CORRECTION: The "tricolor aeronautical" color scheme is likely based on the Xenogears gear from Xenogears. My Gundam theory is likely a secondary reference or simply a coincidence! The "villainous" color could likely be based on either T-elos or Weltall, as well!
So apparently p/m when they perform certain moves the same similar red markings appear on their chest which are similar to the Weltall, but it might mean nothing due to all alts having this effect.
I believe Silver Mythra is a reference to Addam Origo the original Driver of Mythra in Torna the Golden Country (DLC); both have silver hair and golden eyes (the eyes of Addam are something really important in the DLC story)
Silver Mythra could also be a reference to Jin And if you want to go super woke, Pyra could the Zohar from Xenosaga and Mythra the item that's used to summon it or Albedo, wich is also related to the Zohar
I think that the Silver Mythra isnt a reference to Addam, because his look is also a Sephiroth & Cloud reference problem, since Mythra is tottaly bright and metalic Silver and Addam clearly wears bright White and Grey, in Sephiroth it was the same thing with the Silver color for Sephiroth not being a reference to Rufus Shinra, Mythra is being bright Silver and the Addam white clothes, so I dont think its a reference to him
Albeit vague, Silver might actually be a pairing to the Gold one, considering that the Gold one might be based on the Zohar, from Xenosaga, and the silver one resembles the Mini-Zohar. There is also the analogy made by Rex about Pneuma being the combination of Pyra and Mythra as "coffee with milk", brown and white, or in this case "Gold and Silver". Also the Saturated Pyra resembles the Monado because she have blue accents instead of the green ones of the default one.
I was thinking the same thing especially with the red and white contrast the characters with Pyra and Id for Red and Mythra and Fei for White respectively.
Personally, I don't think the dark color is Poppi. If it's supposed to be her, it's a terrible reference in my opinion. The white and blue costume could also be a reference to Rex's master driver outfit, although that outfit doesn't have any red on it.

@@catalyst539 I mean they referenced characters like Nia or Jin, so it'd be completely understandable to use a master driver color scheme to reference Rex
The deep red alt for pyra is DEFINITELY a reference to the monado. That red, and that blue (which they changed her core crystal too) is 1000% a reference to the monado! And the final alt, is I think a reference to torna. Mythra is Jin (one of the main charcaters of torna) and pyra is golden, and torna is named “the golden country” even in Japan. I think maybe you should remake the video? Because these two combined with the obvious xenogear alt you missed make most of this obsolete.
I'd add to Felyne reference the fact that Felyne was a camper for Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo through the Felyne amiibo and this style was used for the villager !
The reason why they did that to Pyra and Mythra's clothes is not just because of ESRB who rated Smash Ultimate E10, but also CERO who rated Smash Ultimate A, the equivalent of E, and CERO is way more strict that every rating system we know.

Quick note: The Gold Pyra costume looks incredibly similar to the placeholder image for Rare Blade artwork in Xenoblade 2. Also of note is that the Common Blade placeholder image hapens to resemble the Pneuma alt for Pyra quite a bit.
...Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw the "villainous" colors and thought "holy shit, Pyra gets a Kill La Kill alt"
What were the mii fighters? I don’t think they were shown in the showcase
I remember one of then was a Monster Hunter skin
They were. Rathalos Armor from Monster Hunter, Hunter's Armor from Monster Hunter, Felyne Hat from Monster Hunter, and Sir Arthur from Ghosts and Goblins
@@NinjaPickle Arthur should've been a fighter, but oh well. As long as Shantae is never, EVER a Mii costume, I'm good.
@@Apocalypso64 next thing you know they annonce shantae mii out of the blue. XD
@@Apocalypso64 Monster Hunter and Tails were two of my most requested characters.... now you all will pay. MII COSTUMES FOR EVERY CHARACTER ANYONE HAS EVER WANTED
The gold and silver alts are references to Lora and Jin, the protags of the torna DLC. And the blue that you thought was gundham I think is a reference to KOS-MOS
Why would the gold be a reference to Lora? She hardly has any gold on her at all.
@@bradaloop it’s similar enough, and the fact that it’s paired up with silver makes it more likely. Imo of course
@@mastersword648 how is it similar? She is like 0.1% golden, the colours don't add up at all
@@bradaloop the costume is dark gold, which is a similar shade to brown (though admittedly it still is a lot brighter brown)
I am less confident in that theory, but I do think that the blue, white and red color scheme is kos-mos
I think that the gold and silver alt is a reference to Pokémon Gold & Silver. This year is Pokémon’s 25th anniversary.
Honestly I was really hoping for their swimsuit alts, but smash is for good boys and good girls.
I am guessing they look very hot in those outfits!!!
What I don’t understand is how can Shulk have one of his outfits be him in a swimsuit but Pyra and Mythra can’t?
There just swimsuits🤔
@@soraandkairi1194 yeah, their swimsuits are slightly less revealing compared to zero suit Samus's 7th and 8th alterenate costumes
@@plushvolt7612 That’s what I thought was the case!
Cause those outfits or costumes for Samus are very revealing and I doubt those ones for Pyra and Mythra would be as revealing so to me it kinda seems like a weird decision but who knows maybe there is a explanation.
@@soraandkairi1194 Thats why we have modding lol
@@plushvolt7612 True!
I bet someone will get on that sometime😂
I like the enhanced ones being the 7th alt, I like the red accent on mythra and the dark blue instead of the light green, they just pop more while keeping their original colours

I think these sking might be based on Kos-mos colors.
Alt 4 and 4 seem to be Xenogears references with 4 being based on Weltall (Like seriously, it doesn’t look like Poppi at all) and 5 being based on, well, the Xenogears.
The 7th one has Pyra looking like the Monado and Myhtra looking like the character “catalyst” (and if you don’t know who that is then look up Xenoblade catalyst)
i'd like to say it also looks like Senketsu, witch is the living clothes from Kill La Kill
I’m disappointed they didn’t make Arthur a premium costume model. Would’ve made his inclusion more special
Y e s
Lloyd Irving is getting in Smash.
I haven't watched Aaronitmar in a lonngg time. Dude had some sick MK videos
The gold and silver skins might be a reference to the Zohar and the Lifehold in the Xeno-series. And I believe the aeronautic tri-color one references KOS-MOS from Xenosaga.
Dude I had the same thought when I saw their white/blue color, I looked at it and said "dude they gave her a Gundam color. Nice model render you found for the picture to. It kinda looks like a HG model.
The dark color is also a reference to the xenogears franchise and the blue alts are based on Kos-mos form xenosaga
If you want my personal theory: I believe the gold and silver alts are a possible reference to aurum and argentum, the wolves of gold and silver.
The platinum/silver Mythra makes think of Black Heart from Neptunia.
the pyra's more red-ish alt is based off the monado since the lights and the core crystal become blue
It's always a good day when Aaronitmar uploads
Me watching a pg rated video for smash (or so I though) then here’s Arron say “chest” gap 😂
My brother and I finally got Pyra and Mythra last night! We've started calling the teal alt their Miku skin and the purple one their Kill la Kill skin
All I could think of for the Gold, Silver/Platinum color is a Pokemon reference despite the Platinum being a different gen than Gold/Silver
Don’t worry. The Lloyd costume is coming.
the last alternate colors for pyra/mythra reminds me or the game pokemon gold/silver
thanks you for doing it
The costume number 7 is maybe a reference to Elma and Lin from XCX the colour are really similar (except the hair)
I kept thinking the Pneu*a color scheme was reference to earlier Xenoblade heroine KOS-MOS, whose name I had to look up. [Also, I REALLY wish they had done the Sans/Cuphead thing with Sir Arthur and included a music track; the Level 1 theme is iconic]
The villain and Gundam ones are probably refrences to telos and kosmos from Xenosaga
I love the 5th costume.
The tricolor may be a reference to rex's outfit at the end of the game too!
I wish Gormotti Hood-Pyra/Nia-Mythra was an actual alternate cosume and not just a palette swap
Also disappointed there was no Legendary level Turters spirit with Tiny green Squirtle
I think color 8 makes a reference where Rex calls Pyra and Mythra Coffee with Milk
(1:00) Smash censorship has nothing to do with ESRB. So far, Sakurai has only stated that he has needed to do censorship did to the CERO rating system. (After all, everything doesn't revolve around USA, what a shocker)
Did you not look at the screen when he was saying that? Because he had a visual note about other rating systems.
2:02 *Looks at the smash costume, looks back the original Pyra costume where you can blantly see the strings of her underwear, which the new leggins you can see cover under instead of over like leggins usually do, and it's practically a swim suit more then normal clothes* *Aaronitmar says it was too revealing Mythra's costume which showed the back, which everyone has, and boob window which is pretty common in certain formal dresses, and a short end which is pretty common to wear along side leggins which were added on Smash*
Me: Hahahahaahahahahaha
I believe the gold and silver colour alt is a reference to Jin and Lora
I always thought the dark color scheme was a reference to Malos (Black Hair/Colors) and Alvis' Core Crystal (key was replaced by Red Aegis Core Crystal in Definitive Edition).
Fully convinced that Sakurai hates you when he did that bit during the presentation lmfao
4th color scheme is also referencing to Daemon X machina imo (5th is definitely gundam)
