As someone who grew up in The South, I have a soft spot for the ole CB. I don't think anyone would ever argue that it's fine dining or a "must try" or whatever, but I think it's just a great option for a wholesome, warm, comforting, stick to your ribs sort of meal that is reasonably good quality and won't break the bank, particularly on a road trip! Trips to grandma's house in Chattanooga were the time we most often went to Cracker Barrel when I was a kid since it seems like there is one at every exit down south. 😁

Totally! I have only ever been once, but I distinctly remember the chicken being SOOO good. And the waiter was so nice and cute personality-wise, he told us to call him "sparky" which was so quaint haha.
Really nice first time experience, I always remember those two things when I went and I'm pretty forgetful in general 😅

I made a longer more heartfelt comment but my phone's touchscreen bugged out and effectively closed youtube and deleted the comment. Ugh.
I just wanted to say that before my Grandma died at almost 94 years old and basically half-raised me. She would take me Cracker Barrrel all the time. So much so that she used to think it was my favorite restaurant lol 😅
I liked its as much as the next guy but I always thought it had too much salt, pepper and fat but still came out tasting really bland somehow. Like rich, salty and with a lot of black pepper but bland. Anyway she loved the chicken fried steak and their specials. I liked it just fine but didnt love it.
That woman died thinking I loved Cracker Barrel.

CB isn't fine dining, it's more of a cook to order buffet if that makes sense. I worked at one for about 2 years and I can 100% say the employee meals are the same size as customer portions. Never left work hungry and usually had enough left over for a second dinner after work. Back when I was there we got 50% off if we ordered off the clock and that applied to bringing your whole family once a month also. CB may hot be the best but it is hands down best for comfort food especially in the colder months. I'm waiting for the chicken and beef campfire dinners to come back around fall

I give it a 7 or 8 out of 10 on pretty much every visit, but I don't get the kind of things Kev got on his visit. If I got a shell in my egg I might still go back, but there's no way they'd break the halfway mark with me in the rating. BTW, that syrup is not pure maple. Take another look. It says 100% Pure . . . Natural . . . Syrup. They don't even call it maple syrup. It's a mix of about half maple syrup and half Karo type syrup.

Recently ordered food to go. Was very disappointed. Got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn. First they got my name wrong even after I spelled it to the person on the phone twice! Meatloaf size was generous but how do you mess up mashed potatoes? They were dry and very lumpy and had no flavor, 😅 the tablespoon of gravy on them did not help! I had even asked for extra gravy...didn't get it. I had 2 orders of the meatloaf, so they asked if I wanted biscuits or muffins. I said, one with biscuits and one with corn muffins...what did I get both with biscuits. Their receipt even has a place where someone initials it to verify the order, apparently they don't actually check it! Will think twice before going back. Have always enjoyed it in past!
