Hello there!!! Please! Please! Make a video about best amateur rubber and best amatuer blades... And also best all around rubber/baldes... Since most of the viewers are amateurs to intermediate players and it will be useful to us.😃🙂
very good video and personally I have tried most of these rubbers but it must be detailed that there are rubbers that work very well on the backhand but not on the forehand and on the contrary everything depends on the level of each player and I agree a lot with the Dignics 09c since In that series the rubbers last many months, but Butterfly didn't like that so they have reduced the durability of this series. I don't know about the other models 05, 64, 80 but with the 09c it lasts much less than before, the same at the level of the Tibhar rubbers are very good but they don't last at all, just like the tenergy 05 rubbers, which are very expensive for the durability they have.
So what rubber would you recommend for someone who spins well with a lot of rotation but usually spins over the table when opposed to somoene who is a fast contra player?
I didn't understand the question very well but if it is your case that you are the player who is looking for a lot of spin on the table and playing against someone who is waiting for your attack to counter it, it is difficult to know since everything depends in this case on the hardness of the rubber and of the spring effect of the same rubber and that determines the control of your game, currently the most common hardness used is 45° degrees on a European scale onwards as well as what wood you are using to have the best balance between spin speed and control and if If you tell me what equipment you use, I could maybe tell you what is the best thing you could use for your style of play.@@C-handle-r
Great video and intense research. Really appreciate the content and hardwork put in along with accurate statistics. The data displayed is very correct and Thank you :) Would also await the same kind of video for Blades and Ply as well. (Carbon and All Wood)
I greatly appreciate the helpful video on rubber reviews as it significantly aided my decision-making process amidst the overwhelming array of options. I was wondering if a similar video is available for reviewing blades on your platform. If not, can I kindly request a review of blade options as well? Thank you.
I'm surprised that Yasaka Mark V is in there, that dates back to late 70's I think as a Brand, although it's probably changed abilities over the years. Thanks for the list Tom. regards from Yukon.
Plenty of coaches still recommend that rubber to their beginner students as their first rubber. Whether they should or not in 2024 is another conversation...
Most Hurricane Neo 3 users who try the Battle 2 Provincial blue sponge seem to think it's better, and many swap. The issue is, not enough are willing to try new things... It's honestly fantastic. I suspect people think they're buying the same rubber as Ma Long, they're not. The National version is nothing like the Neo that everyone buys, and then boosts, which lasts a month or two, and still isn't as good as the Battle 2P BS.
@@Lawsy2 im one of that rubber user..and i approved that..1st i use 729 battle 2 OS and feel great..i thought i would be better with more famous rubber, changed to Nittaku Fastarc G-1, then again to Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft..but i just couldnt feel the same with Battle 2..Then i use Battle 2 Prov. @@amirfirdaus3198 Nice! I'm trying Battle 3 (black, 39) at the moment, and it plays very similarly in most ways, with a bit more low-end punch. I'm noticing, though, that even after several weeks of daily play, it cleans up like it's brand new. B2P BS already has amazing durability (especially compared with H3N), so I don't know how 729 has given Battle 3 enhanced longevity without lowering performance. It's pretty impressive and worth a try.
@@azimhirji5408 Ali Express. One of the most reputable stores is "BEO". 8 months of weekly abuse and B3 is still playing well. The rate at which it slightly loses its tack (the mechanical grip is huge still), is the same rate it gains more mid-range. It feels more like a 39 now, only, it's harder to bottom out. Hope that helps.
Thie Dignics 09c is definitely priced higher than others, but so far it has lasted 3 times longer than previous rubbers I have used. The current sheet I have is almost 1 year old.
andro rubbers are not durable, not easy to control, pretty expensive and have silly names. Nevertheless, I know so many players buying andro rubber and/or blades, apparently the best selling table tennis brand in Germany
Hi Tom, great piece of research. Dignics 09c was great but just too expensive at c. £80 a sheet. I would be interested to see the top 20 sorted by price. I've gone to the DHS 3 Neo at £24.99 a sheet instead of the 09c at £80. I personally think being able to have new rubber more often works better for me.
Hi Tom, as someone who has tried a few different things I can probably guess what ones on that list are mostly used for FH (for example D09C/H3 etc) and which ones mostly for BH (rakza 7, R42 etc) but I think it would be useful information for you to include in future videos. Anyway, thank you for the information, good video
I've put a breakdown of most used rubbers for FH and BH at the very bottom of this article: www.tabletenniscoach.me.uk/top-20-most-popular-table-tennis-rubbers-in-2024/
Hi Tom. Great video. I've been using a Victas V22 for forehand in a Harimoto Innerforce ALC blade. I found it very interesting. Switched to Dignics 05, felt like holding a bit better the ball, less grippy than V22. Both are great rubbers. You should try V22. Regards from Lima, Perú.
Tabletennis has been my sport since 2 months. I have a standard Cornilleau racket. Are they good enough for now or should i invest in a better one or different rubber?
Hi Tom. How long do you play your rubbers usually? What would you be recommend amateur level players to play rubbers at maximum for 3x training a week? in months and maybe also training hours!! thanks a lot
great review! can you do another say top rubbers for under $50? i just bought DHS Hurricane 3 for $28.00ea. thanks for your content, i am an intermediate ole guy. but have loved the game for many years, so thank you sir.
Thanks. Just one point: when you say something like there are so many choices, so save yourselves a headache and pick something from this list, I would argue that there is almost no rubber suited for beginners or really low level players on that list. There are a couple which aren't too fast/springy (Mark V / Hurricane), but they're very grippy, and all the others would be ranked from Off- to Off+ I think. I guess this is because the people who answered your survey are, as you mentioned, mainly intermediate to advanced players, who most probably already have invested in and tried out multiple rubbers. So if you are in that playing level bracket, yes, staring from this list is probably a good idea, but if you're not, check out other reviews before spending around 2 x 50$ for rubbers that will be unusable for you.
Well, for a beginner who starts playing in a club and is doing drills with a coach I would think Mark V is very good (or would be, if it wasn't so overpriced). It's grippy, but a lot less so than modern high-end rubbers. If you want to develop and get used to spin you need a grippy rubber. But for a player who just wants to play with friends and got no interest in practicing table tennis there are better options
Having played 09c not sure if it’s an ideal rubber for blades. It doesn’t play as well with slower and softer blades. Plus you need faster racket speed.
Thank you very much for the video. I have a question. I play with nittaku fastar P. I tried it many years ago, I liked it and I've been playing with it ever since. What is the difference with the G1? Thank you so much
Im using 2 different rackets depends on the player i match.. Mostly i use my: tibhar akkad with the yasaka rakza X soft and the tibhar aurus.. If i play againt pimples or anti then i use: tiga carbo kev with friendship R.I.T.C. and the TSP Curl P-3
I have the rakza 7 red as my BH. SUPER nice, easy to control... very good. My FH is donic blue star. Love the speed but not as spinny as id like, and less than one year later its lost its tack. Going to try dignics 05 and fastarc g1 to replace the blue star. I think ill land more loops with a bit more spin.
I change my rubbers every 6-7 weeks, but I practice 4 times a week and play competition at the weekend. Tenergy 19 and 05FX. It‘s a quite expensive sport🙈
many rubbers to choose from and many blades as well, then figure out which rubber will fit best with which blade, after reading loads I think I am still confused
I have played with Tenergy 05 for years. Honestly, it is not what I call spinny. Has a high tension foam and I would say it is bouncy. My backhand is very good so I play it on that side. Unless one doesn't have the right technique, it is quite difficult to block/control the ball jumps out, so you need to almost pull in before going forward.
I used Tenergy 80 fx on a slow blade for good spin. Was advised to try Andro R42 at around half the price (in Australia) on my second blade. Faster and grippier, it took a while, but the Tenergy 80 felt relatively lifeless when I tried the other blade again. I've stayed with the Andro, I like it better and it's much cheaper.
Interesting: I will give it a try. Also playing Tenergy 80FX. What is your experience on durability? Greetings from Germany (and thanks for this interesting video) :)
Do you know of any good resources for theorizing backhand rubbers on a Avalox P500? I love the chinese style of play with powerful and long stroke spins on forehand, but I have a hard time finding the right type of backhand rubber for this style of play with a flexible and hard blade (koto outer layers creating bounce instead of the rubber creating bounce). I am looking for rubbers that dont have an excessive amount of bounce, but that is able to grip the ball at high speeds and add gears to the impact through the flex and bouncyness of the blade itself, all the while fascilitating the ability to generate spin in short strokes, like how the backhand stroke is.
Butterfly 09C is much slower than Tenergy05, but the ball stay on your racket longer which helps with generating more spin...if you commit to a full/completing the movement (e.g. backhand) then you can add speed too. Is it easier to play with compared to Tenergy 05? Yes...is it faster? No, but it compensates with added control and spin. For a player with a strong backhand I prefer Tenergy 05, but Dignics 09C works too...No comments on using it on forehand, I play with Hurracane Neo.
I don't know which rubber to buy or use anymore, i lost my motivation for playing as i gained weight and lost my fitness while many players i know got training to compete at best level, i didn't have any training so i remained as beginner, but nevertheless, i keep buying so so many blades and rubbers, and i can't find any play style to suit me as sometimes i when with offensive style and other times i win with defensive style against different players, what i want to say is that if i am good then no matter which rubber it will work for me, if i am not good then no rubber can help me anyway.
Hey I'd like to know what the green rubber is? I mean which brand.. I'd like to play a green rubber on my forehand😅 If you help me out, that would be great.. Greetings from Germany

Not a surprise seeing butterfly on top. With all other brands getting way too expensive for what they offer many people can justify returning back or to the (arguably) best rubbers out there.
@@АлексейПешков-г8ь Here in Germany you can't buy butterfly in a regular store. There are dedicated butterfly stores. and in my experience they really care for your playing style and level and recommend equipment based on this information. But yea I've been down the "best blade, best rubbers based on what the pros play" route, too. Takes a lot of guts admitting your level isn't quite up there 😁
Interesting but most of those rubbers are so expensive😬😬😬😬,..I'll use Yinhe Moon Pro on my FH because it's cheap and somehow like DHS hurricane rubbers...
Fx has a softer sponge, it's more suited for players who play lots of spin but less speed. Dwell time will be a bit longer with the Fx. The difference is not huge though...
Hey pls help Im looking for bh rubber that counters backspin mainly that digs into balls and pushes close game Behind the table i usually use bh drives So someone suggest me a cheap rubber Xiom vega pro or xiom vega europe
A big parameter is longevity to compare the price. D80 is still good after a complete season. 80euros is not so expensive. T05 is alive for 3 month so 60euros is very expensive. D09C is my favorite on Forehand because H3N from DHS need booster so i need 2 bats to boost and play at the same time. For backhand D80 is a beast. I am not a Butterfly fanatic but i have to recognize that theses rubber are simply the best. Pro players are not stupid and use it for their abbilities to give an amazing playing in front of Chinese players with DHS national rubbers. An over point is witch wood you paired with? A good rubber on a cheap blade is not effective. A very good carbon blade with a cheap Chinese rubber works better. So 1st, a good blade, very good! Then an appropriate rubber but with the plastic ball and the modern playing style, harder is better. Popular is not the proof that it's the best way. People wants a rubber who works in place of them. Developing physical ability, mindness and technic is the right way. Have a good day.

Of course brother your choice
I mount dignics 09c on my hurricane long 5, so far so goos
What about GEWO nexxus XT 50
Not a surprise seeing butterfly on top. With all other brands getting way too expensive for what they offer many people can justify returning back or to the (arguably) best rubbers out there.
True.. They should have sticked to the lower price range.. But they probably think: high price price = premium status
When amateur player visit a table tennis shop he says: "I want the best racket regardless the price". Imagine what he would get.
Takes a lot of guts admitting your level isn't quite up there 😁
I did not like the dignics 09c. Feels kind of dead to me. So I went back to the good old tenergy 05.
D09C has a hard sponge, sticky top sheet and low throw? sounds like Friendship Battle 2? 😆
Interesting but most of those rubbers are so expensive😬😬😬😬,..I'll use Yinhe Moon Pro on my FH because it's cheap and somehow like DHS hurricane rubbers...
dignics 09c is my rubber, I can ensure you that it is the best
Nice moooves
what difference can be between Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 05 Fx?
Fx has a softer sponge, it's more suited for players who play lots of spin but less speed. Dwell time will be a bit longer with the Fx. The difference is not huge though...
thanks Bas, much appreciated...@@aseq2
Hey pls help
Im looking for bh rubber that counters backspin mainly that digs into balls and pushes close game
Behind the table i usually use bh drives
So someone suggest me a cheap rubber
Xiom vega pro or xiom vega europe
Awesome
Forehand? Backhand?
i like this
What about joola energy extra
Seeing this video I made choice butterfly rozzena
My personal opinion: Tibhar brand is number 1.
