@@PinHeadThePopeOfHellwho cares…if they want to pray, let them pray…you’re not their parent or spouse…so let people do whatever they want…they’re trying to say something positive to a person going through a bad time,
I've lost like 15 pounds since starting to watch your content. Just cooking more often at home and eating out less makes a huge difference. I don't even use many of your recipes. Maybe I'll take an idea or a skill you've shown and apply it to something else. Either way love you brother and yah we're all praying for you.
Real man, showing his errors, owning up... but instead of hiding it, pretending to be these PERFECT chefs, like most youtubers do... He instead teaches others that we all mistakes, (Even someone like Kev who should know better..), and shows his viewers how to avoid it, RESPECT.
Recipe looks amazing! Also much respect for staying calm cool and collected when something went wrong. We all make mistakes and it’s refreshing to see someone not only show it but also use it as a teachable moment!
Hey man, great video as always. The ideal option for grease fire extinguishment is to cut off oxygen. Having a metal bowl or pan that you can place over the entire burner will extinguish it quickly and safely. I’m a firefighter and that’s the way we usually teach people. Great video and I hope that your cancer battle is won soon!
Was a good lesson to show. Stay calm. move pan. Blow out. Salt. A lid over the fire would work as well. And yes if all else fails go for fire extinguisher
I really appreciate you showing us that kitchen fire. I’m going to show this to my kids, so that IF that happens they can stay calm and know how to handle it. It’s one thing to talk it over, it’s so much clearer to have them watch you handle a fire in your kitchen. Thank you for your kind and helpful words explaining the whole situation.
I just posted a comment about this. I was ten years old when I had to put out a grease fire. I’d watched Julia Child on PBS and knew what to do. It was a relief because I know my parents would have been upset!
I love that you use simple ingredients we all have around the house. Nothing fancy and crazy. All your meals look amazing and inspire me to make my own. Thank you and keep up the great work.
I watch every video you do, buddy. And especially when your daughter is involved with it. It makes me smile after I saw what you put up yesterday. It made me smile even more to see this today.
I love your fire tips...I had a close call when working at a grill in a bowling alley. I also noticed no back ground music. 👍...it's about you !❤ now this was a treat !
I'm so glad you touched on the fire aspect. I always cooked on gas. Whenever I deep fried, I made sure to turn the flame off while adding product to the hot oil. Only turn the flame back on after the oil has simmered down. Electric burners are less controllable and take longer to cool, so be extra careful. It's a good idea to have a wet towel handy to smother flames. Also, be very careful not to slosh hot oil onto the stove while moving the pot and to not burn yourself while moving said pot. Cooking is fun ,but it can be dangerous.
So many nuggets of knowledge in just the span of a few minutes, learned a lot. Appreciate you explaining the mistakes. I've also found that simmering the wings before blasting them in either the oven or deep fryer helps a lot with crisping them up with the final cook. Thanks again for the recipes!
A big thank you for sharing this. Never would have thought of boiling the chicken wings first. It looked so delicious. Definitely have to give that a try
Love ya Kevmo! Your videos are such a treat. Wish you all the best man! I know you’re going through tough times, but I am grateful for you putting out awesome stuff, and staying positive!! You’re an inspiration ❤
Thank you sooooo much!!! I sent this info to all my nieces and nephews, as I have been very concerned about kitchen fires myself the last year. I am old. I bought some of the fire blankets this Christmas. I always thought I'd grab the water nozzle to put out a fire, boy was I wrong.
Glad you guys are safe. If you do have a grease fire- flour is the best suppressor- or salt. But flour is easier. A tip from my kitchen - once you bring your oil up to temp- you always reduce the heat when adding your product. Especially if it carries liquid like fries. Chicken too. You can throw a lid on it to reduce the splatter and prevent the breading from burning. Once the grease calms down, then turn the heat back up. Moderating the temperature is important with home cooking. Restaurant fryers are different because they’re pre-set to maintain the temp. At home, you have to maintain the temp. If you’re frying a large piece of chicken. Simply drop it in the oil - put a lid on it for the first 5-6 minutes flip it during that time.. then take the lid off and finish cooking it. It’ll cook all the way through without burning.
I have one of those fire blankets that are all over RUclips right now. I didn’t buy it from them. My local hardware store, Canadian Tire, had them on sale for half the price. I got one for my renters in the basement, and thank god it did. Three weeks later they did exactly what he just did. Thankfully all is well. The blanket worked as advertised, and I packed it away for the next time.
Love your content. Kitchen fires are terrifying. Good advice here. I think the best clue is not to abandon your cooktop to go have a cocktail, even for a few seconds. A hot stove needs constant monitoring.
I was a latch key kid. Julia Child taught me how to put out a grease fire. When I had one blazing, I ran to the cupboard and grabbed the Eason salt and poured it over the fire. I was so pleased with myself.
Thank you so much for the breakdown Kev. Just started expanding my home cooking and fried something the other day. This was immensely helpful my friend.
Thank you for the lesson Kevmo! I didn’t know how to deal with grease fires and I’ve realized that since I’m new to frying and have very young, curious, unpredictable children I should wait to do deep frying for a couple years!
As a Cook myself...thanks for showing folks what went wrong and what should they do in those cases.. well done.. and Nice recipe.. cheers from Panamá🇵🇦
Thank you for keeping the fire and mistakes in and explaining through it. I never fry anything bc I'm scared of what could happen but you should calm reaction and explained what to do just in case. ❤
I loved the fire safety stuff! You got such a nice and calm demeanor, you could explain anything and I would enjoy it :) Also I hope the pain management is going well and that you are able to beat cancers ass!
Thank you for the kitchen safety tips! That looks delicious! It's always a pleasure to see your daughter in your videos. She is just beautiful! You are a treasure! Thanks so much for all your efforts in making these videos! Gus is a cool cat, too! :)
I never thought about boiling the wings before cooking. I just made wings last night and was trying out an air fryer someone gave me. It worked well but because I was worried about them cooking through I overcooked them. If I had boiled them for 10 minutes I wouldn't have needed to worry about them being cooked enough and I could have cooked them for less time in the air fryer. I hope everyone who love Kevmo will subscribe. All these awesome entertaining and useful videos. Let's get him to a million!!💚

A lot less salt! Use to travel for work and stopped! Lost 25lbs and I believe it was water retention 😢
Always keep salt around when deep frying-one of the best cooking tips I got from Ma

I actually didn't know about the fresh oil fizzing up fact! today I learned, thanks Kevmo!
Love that you kept in the educational moments about the oil fire and safety tips. So much respect for that honesty and teachable moment.

For someone with so much knowledge of food and cooking techniques to share their gift with the world, it's a beautiful thing!
That whole meal looks so good. The fire was a great learning opportunity because I bet most people don't have much experience with that.
Reminders about the danger of hot oil can never be overstated. Really appreciate your content and format❤
