if Mythra's F-Smash is the same as Pyra's, then the 2nd attack we saw earlier must be her Dash Attack (think of it as Ike's dash attack)
This is exactly what I think. Plus, you don't see the little sparkle that indicates it's a smash attack and there's a bit of dust that flies up behind her. It really looks like a dash attack..
Gramps stage in omega form
Oh no, now we know why pokefloat does’t exist.

all jokes aside, i think the omega form would just be gramps floating in the background as you fight on a platform, while pokefloats would be a bunch of pokemon with their corpses crunched up together to make a stage.
@@youtubecat3809 I think you might be correct for the omega form because of some stages having this work around when switching to omega and battlefield. Two examples I can think of that work around to making these forms are the Minecraft stage and Mario Bros. stage, the original stage becomes part of the background behind this new stage form with textures still specific to the stage. If Pokéfloats were in the game, it'd likely use this work around for omega and battlefield forms.

So where you were thinking about Pyra having 2 smash attacks, I'm almost positive the second attack you thought was an alternate F-smash was actually dash attack. You can briefly see the signature smoke that is associated with dash attacks by her feet, near the start of the move.
@Get Cowed I would say that that’s f smash. It would make sense that the spin that’s not Flame Nova (the move directly before it) is down smash.

Mythra looks a lot like corrin, with the way the animations go and how the tilts works in relation to knockback
In World of Light Mythra’s spirit is on female Corrin! And yes, they have similar moves. (Pyra also having a similar idle animation with the arm in front of her)
That down tilt does look really good for combos like Corrin's

I love xenoblade chronicles, all we're missing is Elma
As cool as Elma is and having both fuel swords and duel guns would be I'd actually rather have Lin.
Going into the game I didn't expect much of her but she quickly became my favorite character in the game.
That and her weapons are pretty cool and it's be interesting to see a moveset in Smash made more around defense than offense.
I really hope we don’t get another Xenoblade character. I just don’t care for that game and the characters aren’t interesting.
@@lucaspoirier9407 The character design may've been the worst looking aspect of XCX, but the combat and world was great. I thought Elma would've been a cool pick, but Pyra/Mythra are many times more popular/recognizable

Xenoblade chronicles 2 was my favorite switch game. Pyra/Mythra release is awesome. After Sephiroth she will be my second main.
If you look at the like/dislike ratios for their reveal in English and in Japanese, the Japanese trailer has a way more positive response
Japan loves Xenoblade 2 more than the West. Though we also have dedicated fans here too.

And other people who didn't play XC2,people can find this pretty informative of how things were in their home game.
Personally,I think I'm gonna enjoy Mythra more because I loved her speeding light attacks(As well as just having quick aerials and the like)in her game and it seems like Smash is being really faithful there. I'm also extremely excited and the trailer was very well done!(Also can we get Drifting Souls pls)

I love how their animations are the same as how they are portrayed in their games. They are very acrobatic fighters that spin around a lot.
Which is exactly why their outfits are skimpy. Finally someone gets it. Real life acrobats can't perform in a trenchcoat. XD

I definitely want to play XB 2 but I have to wait til I have the cash to buy it, plus I've barely scratched the surface of XB 1 lol

I know i'm kinda late but congrats for your pick. This analysis really intrigued me to try out XC2
The redesign for Mythra in Smash Bros. is actually an outfit taken directly from the game. You can get an Aux Core from a side quest called "Massive Melee Mythra" that lets you change her outift into the one you see for Smash Bros.
The outfit as the aux core was added due to the differing art fir her spirit in smash through a patch. Smash created it first, then it was added to Xenoblade.

No, it wasn't. When Rex was added as a Mii fighter, Pyra and Mythra were added as spirits. Mythra was censored then. Monolithsoft added the redesign after the censorsoship in Smash.

So hyped 😍 xenoblade chronicles 2 is one my favourite games of all time 😍💯
I'd like to add something that you may have missed. The two characters that Mythra was fighting during her final smash was Ike and Joker. Pyra was fighting Ganondorf and Inkling. Later in the Direct, Skyward Sword HD and Splatoon 3 were announced. I'm now wondering if we'll be getting some FE Radiant/Radiance and Persona 5 news soon.
As an extra side note, Ike was using his more muscular adult skin, while Ganondorf was using his white(?) skin.
This is the best analysis I've seen so far. I never would have guessed that the spinny thing Pyra did was her neutral special, but it makes perfect sense in contrast with Mythra's. Also, literally everyone covering this trailer is super confused about that "weak forward smash"-looking move

You actually noticed their ether lines! I knew they were present for the Final Smashes, but hadn't noticed if they were on the Level 3 Specials like in-game. Fun fact, those ether lines are basically their blood vessels, with ether acting as their blood and the Core Crystal as their heart. This is also true for the ether lines on their outfits and weapons.

The tree from Dragon Quest stage is a reference to Elysium and where Pyra and Rex first met.

I‘m always happy to see positivity for the two. Personally, I‘m massively hyped, because XC2 is one of my favorite games, and Pyra and Mythra are among my favorite characters from it. Can‘t wait till March!
Really love your in depth analysis of Pyra/Mythra, I could tell the love you have for XC 2 how you concentrate more in their animation being faithful to their game than in their frame data. Unlike other analysis video that only concentrate in their frame data already calling then bad. You can also tell the love and passion Sakurai put in those two, their animation and model and Oh my GOD! Their animation and their movement are so beautiful executed with all their attack having personality and their special B in general was so good! true to their game. Damn! I love the work Sakurai put on those two I can't wait for March to play them by the way Mythra all the way for sorry Palutena you no longer number 1 main still love you.

Great video! Can’t wait to play with Pyra and Mythra. They definitely have a good looking move set. Never played Xenoblade, but definitely thinking about it now that they got Pyra and Mythra in smash.
Great analysis! What triggers me a little bit is that Pyra and Mythra seem to be in slow-mo in their splash screens (like every other character), but their hair is still moving at normal speed. Just a little thing i noticed

@@AlexEXE yeah I would say that the “second f smash” is dash attack. And for the move that you couldn’t figure out for Mythra is probably f tilt. And for Pyra side b, I think it’ll kind work like K Rool side b, being that the thrown projectile (K Rool being the Crownerang and Pyra being the Aegis sword) so the sword may be picked up by other characters as an item and it will respawn after a while if thrown, and I’m assuming that with the sword it can be swung like the beam sword. I have a feeling that if this is the case, there is a timer to how long someone else can keep it because, like K Rool, the move that uses the crown, or in Pyra’s case, all of their sword moves, they don’t have access to said move(s). It would be kinda stupid if you could just hold on to the main weapon of a character for the entire game. I’m done wasting your time now, assuming you read this.

Prominence revolt is probably something like clouds up special by you have to press the button twice to do the downwards motion and if you just do the up b with 1 press then you probably will go into special fall
While I don't really play them, stance changing characters like these are one of my favorite archetypes in fighting games because they can do so much interesting stuff if designed well and put in the hands of the right player.
I haven't been this excited for a character. Period.

I think the fist clutching animation is trying to reference when Pyra puts her hand on her chest in cutscenes, since she kinda changes her stance in the same way
I really hope shulk and pyra/mythra have secret voice lines when their against each other, maybe even rex could have a voice line when he comes out of mythra/pyra taunts and sees shulk.(Idk i have my hopes hyped up bc im such a xenoblade fan).
There should be secret victory pose lines
I think the sword teleports back in her hands, and that in the trailer they made her leap towards it to make it more cinematic, like she actually caught it on the way back :)

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my favorite rpg of all-time. Pyra and Nia are tied as my favorite character from 2. She was in my top five picks for dlc, so I'm completely over the moon right now.
Small detail about the new stage; the Cloud Sea is stated to have a similar density to water and you can swim in it, so it's reasonable to assume that characters will be able to swim on this stage like on Pirate Ship or Great Bay. I wonder if they'll bother to remove the damage that a few characters take while swimming, because it's clouds, not water.
Also I'm guessing that Pyra & Mythra's alt colors will reference the various party members of XC2, both main story and Torna.
One costume has to be them switching colors, and one is [spoilers]. Also I saw a fan render of KOS-MOS/T-elos and Lin/Elma colors. Those looked really nice and I would like those too. And of course the other party member's colors too.
@@ShallBePurified The thing I'm worried about switching colors is that it could possibly be hard to discern which moveset is being used, especially on larger stages in free-for-alls.

Nice and yes should be a good character. My guess is the recovery will be pretty eh.
With this reveal, I can already make 2 predictions:
1. Their logo will be the same as Shulk's.
2. The music tracks that they will come with will be added on to the current ones and be available on Gaur Plains, as well as the current tracks being available on their stage. (Similar to how Byleth's music tracks were added on to Castle Siege, Arena Ferox, and Colosseum, and Sephiroth's tracks being added to Midgar. As well as the current ones being available on their stages Garreg Mach Monastery and Northern Cave.)
That is obvious,why a character would have a different logo than another from the same series and be xo sidered different

I would like a little bit more of a cover up for design for Pyra, since Mythra is prety much fully coverd now, and i think that a good thing, at the end of the day they keept they proportions and over all design so it´s preatty cool
I saw a Nia's animation when she try to take a butterfly, This is an animation from the original game and would be great to see Nia and Poppy dance in the background like XB2.
1:33 To me that looks like her dash attack, because it seems like she dashes before it, and a lot of other character's dash attacks look like that.
1:55 It's forward tilt. The flash comes from the sword turning on. It's just very slow.

There is another relatively minor easter egg in the beginning cinematic. Look at what weapon has on his back. Its the standard bladed weapon that he has at the beginning of the game, one of two times throughout the game where you use it.

Im the same. I hadn’t been this excited for a new fighter since banjo myself. I didn’t play xenoblade but from the looks of their moveset, it just appeals to me. Watch the trailer in the slowest speed, mythra’s sounds funny af 😂

Ok Sakurai and Nintendo, you guys gave Pyra and especially Mythra a little redesigning and even still added a little "jiggle" to them, so redesigning Shantae should be a piece of cake if she gets in as a fighter. Literally all they would have to do is make it to where her little top shows less cleavage, so now with this even saying Shantae is too spicy to be included as a fighter is not a valid argument at this point. Come on Nintendo you guys know the people want Shantae as a fighter, please make it so.
Pretty sure it was just a prerelease version of them. They do have to make them first before making some final touches. Odds are they are gonna remove it just so people can stop complaining

I think another reference was when Mythra first used her final smash in the trailer. She used it on Ike and Joker with his blue alt. This is probably a reference to when Mythra first awakens and you are fighting Malos and Akhos.

Finally someone who actually paid attention and didn't just slap foresight onto down b as a counter and say they switch with shield special.
I think Pyra is going to have a fire mechanic where the more hits she lands the more damage and/or knockback her attacks deal. Maybe also changing her smash attacks
cool analysis. although I am now worried they may be a big of just hold the smash stick in the direction of the opponent while in air kinda of fighters.

Both of the attacks you're unsure of are their Dash attacks. you can notice their movement ending very similarly to many swordie attacks from FE.
