- As I researched how to setup the Elgato HD60 on my Xbox One I noticed there are a lot of outdated and unclear videos with many people still struggling to setup their capture card and/or figuring out how to record their mic audio along with party/game chat. Hopefully you find this “how to” video to be clear and helpful, if so a thumbs up and sub would be appreciated!
If you have questions I will try to help but I'm no pro in this matter, just showing others what I was able to figure out.

If you're having a hard time hearing your own voice, try changing the chat mixer under settings to "reduce volume of other sounds by 50%"
Mr R0B0T X just wondering will this still work if your tv doesn’t have speakers? I mean will the elgato still pick up the party chat? (I’m just curious because I have a moniter with no speakers
When I use my HD60s elgato and hear my own voice , it sounds ear rapey .

Bro I had my mic monitoring on zero, as soon as I turned it all the way up I could finally hear myself. You don’t know how much you helped me. It’s always the simple things when setting up your obs,elgato,etc. thank you

I'll be honest, I've had this HD60 for years and never have ever thought about why I couldn't record my audio because I mainly use text-to-speech programs or subtitles to represent my voice. Now that I know about this simple cable, I feel like an idiot.

My OG Xbox One doesn't have audio settings shown at 3:02. I found a similar option for audio under streaming/capture, so I hope that's correct. It too was only set to 4 out of 10 so I'll crank that up and try it later. Thanks for the video!

Thank you! Clearest tutorial for this I could find. I’ve been fumbling with settings for awhile now. I recently was able to get party chat to record but my voice is soft and echoes slightly. Party members are loud and clear. I went to edit a multiplayer match, no party involved and I have no audio recording at all. There was plenty of smack talking though.lol I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I’m going to go step by step with the settings you provided and see what happens. Thanks again. Any tips or advice would be very appreciated.

Everything works, it's just that my voice is really low while I'm talking.
First make sure you are talking prominently with the mic fairly close to your mouth. You could also set the chat mixer (under Display & Sound) from "do nothing" to "reduce the volume of other sounds by 50%"
That’s my same issue, I just sound low.

@@LeonitusKing no, I just use the mic on the laptop, but the bad thing is that it picks up the clicking on the remote.

It records party chat just fine but I doesn't pick my mic up unless I talk very loud. I have audio output set to both headset and speakers and I also have mic monitoring all the way up.

edit: first my xbox screen wouldn't display on my pc and i did something and it fixed, then i couldn't hear my game and i literally just unplugged and plugged back in and it worked, so i got lucky lol

You have to put it through the TV speakers in order for the capture card to pick up the audio. The gameplay and chat audio should be heard through your headphones still so you can just mute the TV while you play.

My capture card is not getting reconized when I connect it through usb but I don’t have the original cables and I downloaded the stuff so the gd and sound capture stuff is on my desktop and it’s not connecting

I tried this but I’m having an issue, I can hear everyone in the party/game chat perfectly fine but not my boyfriend (who is the one connected to the elgato) we tried lowering the chat mixer to 50 and even 80% but it is still so silent you have to hold the speaker up to your ear and still barely hear him. My recording can hear my game chat and my xbox party chat but the problem is hears me but its sounds low
Ok so when I record when I’m in a party everything works fine everyone’s audio is on the video, but when I go to game chat it picks up game audio but it doesn’t pick up anyone in game chat, although it does pick up my voice

TheBlueRage you maybe have a older controller. You need a new Xbox one controller because it will have a hole with it

How would this work with the Astro a50 wireless headset (2019 version) and the Elgato hd60s+ I can’t here game lobby chat but if it’s privet chat I can hear everything fine.

Ima try this out after I get off work, I should still have the splitter cable for controller and headset. If it works, you’ll definitely get a sub to the channel bro!
my game chat echos and im not sure how to fix it
Sometimes my pay viewer opens in full screen and sometimes opens with all the tools showing (80%) screen.
When I do your settings the elgato picks up my voice but not the party and the party can’t hear me
Make sure the USB C cable is a 3.0 cable because it won’t work with a 2.0 cable
I can record my own voice but it won’t let me speak in the game party, please help?

I have an HD60 S and have no option for both analog and hdmi for setting in elgato capture software. I can hear xbox audio and party excluding me. I am using a chat link as well
I have set up my Elgato Hd60 on my Xbox One and can hear gameplay and party chat fine with the party chat link cable when I rewatch the footage.However I cannot hear my own voice in the recordings. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative.
Elgatos can’t record input audios such as your headset. Only output. So you will need an extra microphone/headset connected to your pc to record your own audio. Two headsets are doable but I’d recommend a separate mic such as a yeti mic.

I followed all of your steps with my elgato HD 60S and the only issue I don't have is the Audio with the mic monitoring... When I press the Xbox home button and go all the way to the right, I can't find that Audio option..
The audio option pops up when you have headphones plugged in. Maybe it's an issue with your headphones if they're plugged in but that option isn't showing
Im plugging my mic into the xbox adapter thing(have the old controller) which is plugged in my controller and doesn't show up. I've plugged in 3 different mics and plugged my 2 xbox adapters and nothing works

@@btrapfilms468 could be a possibility? I would try to borrow a friends newer controller to test if possible. I tried changing some of the hard settings on mine to see if it would mimic your problem but everything still works fine for me.

Hey man great video! But im having issues with the in game audio, it only captures the voices and not the actual game audio
Been messing with my 4k60s+ and am recording to the internal sd card of the elgato( not using computer except to change elgato settings) and can’t get my audio to work I have all audio except my own mic but when I hook up my chat link cable ( no matter what settings I try) the audio is distorted like it’s being sent through twice and I can’t get rid of it unless I don’t use a chat link cable which everything sounds fine but doesn’t allow me to record in game chat from other peoples mics I’ve tried every setting for audio on my Xbox such as going through speakers and headset, just headset and just speakers, nothing works lol any tips you have is much appreciated I’m getting frustrated here 🤣 thanks in advance!
