m reading a lot. But somehow the buttons make it okay lol. Game changer. But if a new oasis comes out ill probably get one.
I have owned numerous Kindles over the years. I have gone back to the Kindle basic because it is the ONLY one that doesn't have a flush front. I wish they would make the the Kindle paper white with a sunk screen I would go definitely purchase it
I have a Kindle PW5 (and have used the PW3, PW4 and Oasis before). If I had to buy a new one, I'd go for the Paprwhite again. The larger 6.8 inch display really is a treat, however the 7 inch of the Oasis doesn't feel like that much of an upgrade. This new Kidle basic is basically a slightly faster Paperwhite 3, which is nice!
Great video my friend. It helped me a lot to decide about upgrading my 6th generation paperwhite kindle. I’ll got for the paperwhite signature because of the auto light adjustment. It has a nice discount currently. Thanks for making this video.
This fall, including right now, the Oasis 3 has been on sale for $165! I never saw any version of Oasis on sale until this fall, so I wonder if Amazon might be clearing their inventory for an Oasis 4.
@@JimzAuto Yes, the Scribe has replaced the Oasis as their luxury Kindle. That it hasn't page turn buttons suggests to me an effort to keep them exclusive to Oasis for the people who like that feature a lot. If so, Amazon would not retire the Oasis, but the Oasis badly needs an upgrade to a battery as good as that in the Paperwhite 2021 & a somewhat larger screen.
@@williamlaine2116 I think the Oasis size will stay the same as it’s ‘just perfect’ for a cargo pocket. Reducing button blackout area could make for a larger screen.
I bought my kindle paperwhite in May 2017 (generation 7 i think, the white one), and I will have a kindle in my life as long as I breath lol I read more often thanks to it. I still REALLY love physical books, but since I am afraid to damage them, I keep the paper version at home, and take the ebook version with me everywhere lol I just wish to see another white kindle paperwhite in the future ♥
I upgraded to the Oasis a year before they updated the models so no need to upgrade, but I needed to figure out what the heck these differences are before I buy the one my mom has on her wishlist so thanks for the round up.
I just want to say thank you so much. My wife has been reading so much. She got the kindle unlimited and uses her phone and our IPad Pro but the phone is to small and the iPad is to big. I think this will be perfect for her. I think I might get the signature one.
I think the on/off buttons are very sensitive on every Kindle. I hate cases but I put a passcode such that it cannot simply turn on all the time and change my settings and position in the book.
I got the signature this year only because it was $50 off and the price of the 8gb one. If I had to get a different option I feel the 16gb one that came out this year is a nice sweet spot. I haven’t used the wireless charging but I do enjoy it with the screen brightness adjustment, no ads automatically and peace of mind with space

Great video. Thank you.
The signature edition is the definite "GO TO", but The Scribe however, is the "Emotional Pick" or "Wildcard" you you put it. Heretofore, I will keep my powder dry until after the reviews. Does the Oasis fit in the future in the line up?
I wonder about this! Is the Oasis being phased out? Is the Scribe an "Oasis 2.0"? I have zero interest in the Scribe for myself (I have a bougie Signature Edition that I adore) but I am so curious about the Scribe and who it is best suited for.
