Have you ever thought of using a massage gun to break it in? I have had great luck with it! Good stuff man.
Wowwww. I have a glove on order, and this is gonna save me SO much time!
Thank you! This just did wonders for me.
I’ve used this approach for my son’s last 2 gloves. Really helps with forming the pocket.
i love all your vids and you taught me how to break in my glove to the fullest. thanks a lot and it feels and looks great. all thanks to you!
Used room temperature water to break in my glove. Absolutely fantastic results. Have not yet (big emphasis on yet) experienced any negative effects thus far.
Love to hear it!!
thats a sick bucket bro! ;) love your vids i bought myself and my dad 44s because of you thnx!
Dude the shape on that Rawlings pro200 is soooo good!
Right!!
The color of that glove is awesome. Gold accents too
Congrats on 100 thousand subscribers!!!😁
Thank you!!
I'm so glad I came across your channel. Keep up the awesome work! If I order 3 break in's (in one order) does that count as 3 orders lol
I’ve also had the occasional water stains when cleaning gloves. I’ve often wondered if filtered water would negate the issue and how different tap waters might affect the leather🤔
I’m thinking the same thing bro!
@@ballgloveking also if you leave a bucket of water to sit for a while, does some of the water evaporating lead to a higher concentration of minerals, and then increase probability of staining?🤔🤷♂️
Try distilled water.
Congrats on 100k Chris!!
Thanks my man 🙏
Do you think the water spots would happen if you used distilled water instead? Or is it simply the need to use fresh water for every glove?
I was thinking of distilled water as well.
This 👆🏻
100k dude congrats love ur vids got a Ozzie albies A2k because of you
Congrats on 100k. Would love to send my glove in sometime!
I’ll be ready!!
really love your content... please, please, please, could you do a full review on a non $1200 nokona?
Congrats on 100k subscribers!!! And quick question, is there any alternative for glove conditioner cuz baseball in my country isn’t that big so not many baseball shops
Imagine the a2000 with white binding 👌 Great video BGK keep up the great work! Im sending you a rev1x to break in!
I just got an a2000 dp15 (the david one) because of your videos, and I’m loving it so far. The break-in is going pretty slow, but its looking good so far!
Did you dip your glove to break it in? I have the same glove for my son and it is take forever to break in.
@@briangirard3278 I havent, but I think i will when i have time.
I’m looking for a new glove and would like to know what you recommend.
As a purist I want things to be the best they can. But this video got me thinking…
I read one potential con is when the water molecules bond with the natural oils they can then dry out leather when the water evaporates and can cause early breakdown of the hide.
I’d also think that a glove conditioner is not a 1 for 1 replacement for the leathers natural oil. Also while the surface has been treated is the center of the leather dried out?
That’s just a thought. In reality the leather breakdown helps it to break-in. But could a no water break in allow the leather to last longer by retaining its natural properties?
This is top quality content 💯
Thanks for showing my glove loved the video man!
Could you do a review of the 44 C2? Interested in the stiffness and feel difference between their steerhide vs kip. Not sure if there is any content about them.
Review the Franklin CTZ 5000, how does it stack up against the other budget gloves
What's the best glove for a wide palm.. Have issues finding a glove comfy
I purchased a 12" easton pro collection glove, because of your video, and I love that glove. So, thank you. I was looking at 12.75s last night, and seen that the easton pro collection gloves are all about $199 now. Just giving you a heads up, if you or any of the other glove heads, would like to snag one before they're gone ☺️. Have a great day today everybody!✌️
I just bought the same one🤘
@deegee1921 took me only about 10 days maybe, of breaking it in? I didn't even play catch with it before the break in as well. Only thing negative I've read, is about the laces, but no issues with those yet. I actually clean and sarna condition the laces on the regular though.
What is your favorite infield glove for slow pitch ? I play short. Use a mizuno 12.75 outfield glove
How did the David a2000 break-in end up? I have the same glove and have had a rough time breaking it in. I'm going to try the water if it worked for you.
i have baby blue laces on my 44 next to tan coloring, do you thing that if i do a water treatment that the color will bleed into the tan?
Love your videos, I'd love to use your service but noticed in your other video you mention a con of the water treatment being color bleeding. I just ordered a black glove but has white on the thumb->wrist->Pinky and red laces. Do you think the colors will be safe with your water treatment?
Yessir that’ll be great!
I’d love for you to do another video of bad/crazy ways to break in a glove (like the microwave video)
WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER!!
Didn't look at his previous videos lol
As a leather nerd, I’d love to see you go on the full grain podcast. I think you’d be a great guest!
If you live in a soft water area (or you for some weird reason distil your water), the marks are less likely to happen as you will have fewer minerals in your water. Also, the 70% EtOH thing makes sense. It's used in biochemistry to remove salts from preps.
BallGloveKing!!! If I sent in a catchers glove would I be able to request a break in like jt realmuto or another MLB player??? Thanks and Love the Content!
What model was the Nolan Arenado glove? I really want a glove like that.
Your the best love your vids!
thank you!!!!
how much longer will you be doing break in orders?
Bgk what’s your favorite glove also very good tips
I have used a garment steamer to loosen up stiffer areas of a glove without soaking the whole thing.
Should I do this break in on a 44 or try something else because the leather isn’t as high quality per say Wilson
Can you please do a kb17 hoh review, I am looking for a big third base glove, but there aren’t any videos out there of the glove, just videos from companies selling it, no actual gameplay or info about it
What do you do once your glove is broken in as far as storing it in your bag goes?
Congrats on 100k subscribers. I would like to purchase and send to you for break in an infield and outfield glove for my 11 yr old son. Can you recommend? He has gotten more serious about the game and I am okay with a budgets up to $300 hoping it will last a while. I love your sweatshirt.
What do you use to hold your gloves on the wall like that?
Awesome sweat shirt ❤❤❤
Would you recommend the water method on colored gloves? Such as Mint green, red, or blue leather?
I’ve been using it on all gloves!
Room temp water is most likely exempt from this as I’m thinking it’s the heat from steaming and hot water treatment, but the treatments loosen the fibers in the leather. It’s good for breaking it in faster, but in 3-4 seasons as your gamer, you’ll notice your glove losing its shape and getting floppier faster. I’d imagine the same “relaxing” and loosening of fibers in the leather is happening in the wool inserts
What about dipping gloves that have non leather like Wilson Superskin? Would it still help or any drawbacks?
still great!
Does this work the same for Pro Preferred gloves ? Water best method to break in? I’ve tried just catch and it’s still stiff as hell!
It would work great!!
@@ballgloveking do you have to condition the glove after water break in?
Does this affect the longevity of the glove?
LOVE THE VIDEOS
Hey will you ever go to the new Rawlings Experience store in St. Louis? That place looks amazing and would make for an awesome video if you did a tour of it!
I helped break in the WBW100219125 for my daughter but the ball continues to want to bounce out. Could you recommend another fast pitch first base glove please?
My parents are skeptical because the official Wilson website says not to fully submerge the glove. Btw I use a Wilson A200 so it’s stiff as hell but it IS painted and I was wondering if it will ruin it if I use the bucket method?
Can you do a video on fastpitch gloves?
im looking to buy a custom yabai baseball glove and i saw you did a video on just the regular yabai glove but i want to see what the colors look like online vs in person
best youtuber rn
gg on 100k 😊
Can you do a review on shadow baseball gloves?
nah youre dope bro 🔥
Does the water shrink the glove?
Can you review the Wilson A950? It seems to only be at Dick's and I'm wondering how it compares to other sub $100 gloves. I don't even see it on Wilson's website.
We’re do you get your mallet to break in your gloves
Walden Gloves
Water marks are for sure from “hard” water. Same reason you get water spots on your cars when cleaning. From the detail world a water softener will be well worth it and make a world of difference.
I have an old stuff glove to try this one before I get a new one let’s see how it turns out 👌🏽👌🏽
Chris maybe try distilled water to prevent staining it’s mineral free. For this free tip send me a glove …lol
Lolol I’ve definitely considered trying that
I used room temp water on my a2k gloves and they’re beyond amazing. Did it on my rev1x and it started to feel like crap
Very interesting!
I’ve done 10 or so Rev1x gloves and have had good results!
Water marks could also be from the tannage of leather. Depending on the tannery & how it was tanned you could have had more chromium salts leach to the surface than what you normally encounter.
I need a mallet like that one you have. Where can I purchase one at?
Same!
Same
Is it ok to have two in the pinky for second base or should I go traditional
Whatever feels the most comfortable for you is best.
Thanks bro
I did the water treatment on my glove cuz I wanted to change the shape. Was super stiff after it dried. Used a 16 oz weighted baseball and a couple tosses to the good lord above and it was completely soft and shaped to my hand.
I like water break in but not a fan of the "dunk". Don't like the idea of water deep in the finger stalls and that leather needing to dry out. Can't condition deep in there. More of a fan of your old way of pouring water over the glove. Hot/cold not sure it matter much as it gets cold pretty quick but the ASO method. Love your content.
hot allows the fibers to be open for a while and lets the leather get more soaked
I'm with you. Aso (Wilson's glove guru, inventor of superskin, OG glove break-in guy to the stars) says 150-170 degree water, and pours it over with a cup. I've been team BKG since the beginning, but he kinda lost me at the dunk. Seems like a recipe for mold and other nastiness to grow in the deep dark nooks, especially in a glove that's been used a bit.
Same concern for me with water/dunk. I always worry about those deep finger stall areas and even the tiny areas where laces thread throughout the glove. If they don’t fully dry your increasing chance of mold/mildew. I’d at least hang glove from fingers to help drain away. Maybe even run a fan on low into the stalls.
Longevity of the glove my main concern vs instant results.
Have any experience with this method on blonde leather and colored laces? 😅😅
You should do a review hollowed collection glove
Can you pleas to the Rawlings sand lot catchers mitt
Can you make a video of making your own leather cleaner I want to clean my glove but don’t want to buy the cleaner and conditioner can you maybe try something like that?! Making your own
Hot water method works great
Would Distilled Water be an option?
Does the water make the glove heavier ? Once it’s dry
No but it will dry out mostly in the first few days but be just barely heavier still. Then after a week it’ll be back to normal
You should do a how to break in your glove like J.T. Realmuto!
Can you make a book with glove reviews and break in lessons
Can you do a video on how pedro alvarez breaks in his baseball glove?
have you ever hit your finger while doing mallet work? it hurts!
Review the Rawlings GR3FHTCALR
I ripped you to shreds in the comments on your last water video. Then I tried it. It worked exactly as you said it would. So. My bad.
LOLOL easily the best comment of the week 😂
Those lines probably don’t have anything to do with your bucket of water. It’s most likely additives like salt/sodium used when dyeing the leather to help the leather absorb color more. That other glove was a more natural tanned leather. 🤘🏻
can you use water on gloves with embroidery and it won’t mess it up?
correct
Have you thought of distilled water instead? That may help with the minerals
Please do a Javy Baez glove review!!!!!!
Do you have any new catchers mitt vids coming soon?
Working on a budget catchers mitt vid!!

Definitely check out the 2024 a1000 CM33. Seems to be a great mitt. My son loves it.
@@spartanangler4933 I’ve tried the a1000 before. Not really for me. I already have like 7 catchers mitts too 😂
Nice
Did room temperature and my glove broke in extremely quick
Do you relace gloves?
yes he does. you can check out his pricing on his website.
@@hiiro24 Ok thank you!

Alcohol is actually not a solution, it is a solute. ☝️🤓
Anything you saw with rubbing alcohol on discoloration for non black gloves.
no discoloration but I'm sure it would at one point if you use too much
Review Rico gloves
After seeing Aso use water, I haven’t gone back
Couldn't you just use distilled water and then you have to worry about minerals or stains?
Do you do the same process for catchers mitts as well?
Yes sir
I may not hang a catchers mitt if it’s too heavy
Love the content. Keep it up!
