If you’re doing it this way, you are correct. I know some people will monitor that stuff using an earbud under their headset. All of my audio comes through my GoXLR, and I highly recommend the use of some sort of audio mixer for anyone that plans on making consistent content, but it’s a bit of an investment to get the equipment. This video is by no means the recommended way to do things, but it’s cheap, and will solve a problem for some people to get them by if they’re just getting started with a small budget. @@DocValentino thanks for the reply 👍 if I use a goxlr does that mean it will capture party chat audio so I can hear using my wireless headphones connected to pc stream or will I need a separate headset dedicated to the Xbox party audio?
The GoXLR connects to a PC, and all of your console audio runs through it along with all of your other audio to your headset, like music and alerts. With a console, you would also need an audio extractor to split the audio out from the HDMI to go to your GoXLR. It can get fairly complex, but once it’s set up you’re good to go. I use this TESmart Ultra HD 4 Port HDMI Switch and Audio Extractor: amzn.to/3vkBeiw with and optical cable to the GoXLR. There are also some other little things here and there that you might need to accomplish a full setup like that.

Regardless he bought a mirror box capture card , usb mic and using obs on a older laptop. He has it all working but he has a horrible buzzing coming from his mic on stream. I've tried filters and nothing is getting rid of it please help
It would be unlikely that the USB mic is causing the buzzing, unless the gain is set really high. Usually the buzzing will come from one of the 3.5mm connections, in which case a ground loop isolator should fix the issue amzn.to/3CI2tGH
If you have everything hooked up like in the video, turning up your mic monitoring should be what gets your audio from your headset mic to get picked up.
Can you do this again with the chat link pro? I'm trying to be able to monitor my audio from the computer. I have a Mac, evga xr1 pro and a series x. I have a headset and USB mic.

If you have everything hooked up like in the video, turning up your mic monitoring should be what gets your audio from your headset mic to get picked up.
I am clearly missing something. It will not pick up my headset microphone at all. Elgato HD60 X, Xbox Series X, Monster Rogue headset and a chat link pro.
@@cheekyleekz I did. It was a lot of trial and error. In the end, I send it through my PC to Twitch or here using my setup listed above so I capture my party chat and proximity chat while playing COD. I use a stand alone usb mic to capture my audio.
I simply stream Xbox on twitch and yt. I have a razer siren I want to use to talk in party chat with the capture card while using my Astro a10s to hear game audio. How would I go about this
Unfortunately, USB microphones don't work on Xbox. If you have a model of the Razer Seiren that has a 3.5 mm jack for headphones, you should be able to feed that into your controller with an aux cable and a splitter/adapter like the one in this adapter pack. The aux cable would go from the Razer microphone headphone jack to the mic port on the splitter/adapter. Your headset would plug into the headphone port on the splitter/adapter. A set up like that would essentially render the mic on your headset useless, but accomplishes the task at hand. Sorry for the delayed response to your question. I hope this made sense.
First off, great video. I am having a problem with my headphone mic not being picked up in OBS. I have the HyperX Cloud 2 mic connected through the elgato chat link with my controller. I figured that the elgato chat link would do the trick and it has, but only with game audio. I have messed with the settings and followed exactly what you did but nothing seemed to work. So is purchasing a usb microphone a better solution then having to deal with all the splitters just to get the voice audio working?
Thank you! Honestly, picking up a USB mic for a simple set up will make it so much easier on you. There are some nice options out there on a budget like the Razer Seiren amzn.to/3u3YilZ or, at the moment, the Razer Seiren X amzn.to/3OrkD5e which looks to be 40% off from the normal $99.99 price at the moment. The HyperX Solocast amzn.to/3bhjTkn is a decent budget option as well, and looks to be 33% off at the moment. If you're looking to maybe spend a little more, the Elgato Wave 3 amzn.to/3xVdd39 is a nice option.
I have 2 mics one for console other for PC(OBS) n my headset is the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. My question is how do I stream wirelessly without having to get an aux splitter, putting that into the controller and putting one aux into my HD60x(game capture card) and the other to my headphones?
This is slightly complicated to answer, but I had my stream setup for PS5 to where I would be wireless on my end with the DualSense Controller and Arctis Pro headset, and my Blue Spark Blackout mic for both my stream mic and chat mic. I used a GoXLR mixer, and a couple other things to get it set up this way. It was nice because I could use the voice changer on the GoXLR in my game chat as well, and I could mute each one individually with the stream deck app (you could do the same with an actual stream deck). I made this video to be helpful to people on a tight budget, but I never streamed this way. I would like to make a video on how to do it the way I did, but I never did because of everything it requires.. I can attempt that video if you think it could be helpful to people. I haven't streamed in quite a while because of my work and family schedule, but I should be able to set things up and make a RUclips video.
@@KayTalksGaming Cool story, bro. I’ve learned to get straight to the point. You know, nobody teaches you how to make videos, you just do it and learn from it.
I have a razer wolverine controller and because of it I cant control the mic monitoring, so can the capture card still capture my mic voice if the mic monitoring is set to lowest?
I apologize for the delayed response to your question. Unfortunately, if you are doing it in this way without an external mic of some sort, it is likely that your voice volume will be captured extremely low if the mic monitoring is low.
Hey, not sure anyone will see this but when I plug my chat link into my capture card the sound on my stream gets very robotic and tin can sounding. If I don’t run the chat link it sounds perfect, just can’t get chat audio.. any suggestions?
I see you, man. Not sure why that’s happening, but you can try a ground loop isolator. They are cheap on Amazon. That usually takes care of static in your connection, but not sure about the issue you’re having.

So I have the chat link pro and putting audio input as the Elgato HD60X that I’m using. In both OBS and the Elgato recording software, it’s picking up the console audio, and the console audio drowns out my voice. I know that I can turn down the audio to my headset itself, but I like having my game loud. Is there a solution to this or is this something I just have to deal with?
I’m guessing to adjust the headset chat mixer setting more toward chat. Other than that, there’s not much you can do aside from using an external mic for OBS.
So I have the ElgatoHD60X, using Xbox series S and Turtle Beaches. It records game play audio and voice chat but not me. I have my setting to play threw headset/speaker but it still doesn't capture my Audio. What would you recommend doing or using?
I had this exact problem and it’s because you need an external microphone to ONLY record your voice for the capture card. so basically your headset is only used to hear your game audio and party. So you can use your headset to hear the game and etc. but you need another microphone to plug into your capture to record your audio/ voice.
It’s not as simple as it seems to put together a decent stream. Just learn little by little. Being a good father is always a priority. That’s one of the biggest reasons I don’t put out more content. Sometimes I just have to play Barbies or get my toenails painted by a 4 year old princess 😂

IT looks so simple when you do it lol (edit unplugged and replugged devices and opened elgato game capture app and at live commentary selected game capture elgato, now i can see them moving in streamlabs obs) kinda solved my own problem but i wouldnt of figured it out without this video ty
Glad you got it straightened out, and that my video was able to assist in any way.
@@DocValentino goat :)
@@realDNY what was the name of the elgato app? there are many
@@SlayerNiteTV Oh man this was over a year ago I believe I had the elgato 4k capture app. I just use streamlabs obs now and im also on pc compared to a year ago i was on xbox x
Is there a way to hook up 400 rig headset to a agptek he video capture to get game/party chat Xbox one x in ur recording
What about wireless headsets
Tried everything even bought all the adapters and still can't hear my audio got the party audio but it doesn't pick up mine
If you have everything hooked up like in the video, turning up your mic monitoring should be what gets your audio from your headset mic to get picked up.
I am clearly missing something. It will not pick up my headset microphone at all. Elgato HD60 X, Xbox Series X, Monster Rogue headset and a chat link pro.
lmk if you found a solution
I did. All I had to do was add a usb mic to my PC and adjust some settings.@@cheekyleekz
@@cheekyleekz I did. It was a lot of trial and error. In the end, I send it through my PC to Twitch or here using my setup listed above so I capture my party chat and proximity chat while playing COD. I use a stand alone usb mic to capture my audio.
Hey man I am youtuber/streamer and we can play tighter if that is cool with u and how do u connect a wireless one
I have a ugreen capture card.. and a chat link pro.. i can get my audio but i cant get teammates audio… any help???
Same issue here. It’s been a month now did you fix it?
I have all the Aux cords from the mic/audio splitter and the audio splitter. And it isnt working on my xbox. Any tips to fix it?
did you figure it out?
@@DocValentino Ok. Thanks for the advice!
my game doesn't get my mic audio even using a separate mic
Can elgato chat with the capture card use in the video?
did you figure it out?
22 mins to explain something in 5 minutes is crazy bro.
@@KayTalksGaming Cool story, bro. I’ve learned to get straight to the point. You know, nobody teaches you how to make videos, you just do it and learn from it.
@@DocValentino i understand. Was just frustrated and was getting anxiety because i couldn’t fix my settings. Thats all
I have a razer wolverine controller and because of it I cant control the mic monitoring, so can the capture card still capture my mic voice if the mic monitoring is set to lowest?
I apologize for the delayed response to your question. Unfortunately, if you are doing it in this way without an external mic of some sort, it is likely that your voice volume will be captured extremely low if the mic monitoring is low.
@@DocValentino no problem thanks for the reply
will you be my stream coach, i like ur style
I wish I was able to do that kind of stuff.
I haven’t been able to stream for a long time. Need to try to find time to focus on RUclips, but my day job has been very demanding.
Did all this and now my chat mixer is greyed out.. also lay the shit out on a table and show the cables to help people. Asshat
@@DocValentino thanks for the reply! My chat link actually has one built in.. I’ve tried everything. Not sure what else to try
@@brandondudley3820 I wish I could be of more help. Not sure what would be causing your issue.
audio input capture does not show capture card!
@doc I’ve bought all the things as advertised and I still can’t hook it up corrected for my Xbox controller to the 4K capture card please help
Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I see your comment, and will try to put out a post this weekend with a little diagram for you. I’m pretty busy during the week with my job and family, so I probably won’t be able to until then. Thanks for watching and reaching out for help.
Same issue
So I have the chat link pro and putting audio input as the Elgato HD60X that I’m using. In both OBS and the Elgato recording software, it’s picking up the console audio, and the console audio drowns out my voice. I know that I can turn down the audio to my headset itself, but I like having my game loud. Is there a solution to this or is this something I just have to deal with?
did you find a solution? im struggling with the same problem
if i use a chat link pro, can it still work with my capture card? i dont have an elegato capture card
did you figure this out?
i’m having an issue where my voice volume is really low on my OBS and even though i have my mic monitoring up all the way
Same here, the game audio overpowers my mic. Not sure how to fix it
I’m guessing to adjust the headset chat mixer setting more toward chat. Other than that, there’s not much you can do aside from using an external mic for OBS.
Ok does this video give any advice for getting ingame/voice chat audio? and could you respond with a time stamp? i don't wanna sit through this
So I have the ElgatoHD60X, using Xbox series S and Turtle Beaches.
But in this video he clearly uses his headset as a mic ive set all mine up exactly the same but it wont capture the mic
Will this work on ps5?
Game play and teck it's good..
I wish you could help me with my stream.father of 4 and I'm just lost sometimes.
It’s not as simple as it seems to put together a decent stream. Just learn little by little. Being a good father is always a priority. That’s one of the biggest reasons I don’t put out more content. Sometimes I just have to play Barbies or get my toenails painted by a 4 year old princess 😂
