- Here is a comparison between Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (and Torna - The Golden Country) for the moveset, animations and costumes of Pyra and Mythra.

One thing I think you missed was Mythra’s down taunt, she says “Think you can take me?” Which is exactly what the Ardainian Soldiers say when fighting you.

Wasn't the whole ardainian soldier voice lines a bit in the studio where the translation team were messing around or something and it just stuck.

Oh god the vietnam flashbacks just kicked in ill never forget when they toned the soldiers saying that line in the game down thank you to whoever suggested that to the developers.

Well in XC2 (lore wise) pyra is supposed to be the weaker/less destructive one, with mythra being stronger. (I guess it could be that mythra as a way bigger areas of affect with her powers while pyra is way more condensed)

I love how they kept the ether lines during their level 3 Specials (Blazing End and Lightning Buster) and Final Smashes. They can be hard to see with all the effects and without frame-advance, but it's possible to see the various glowing green lines running along their skin in those circumstances. These include along their arms, legs, and two parallel lines down their back. Fun fact: these are basically their blood vessels, with ether as their blood and the Core Crystal as their heart.

Man the tone of voice they use to announce their moves in smash sound way better than in xc2
Not really, the "flame nova" and stuff is all pretty much the same but in this video when they used Flame nova in xc2 it just used a different voice line

Remember hearing somewhere that the black and red alt costume is a possible reference to the Weltall mech from Xenogears. They probably can't say it outright since Xenogears is still technically owned by Square Enix, but it would be really cool if it is.

And the tricolour one is a reference to the Xenogears mech itself
For the costume I think the one where Pyra get more red and Mythra white and black could potentially be a reference to Elma and Lin from XCX the color are really similar

The black and red alt is closer to the Weltall, the main protagonist's Gear from Xenogears. The blue, white, and red alt is also very close to the titular Xenogears itself.

For the smash player that have never played XC2...yes the smash versions of those s characters are censored🥲😅
I was hoping we would get their swimsuits as an alt skin like Shulk has.
They're only somewhat censored. Mostly less skin revealed by having leggings and coverings etc but overall almost accurately.
I just finished this game in 2 week and yeah I don't even knowing about poppi crystal to upgrade device but still beat malos XD

Yeah, actually i miss him alot, his videos were the best to explain the moveset of for exemple, mario, he just put text in the screen and bam!, Even better than youtubers that almost scream while talking about a moveset.
Hey quick question. I'm still very green when it comes to playing smash and I'm wondering how r u able to use Mythra foresight dodge. I can't seem to trigger it. It be a big help if anyone can tell me
You need to time a dodge perfectly, like Bayonetta's Bat Within
Roll just before you get hit, to practice using falco’s laser or a slow projectile to get the timing down then moving on to faster moves.
The other Gold and Silver color pallets are a reference to Jin and Lora from Torna: The Golden Country.
Those don’t actually have a concrete reference.

are you sure that the dark alt is based on poppi qtpi? it seems very random to reference only one blade of tora, especially the one that he can go the whole game without getting, plus the hair is way darker than qtpi's hair
it seems more like a reference to the artifices, like what malos used in torna or artifice aion

So, Pyra’s only playable during combat in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, well it’s better than nothing.

...I think between that and Mythra's new leggings, Mai's chest wasn't her biggest problem. It was dem gam-gams. And I point that out with the genuine disappointment of not having her represented at all in Smash.
