Hey why not just focus on the ball when doing tee work and not pretend it is being pitched? I have noticed that young players miss the ball frequently when they pretend they're looking at the pitcher instead of just focusing on the ball. When hitting live we try and see the ball the moment the ball leaves the pitcher's hand.

@@tava7886 Hi I believe I have an answer to your problem from personal experiences. When you look straight down at the ball on the tee some people will tend to get in a bad habit of leaning over towards the ball when they're swinging;therefore, they will often regurgitate that same action on the field causing them to have bad posture while they're in there attack position. I personally believe there's nothing wrong with looking down at the ball;however, kids will forget about it while they're hitting by themselves and often get in bad habits. People please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure my facts are straight. From random 14 yr old kid.

Freddie was my neighbor growing up and we played little league together. He left our T-ball team and moved to AA half way through the year because he was tearing it up and jacking everything for a homer. Natural talent and unmatched work ethic. Glad to see him succeeding as one of the game's best.

Since his front foot ain't down way too early like 99.9% of you do, he still has a way to drive hard nearly any pitch in the strike zone. Except high and in. Because staying inside the ball too long with an upper cut bat path prevents him from getting his bat on the pitch. The other 8 areas of the hitting zone he can still mash the ball with his only slightly hampered kinetic chain.

Ya know what would’ve been REALLY outstanding..?
    1) if on that last swing you let’s us SEE him swing instead of just seeing him barely begin his swing and then cut to the ball on the tee and the bat coming through and hitting the ball. THAT would’ve been cool.
    2) if the “Host” guy would NOT have been trying so hard to prove to the guest that he “knew shit” and just been quiet so we could listen to the guest instead of listening to the guest continually being interrupted by the Host. THAT would’ve been REALLY awesome!:)

Hmm. Since his uppercutting prevents him from getting to and driving the high n away pitch, he's got a compensation that's a change to his norm of staying inside the pitch. He instead smoothly hooks and pulls the high n away pitch at times to right field... line drive HRs to right field. No doubters!
