  • Here's a fairly quick video of how to replace the motor mount on a 2001 Montana/Venture/Silhouette.
You can find a solid rubber motor mount and support the creation of more fix-it videos by ordering one here on Amazon: amzn.to/2lLPOhE
You can find a Hydraulic one here on RockAuto:
    www.rockauto.c...
They are supposed to be a bit more smooth, but on the forums quite a few people said they also broke in the first half a year. I put a hydraulic one in, and it hasn't broke so far.
    Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the very instructional video! It helped me get through changing mounts on my Pontiac this morning. Now she runs like a champ! Please make more of these videos.

Those aren’t transmission cooling lines; I’m afraid those are the power steering return line. I just rebuilt the power steering system on my Buick rendezvous (same architecture as the Montana family)

The Chevy Uplander is the same way but the motor mount cradles inside the left forward portion of the subframe. for easier access it's a good idea to take the two subframe bolts out so you have easier clearance to remove and install the new motor mount.

Passed over the hardest part. The physical removal after removing fasteners. and and repositioning the new one.

I did this a few years ago. Use a large screwdriver to line up the bolt holes. Also, loosen the top engine mounts before jacking the engine up.

Was it vibrating once it hit second gear? My silhouette vibrates like no one's business when it's shifted into the next gear. I thought it was my cv axle because it was shot, but i changed it and it still vibrates!! Help!!

I don't understand why you don't have to loosen or even take the bolts off the transmission mount when you raise that thing up

Is there more than 1 engine mount?

what if some of you guys remove the top motor mounts and some of you don't I don't see how you could do it without tearing something up

What kind of mount did you get?
I thought an Anchor front mount would be OK but it only lasted about 6 weeks!

Good idea with the car jack to move the motor.

    01 Pontiac Grand Prix.
What is a decent motor mount that won't break the bank?
Everybody on the internet is saying that anchor and DEA are junk.
I am not looking to spend $80 at the general motors dealership.
I am not real hard on my car will a anchor or DEA Mount be good enough for me?

The front seal is leaking, which caused the failed motor mount.
