I am watching this video from Yokohama, Japan. I was deeply impressed by Matt Chapman's incredible skills and mindset, as well as Matt Williams' coaching. San Francisco Giants provide the most attractive videos about baseball and players. I have become a huge fan of both Chapman and the team. I watch your videos and games every day. Dodgers are strong, but I wish for your championship victory. Go, San Francisco Giants!
I always appreciate videos like this, I feel like to most fans ballplayers are just a name and a number. But these videos connect us to our favorite players even more
I was SO lucky to have been able to watch Chappy all the time when he was on the A's. The Matts at the corners - we got to watch that all year, and it was SUCH a treat 😭🥰
Great to see Matt Williams back in Giants orange and black. When I was in high school my softball coach took us to see the Giants play. He was very excited about Matt becoming a Giant so I followed him throughout his career. He will always be my favorite third baseman!!! Use his knowledge Mr. Chapman.
I absolutely love this kind of content from each respective baseball teams. More MLB teams should do this with individual players or just BTS even organizational staff like equipment team, scouting team, etc.
MC is a sweet kid. Had a brief interaction with him in fall of 2019 and in just a few words he conveyed what a nice young man he is. Been rooting for him ever since.
@@mjovii_ You’re essentially paying him 18 million a season to just play defense and hit every so often, you may be stuck with him for 3 seasons since he likely won’t opt out.
Very high praise from a man that suffered injuries and a lockout in his prime. Matt Williams would have been in the hall of fame on his first ballot had he not had those setbacks. Wow those are amazing hands! Great video
Im not a giants fan at all, but i love these videos. They are informative, and sneak peak at the behind the scenes work, and also a great example of how to teach the game. Please keep making more like these. Every position, every coach, even the staff off and on the field
As a Giants fan and former little league third baseman I love seeing these two Matt's at third. As a kid I wore #9 (b/c of Williams) in my final season. I am reinvigorated in the franchise and my "hometown" Giants. Excited for this and the next couple of years. Let's Go Giants👏👏👏👏👏!
Matt is a great Giant and Chapman is a Gold Glove 3B… But, I gotta say, the infield videos with Kai Correa at spring training were so much better from a technical/coaching perspective. This seemed more like an interview with Matt and Matt, which is still appreciated.
Omg, this came out just before two errors in one game (amiright? could be wrong) jeez. Still a total total massive star, just saying it to point out everyone is human, as they actually mention, and it helps us all to know that! BBall is way way harder than it looks & a game of averages, we’re all aware. ❤️❤️❤️ this guy, so happy he’s a Giant today.
That's not at all how I pictured Matt Williams to talk and such. He's quite weathered. Whereas David Justice looks the same as the 90s. Williams had a very underrated career. Chapman looks like an amateur bodybuilder. Good glove work too.
My son (13yo) has been playing baseball since he was 7. This season he got moved to 3B from 2B. Coach said he has a cannon on him and he wants to see how it works out. I have told him to watch Chapman & Arenado. Those 2 guys are as elite as there’s ever been.
All the haters are awfully quiet now! He absolutely saved 2 games for the Giants on the Road! Including the best play i have ever seen at 3rd Vs the Mets with the bases loaded bottom 9!
As a (former) youth player two things stand out. 1) I’ll swear to anyone my coaches used to crank balls much harder at me than is in this video. And awkward. Like line drives aimed at my feet. 2) That field is immaculate. No bad hops.
For those who don't know anything about catching rollings, grabbing a baseball backhanded in front of you is the hardest thing to do, it leaves you exposed to anything it might happen to the ball. Matt does it like it's the standard way of doing it
you usually follow up backhanded to avoid weird bounces, but it leaves you less time to throw the runner out. In fact, coaches recommend not to attack the ball when backhanded because of it, and it's sound advice
Matt Chapman has the best arm in baseball from third. Blue Jays were so stupid to not sign him. As a Toronto fan I was completely pissed! So glad my second favourite team signed him
The Jays payroll was already big, and there was no way we were going to pay him 25 million per season for 6 years after the year at the plate he had last year, no matter how good his defense was. His hitting has admittedly improved in San Francisco, but the extension is a significant overpay IMO.
Do players get to talk to or request things of the groundskeepers? I'd imagine at the major league level the grounds would have to be pretty consistent throughout the season, but can a player ask for something that they prefer in regards to any of the field surfaces?
I’m a 3rd basemen too and I realized he doesn’t square up ground balls hit to him or around him. Normally he fields it off to the side which is what I do to, but my coaches don’t like me doing that. I like fielding off to the side to get an angle and be able to make the throw, and not get hit in the shin. But that’s beside the point. I would like a response to tell me what you would do. Thanks!
@stevea2488 why are you commenting on a 2 month video? Thanks, I agree that I've been blessed with perfection. Sorry steve you weren't blessed with looks, charisma and talent. I'm at least humble
@07wise that's not what you're mother said last night before I gave her the boards. I'd say from you're comment, being humble is not one of your strong personality traits.
@stevea2488 That's all you got for me? A mom joke? Have another beer out of the garage fridge at your mother's house. I bet she charges you for food money too. My looks bought me a wife and good looking kids. Sorry you are overweight and past you're prime. Do better
Chappie made two errors last night, one fielding, one throwing. He helped the Phillies win. Pretty funny that thus video released on Chappie's big day in the field. BTW Soler Sucks - Bench Him Now. And start playing Honey Fitz.
I am 15 years old, I am from the Dominican Republic, Fiermop on January 15, 2025, I feel honest, how many miles do I have to throw them to get them to sign me?
Practice the baseball fundamentals at this time in your player development and your baseball's "miles" will develop as well as you mature...Good Luck...🍀🍀🍀🍀
