I'll be brutally honest. Taker was at no point ever my favourite wrestler, I was always interested more in the smaller, technical wrestlers with subtle gimmicks, if any gimmick, such as Bret, Angle, Malenko etc. But none of those will ever come close to what Taker achieved with his character. With taker, reality was momentarily suspended as we entered the dark side and it was always magic. The wrestling world will never be the same without him.
Totally completely agree. I always felt like he was the supporting cast, never the biggest main guy even when he was champion. He didn't feel like a dominant champion. Throughout his career at WWE I had other favourites, whether it was UW, Bret, Steve Austin, The Rock or anyone else, but Undertaker helped suspend reality.
Totally with you on this. I didn’t buy the cartoon type gimmicks when I was a kid and he first appeared, since I was an Alabama boy we had “real” pro wrestling. BUT Undertaker made me take notice and somehow forget that I only bite on the Bullet, Freebirds, Brad Armstrong, Horsemen, Dusty Rhodes, Sting, etc. I seriously never bought into the WWF since it was hokey cartoon far removed from reality soft characters, whereas JCP WCW, NWA, Continental Championship, all had real people who fought for real reasons you know? It was a goal to get the championship, a revenge for something done to them or their friends, just pure competition to see who’s the best, looking at someone’s woman, kicking their dog and talking about their momma! I’m 46 now, and I still get goosebumps when that gong hits! Love the amount of production and pageantry he’s always used. Really love that even when kayfabe was murdered, Undertaker still didn’t break. Consummate professional, true leader and respected according to his peers, just an all around great guy.
Fun fact, for those who don't know: Undertaker once got blasted by his own pyrotechnics on his way to the ring, and suffered second-degree burns. . . Naturally, he went ahead with the match anyway, and barely reacted to basically getting set on fire.

Well said, sir.
I still think Kurt angle should have been bigger in wwe. Cmon a gold medalist in wrestling. He won a gold medal with a broken neck.
Fun fact, for those who don't know: Undertaker once got blasted by his own pyrotechnics on his way to the ring, and suffered second-degree burns. . .
Naturally, he went ahead with the match anyway, and barely reacted to basically getting set on fire.
Triple h had a similar experience at wrestlemania with dry ice which gave him second degree burns
Im sure that incident was fake because wrestling is fake.
Boo R Nah man it was real. The pyro guy got fired after it
@@Underscore12301 i always will remember that elimination chamber match (maybe the first?) Where RVD damaged Trips esophagus/larynx with a frog splash from off the top of one of the chambers. Trips finished the entire match even though he described it as basicslly breathing through a straw. Still so fake though.
@@prettyboyboo6901 Look up "Sid Vicious Breaks Leg" and tell us again it's fake.
even if you dont watch wresting, try to see it, its a cool behind the scenes
I don't watch the the actual shows but i'm always fascinated by the work behind the shows and the business
i haven't watched a match since the 90's but i love learning about the kayfabe
The undertaker was one of my favorite wrestlers in my childhood
Yees lmao. Me too bro
Great interview Ariel, you gave him all the time to express himself, so his answers felt complete. I liked the range of questions you asked.
Thanks for doing this.
It is Odd to see a Massive Wrestling Superstar be so Open & Likeable & Down to Earth. One of the Very Greatest Characters Ever, just being a regular, humble guy. Awesome. God Bless the Undertaker. And Mark, of course. 👍
I would love to see the Undertaker more on the MMA scene. What a legend.
Have a feeling once he retires from wrestling he will be. The guy is a huge mma fan.
Yess
@@joeyk29 They clearly mean just being around doing interviews and drawing attention to some of the more unknown guys. OBVIOUSLY they don't mean a 54 year old who has never fought in the UFC or other promotions is going to get in there with ngannou.
Hes a big dude and I'm sure he still hits like a truck, but I don't think he'd wanna be in the octagon at his age. Maybe a 3 rounder exposition but a light one.
@@joeyk29 Nobody in their right mind expects to see him fight. He has great knowledge of fighting. We just want to see him around and share his opinion.
" IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT ! "
Oh!
@@LuckyDT LOL ! 😂🤣😂 What's up LuckyDT ?
😂😂😭😭😭😭😂😂😭😭
Love that vid. LOL
Stone Cold: WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT.
Undertaker: YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW.
9:05 is where they start talking About the UFC “You wanna do it?” Thing LoL
Thank you.
You are a saint and I hope you are blessed with many healthy children and a wonderful spouse. Lol
Not all heroes wear capes
Out of respect for taker you have to watch the whole thing
I stopped watching WWE at the end of the 90s but I still couldn’t miss this interview!
U mean WWF brother ...yeah I'm with U
The Greatest of ALL TIME hands down nobody can argue with that either
People will argue stone cold, rock, etc. Because of popularity. But taker IS the best of all time.
Hbk
@@calugcug21 Nah. Taker is better overall. Better character, longevity, best gimmick, great in ring performer, ect.
Undertaker. Clap, Clap, ClapClapClap
Me. Fap, Fap, FapFapFap
I think you might have the clap
I could hear this comment
@@giggityeffyou Don't fap....lol
Yes sir. Make it clap for me
I remember I was 3 or 4 years old, the biggest Hulk Hogan fan in the world and I saw the Undertaker make his debut, he's been my favorite ever since. Even though I stopped watching wrestling in the early 2000s, I always watch an iconic Undertaker match like Wrestlemania 25.
10:00
I KNEW hitting newest over top would bring me to this. Thank you.
Ariel: This is not horrible ive been waiting a whole decade for this moment
Taker: frozen screen.....
Hi I love the undertaker put I did like when he lost to that he could been the one who had longest run but no that horrible man undertaker better way take care be safe u and it family😄😃💯💥🦷
when ariel said wait like a real fight like an mma fight and taker said like a wrestling fight that was life right there.
Undertaker is so sick. I feel like a kid again seeing him rockin that bandana again
After 5 years, Kevin Owens will clear who threw the pie on his face right here on Ariel Helwani show.
Moxley already admitted it was him on Talk is Jericho
It was Doink the clown duh....
2022 Thanks Taker for everything
WWE was smart airing this when they did piggybacking off the last dance docu series
10:30 is when he starts talking about the Brock incident
You are a hero
I have no doubt in my mind that with his athletic abilities and size, he woulda been a killer in MMA world. What woulda been if mma was as big back then as it is now. He woulda been great in either worlds. Wwe is fortunate to have him.
He’s a black belt in jiu jitsu I’m pretty sure
He has a black belt in BJJ, he was an athlete during his entire college years, he would have been a massive hit in the Heavyweight divisions, guy is huge and was very agile and fast during his prime.
Where’s the entrance? Greatest WWE gimmick ever.
He's so happy and jovial, really excellent to see him healthy, especially mentally, after such a long career.
Jovial. Now that's a word you never see in the comment section.
I've been a huge fan of The Undertaker since I was about 9yrs old. Watching these interviews the last couple of days has made me an even bigger fan. What a stand up, truly professional performer and man.
It really almost got me to tears hearing him talk about his daughter 🖤😭
I would love to have Undertaker as my neighbor. Seems like a really cool guy.
Legendary! Tight rope walk, tombstone and the no hands sit up pure wwf gold
This man was the center of my childhood memories of pro-wrestling
This is so chilling. Everyone loves there Character so much that they forget there humans and there all like us with the exact same problems from time to time. Huge respect for Taker!
Ariel: “....You mean a real fight?”
Taker: “C’mon son!”
That's why Brock would kill them all but some think the wrestlers are real fighters 😂
@Trouser Troll I've heard so many stories about Haku, but I'm wondering why Haku don't try MMA (under rules) career Just like dan severn or Ken shamrock
Brock wouldn't try taker just off of respect alone. They both know eachothers background Taker is legit and so is Brock but brock would never challenge Taker to no real fight it's just facts.
Someone in the comments put a time frame where undertaker talks about brock. You ain't no fan if ur rushing the deadman!
10:00 brock question
And miss taker talking for ist 10 mins na
@@shane-irish haha exactly
He literally said '' you know.. '' 876 times yup i counted each one.
R/Madlads
You know
Well done
He needs to pump those up, those are rookie numbers.
You're Legend 🙏🏾.
When you see Taker breaking Kabefabe and being more and more as Mark Calloway and doing more interviews, a sign that he may be retiring real real real real soon
Almost certainly, you don’t protect the character as well as he has for 30 years to just one day decide to stop. I believe November marks exactly 30 years since his debut. It would be nice to see him officially retire at the next Wrestlemania in front of 100,000 fans
DatGuy Z I believe he'll have one last run since he's been getting in great shape
And here we are 😔
Coolest dude ever!! Love the Undertaker!!!
Not the biggest wrestling fan but even I've always had massive awe and respect for this guy. A true legend.
Great interview. Mark is the real deal and no one is respected more by the wrestlers themselves that him. That really says something about the man
It’s crazy to me that I remember the moment of Taker and Brock so vividly, but I have no recollection of Ariel Helwani being the interviewer. Wild hahaha
9:05 is the lesner conversation
0:00 for the start of the video .
You’re the best dude! Thanks for that
Can you please make a time stamp for end of the video.. I'm having hard times
I was searching for that for so long. thanks dude
Saved my life!!! 🙌🏻
1:07 is the start of the interview 😜😛
“You know how people are, out of sight out of mind.” Not me good sir. I’ll be telling my kids and my grandkids about the legacy of Mark Calloway & The Undertaker. An absolute legend.
❤️❤️❤️
I remember having a nightmare as a kid of the undertaker chasing me (I was running and he was just slowly walking) and the big show came out of nowhere to beat him and help me😂😂
Lol that's awesome
Nice
warren mcgreevy thought I was the only one to have nightmares like that 😭😭it was always undertaker chasing me
trust me we all that dream in mine edge saved me becuz at the time they both were having feud
I had a dream that Kane with his old school mask was after me and it still haunts me to this day. Lol
There is something so wholesome about undertaker smiling at u its on levels with keanu reeves shouting ur breath taking
Ariel is a genius at what he does. He was born for this. Love him or hate him, he always finds a way to get the information we want.
I think the most underrated and most intense gimmick was the ministry of darkness in 99.
Taker wasn't looking like a pro wrestler there....
My guy The Undertaker love this man nothing but Respect for this man
When the undertaker goes grocery shopping, does he wear two bandanas? 😷
He dresses up as a ninja instead
Genius
He is already a deadman and would choke slam The Corona
Dave Crackk 😂 👌
He wears four
Reason : Undertaker was just trying to get him back to WWE.
I saved your time. Thank you!
Undertaker your character will never get old brother Mann it’s timeless your history there will never be the wrong time to me there are 3 other legendary characters of the same time Austin The Rock-and kane and youAre history dude and your aware thank you for 30 Yrs of Entertainment!!!!
“I’m business, and business comes first before anything personal”- that says it all.
Read this comment at the exact moment he said it, cool
Imagine Undertaker in ring calling someone, Rest! 'you know' in peace!
" you will rest in peace, you know? "
Lol
10:00 for the UFC 121 segment
Taker is such a genuine, interesting, likeable guy after seeing all of these videos and interviews. I never thought he would break character like this.
Taker has been entertaining us for so long, we grew up watching all of his matches and he is easily one of the greatest stars that wrestling entertainment has ever produced. Just one of the greats.
