Great review. I found Comfort Crisis to be the best book I have read in 3 years. Ironically the best book 3 years ago, was also the one he showed, 'Can't Hurt Me' by David Goggins. This book, The Comfort Crisis, is the most spiritual, non-spiritual book I have read. As well, it is not labled as a self-help or psychology book, but it has the best psychological outcomes by just doing hard stuff; no talk, just do and the 'magic' happens. Now, it's not like I am some super athlete. I am 66 and have a very bad back and foot such that it is hard for me to do much physically. However, this book has challenged me to do things that are hard. Sometimes that is just walking one mile. But I now 'do' it instead of just 'wishing' I felt better. Get the book and get rid of the digital media world.
Hi Bjorn 😊 I've watched a few of your reviews and I really enjoy them so I subscribed! Thank you for doing such a great job with these reviews - it really helps me in deciding which books I want to spend my money on. I value your opinions 😍
Thanks for the great review…you mentioned that to practice fasting for your own good but fasting is a must for my religion for one whole month for several reasons… which are good for the body and etc.
Thank you for the review. I enjoyed that. I heard a navy seal once say to ….do something hard every day. I have adopted the principal for many many years. Whether it’s 100 Burpee‘s, running up a large hill, or even meditating.
@@BookLabBjorn oh unfinished is fantastic, listen to the audible on both books it's like a podcast with Dave goggins and I think his author can't say enough on how good it is
I’m not sure if I actively make things harder on myself that I have to do. But I do make sure that I’m doing things that my body doesn’t want to do, I want to do them. Like working out reading and meditating. I’ll have to try actively making something harder to build up my mental emotional resilience in the future and let you know how it goes💕🙌🏼🥰🙏🏼
That’s awesome I do a fast monthly as well. I find it useful in overcoming the natural man and building resilience. We all show what is on our faces and lash out for the smallest discomfort. Are used to work in food and beverage and I can’t tell you how many adults would be in a horrible mood waiting for their table and be in such a delightful mood after they ate. No better than toddlers🤪😂
😂 I’m reading The Righteous Mind right now and that book also talks about this: how we feel influence our morals and judgment. If you clean your hands right before making moral judgments you judge others more severely because you perceive yourself as “Pure” and if a “higher order”. People are not as rational as we to think…
I personally enjoyed most aspects of this book. but what I didn't like is that he doesn't propose a solution available for the entire world to be able to experience discomfort, he can't complain without giving a solution applicable to everyone.
This was the first time I ever opted for a review instead of finishing the book, which has good concepts, but a horrible read: excessively detailed storytelling, lots of namedropping, worshipping hunting endlessly - I gave up halfway. The recommendation side is lacking - I think even you struggled to collect actionable items. thanks for saving a couple of hours!

Stay strong, resilient, happy and healthy by challenging yourself and getting uncomfortable. Great share, thanks for this summary!

So true! Silence is under attack
They mention in the book that there only a few places left in the US where your can experience real silence. 😀
Great review! I love this book! :)

Thanks Bjorn great summary!

Great intro🙌….this’ll be my next read
I think you will resonate with this one. Good choice!
I love the mindset of thinking about carrying the things you would normally have to carry as building you a better mindset😃

I enjoyed it! I have a weak spot for topics in this book. Thanks for providing a second opinion 👍🏻
