    She wanted to cause a Mistrial, made it happen but also told people she was going to do it how dumb.

    I think that it is so unfair that one is not paid a wage for jury duty. At least $20.00 an hour. Everyone else is getting paid judges, lawyers, clerks, security.

      @itsyoursisterro  7 месяцев назад +1

      I believe you do get paid however it's not a lot of money. Some people can afford to do jury duty for weeks and not be affected financially, while others can't afford it which most likely happened to this lady.
      So it is unfortunate and unfair jurors don't get a decent wage for their service.

      It’s totally unfair. But it doesn’t excuse Kayla de Peña’s conduct.

    Playing devils advocate…. She told them countless times she has to go to work. What no one knows is she lives paycheck to paycheck, paying the bills by herself. What the court was paying, and the time they told her she was gonna have to miss work would’ve left her not able to pay her rent. She asked them many times to remove her from the case and they all declined her. So not for nothing that was the courts fault….they pay you like $50 a day for 12-14 hours at times, and act like that is enough to pay someone’s bills. What they need to do is if someone has a job they need to have them bring in a stub for the past 4 weeks and give the person who is staying the average pay they have been making. They make it impossible to get out of this and then play stupid wondering why it happened. I don’t really blame her since she straight up asked them to replace her because she was going to lose her home….. that’s the justice system for you freaking a mess. 🙄 😒

      No you're a freaking mess writing a whole dissertation in this comment section.
      You're talking foolishly trying to justify what this lady did.
      The way she went about getting out of her obligations as a juror was wrong, and the fact that you don't understand that, like the people on the Internet say, "accountability is like kryptonite" to you also.

      @@itsyoursisterro Im a mess for commenting on a post YOU created that was made to be commented on. Lol who’s really foolish… uhhhhh you! As i stated Im playing devils advocate. Which means Im looking at it from both sides, just to educate you a bit. No one said she was right. What i said was i don’t blame her because she straight up asked them may times before it even started to be let go because she lives paycheck to paycheck and if she misses 2-4 weeks of work she won’t be able to pay her rent. Not sure if you know but, the pay for being on jury duty is the lowest of the low. There was no winning in that situation for her. Maybe you’re ignorant of the situation because you’re not in her shoes living paycheck to paycheck, so maybe try putting your foot in her shoes instead of in your mouth, or in this case, on your fingers since you’re typing.

      @@itsyoursisterroI mean if she asked repeatedly to be taken off the case and they didn’t, I don’t blame her. She was literally about to end up homeless. So what would you have her do? Stay on and then lose her housing l? We’re you gonna pay her rent, or give her a place to stay? Or pay her salary? No you weren’t. It’s easy to call someone selfish when we’re not in their shoes

    • @itsyoursisterro
      @itsyoursisterro  7 месяцев назад

      @@PrincessZaire100 Then you should reach out to her and pay her rent since she is going to need it when she gets out of jail.

    I think it was a harsh sentence. Someone who dont want to be on a juror shouldn't how is that ever fair.

    • @itsyoursisterro
      @itsyoursisterro  6 месяцев назад

      It's not that she didn't want to initially do it's she needed to go to work and the pay they were giving was not enough so she lied to cause a mistrial is how she went about getting out of jury duty that's why she got sentenced
