Have you tried Tung Oil? I read somewhere else that yes, Linseed Oil softens the top ply and makes it have a Hinoki feel when playing. He puts it on his defensive blade and it has a soft feel and increased feel. His defensive game is better because of it. I figured that some oils will harden, and I'm thinking if Tung Oil will harden and make it have a Koto type of feel instead. 🤔
hello sir I use tensor robber How can I maintain the state of being springy? The strength (speed)of the robber ends after four days. Something other than boster. Thank you for helping me
Four days sounds unrealistically short. Typically the bulk of the factory-boosting effect subsides after ~20-30 hours, and is gone after 50 hours. There is no alternative that I know off, to bring bounciness back (and even so, it won't feel the same as the new rubber).
Dear @ThePongProfessor, Could you recommend a glue that goes well with polyurethane sealers? We have a problem that we have bought a factory sealed blade and no glue can stick the rubber to it. We have tried sanding a previous blade lightly with fine grain sand paper, but after applying glue, the blade deformed. What should we do?

I'm interested in using shellac too. I like that it is not a permanent seal, so one can remove it using alcohol. I think a dewaxed, transparent shellac would work best. The premade liquid shellac should problably be avoided, use shellac flakes and dissolve it in alcohol.
Hi there, great job, 👌 Regarding the oil base varnish- the only one available- in our market I guess.. do advice using it with alc blades like viscaria!? No issues with that !
@ThePongProfessor And what about the wood🪵general sealer ( nitrocellulose) which diluted by thinner 🤔.. I believe it's great sealer but won't harm an alc blade!?
Hello mr Professor! I have a question: After sealing the blade with the Revolution 3 varnish, my rubbers won't stick to the blade even after 2 layers on each (blade + rubber). Any suggestions to fix this without having to remove the varnish from the blade with a sandpaper?

Haha - So, somebody noticed :). I was planning on testing it, but ran out of identical blades. I have used it extensively in the past: Briefly, it soaks into the blade quite a lot. It doesn't leave a film and you use essentially the same amount of glue whilst assembling the blade. It only provides moderate protection against moisture and splintering in my opinion. It does not change the playing properties at all.
@@ThePongProfessor That was my experience as well, I've been using that for the most part of this year (probably on about 50 blades or so). There is a slight color change to the blade after applying, but no noticeable layering like the RV3 mentioned in the video. The rubber peels off a lot easier after applying this which is the main reason I kept using it. And I also didn't notice any playing characteristics change after applying it. Btw, I recently got a bottle of sealer from Soulspin, they referenced it to be re-applied after 3 - 4 rubber changes, and the bottle will expire after about half a year. Is there something that you've tested that resembles that?
@@DukeGaGa Agreed on the color change (slightly darker). I only found it to be somewhat easier to remove rubbers afterwards (nothing like the polyurethane or RV3). Haven't tried the Soulspin sealer.

Is blade sealing very common? I sealed one blade and didn't like it. I have used the same blade for years and the sealed version was completely different. It felt like a waste of a blade...
If you don't change rubbers very often, there is little reason to seal the blade. However, if you change rubber frequently, it would be a good idea to seal the blade. @@brianferrer9178 It very much depends how often you play, how you store rubbers, etc...If you cover your rubbers with protective film, then as a general rule of thumb you should expect to replace your rubbers x times per year, if you play x times per week. Play twice a week, use two sets of rubber per year. Some rubbers last longer. For me, playing four times per week: sticky chinese rubbers like H3 can last 12-24 months and still play well. Tenergy rubbers are high quality and can last reasonably well for 4-6 months. Most others last me ~3 months.

Try using a thick latex glue.
why don't you seal the handle part too , to protect the wood from palm sweat ?
I worry about the handle getting too slippery. And I have just never seen palm sweat as a big problem as it pertains to playing characteristics. .
Have you ever tried to seal the handle to prevent sweat & dirt stains? Which one one would be the least slippery in your opinion
Personally, I would not seal the handle with any of the sealers out of fear it would become to slippery
