Just look at the sword colors. Pretty sure the swords stay the same color to avoid this exact issue

I love that you can combo as sword sheik and then swap to ganondorf whenever you want.
Except that Ganondorf wields their sword full time.

Yeah the red one is insanely strong while the other is insanely fast. Its a free arsene whenever you want, and palu nair combos when you don't

I just thought of a concept for anime Mario Bros, or to be more accurate, the Mario & Luigi series Mario Bros. They would work like the ice climbers, they would have attacks more focused around fire and lightning and hammers, and their specials would be Bros attacks. Up special would be bounce Bros, side special would be cyclone Bros, down special would kick a shell and natural special would have Mario and Luigi use fire band and thunder band together. Final smash would have Luigi suck an opponent into the dream world which would transport the victim into a Cutscene where they would get barraged with Luiginary attacks. I know it wouldn't work considering Mario and Luigi are already in the game but hey we have Mario and Dr Mario as well as 3 versions of Samus so it's not completely stupid... Okay it kind of is but it would still be cool!

I see nothing wrong with it.
I already fought a toxic pyra mythra, everytime they took a stock, they'd t-bag combo into down B switching them like crazy. 👍

my friend kept getting me with the pyra ledgeguard, i almost threw my switch
I love using that to edgeguard people.
Me and my friend were testing them last night and he kept using Chroma Dust to edgeguard me.
Mythra's Photon Edge is the best ledgeguard, in my opinion.

as a game and watch main it makes me want to rip *their* switch in half
I can't believe they made a move that's more extra than Sephiroth's Octaslash...

Needed more fast slash attacks in here. NOW WHERE ARE THE NEW BOSSES AND BOSS RUSH MODE. EVEN A NEW SMASH RUN WOULD SUFFICE.

Chip damage and down tilt with Mythra and then switch to Pyra to kill at stupid percents.

Fun fact: Pyra's codename is flame, Mythra's is light, and combined is element.
Well it's cus pyra is Greek for Flame and Mythra is Greek for Light. One more fun fact. In the jp version Pura us called Homura which means flame in Japanese and Mythra is called Hikari which means Light in Japanese. Really like these small details they put in the original.

I feel like Pyra and Mythra are similar to Pokemon trainer. Just without Bulbasaur. For example, Mythra is like Squirtle, a speedy approach character that has good horizontal recovery. Then Pyra is like Charaizrd without a flame blitz. In that same sense, Mythra puts in the damage early on and then Pyra comes in and kills you at 50 with one smash attack.

mythra: JUMPY GURL

Fun fact: Pyra's utilt kills at 120%

Found a combo for mythra at 0% i want to share: Down tilt, up tilt,Up B (not held) for 25%

Yeah, but not optimal at 0. You'll mostly want to do Dtilt, Nair, Utilt, Nair, UpB for a 36% combo. There's also Down-Throw, Fair, Up-B. And Triple Back air into UpB. There's actually so much combos with bair and UpB...

It's not as good as that, but I've been using Side B for about 20%.
Finally. A 2nd character with a competetively optimal alt to bamboozle your opponents. Sakurai didn't bring up Ice Climbers in the direct as a coincidence.
Here's how I think you should react to fighting these characters:
Pyra: Get a fast character and camp, Pyra's slower than Bowser. Not sure how that's possible but it is.
Mythra: fall off the stage, you have no hope of escape.

@@xellanchaos5386 0 to death refers to take a stock with one combo (for example: Byleth vs DK), obviously, you can repeat the process in all the three stocks.

I kinda found one, but it's probably not true. Dtilt -> SH Fair -> Utilt -> Utilt -> SH Nair -> SH Fair -> SH Fair -> UpB (Chroma Dust, not Ray of Punishment). You can remove an Utilt, but you can also finish it with a Neutral-B instead (once again, I don't think it's true)
Even though I haven't played the games, Pyra & Mythra are slowly becoming one of my mains. I just need to get a strategy down on how to use them.

Everyone says that pyras f smash is too strong and kills too early but king dedede’s f smash kills at 3% fully charged

They both have jiggle physics with everything
They're probably one of the funnest characters I played from most of the dlc characters that released
The most fun I've had with DLC are Steve and Pyra/mythra so I'm in agreement
Except when you're fighting them, then you have to suffer through Pyra's side b spam.
I just got them yesterday, and now I’m already thinking of switching my main from Palutena to Pythra
I’m starting to think if little Mac was released now he would be considered broken.
Tbf, he was considered pretty strong at first in Smash 4. Then people started fighting him on something that wasn't FD.
*if I’m on a stage with no ledge ya sure* I trick my friends into a winner picks the stage rule and all I had too do was win one match from then on little mac on the boxing stage non stop win streak. *until I changed the stage too prove a point* I WAS GONNA WIN THAT MATCH but got killed via bs gapping on the Spirit tracks stage.
byleth for example, everyone immedietely knew was mid tier at best
*also, while everyone excited for pyra/mythra, I'm just absolutely thrilled that we FINALLY got a buff for ganondorf. It's a small one but a crucial one. they cut his endlag in HALF when he lands his up special on someone.
This means it's no longer a guarantee that you can just let yourself get grabbed by it offstage, wall jump tech it, and get a free KO on ganon as he's stuck in the ending animation. Ganon now has the frame advantage most of the time. He can hit you with a uair, a nair, Flame choke suicide KO, or if you get WAY to greedy, he can get a dair on you, turning things around instantly. Ganondorf now get's rewarded finally for landing his up special on people should they attempt to try and gimp his recovery. Opponent's now have to seriously think about whether it's worth it or not to try and go after a ganondorf recovering off stage, or to just let him back.
Yes under certain situations you can still wall jump tech check his recovery, but it's no longer laughably easy, and it's a drastically higher risk tactic now that might not be worth it.
There were a couple of decent buffs and nerfs in this patch.
@@skyblade7438 eh idrc about other characters buffs/nerfs. Ganon has been in such drastic need of ANY sort of buffs , that the fact that we finally got one, and a good one at that, has me absolutely thrilled. This helps one of his biggest issues, recovery. Sure there’s other things that could have probably helped more, but just the fact that he’s no longer screwed for landing his up special now while trying to recover is HUGE.
I’ve already seen one really cool switch combo.. however it definitely wasn’t true, and it looked verrrrryyyy situational
I love projectiles that are large and fast that rapidly hit you for a solid ten seconds that do 20%

Yeah, there's a certain amount of mixups you have, but you're gonna have to get used to it. Snapping the ledge while descending with Pyra Up B is a pretty good mixup.

Can't wait for the next pair up mechanic to be Master Chief and a covenant alien or something. Or Sora, Donald and Goofy. None of these are happening, but still.
If Master Chief makes it in and not DoomGuy, this is the wrong timeline.
If both come to smash its the best timeline

I didn't know who this character was because I have not played their game, but they look very fun to play.
I recommend playing their game Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Though it wasn't advertised great, but for me it's a really great game. It has a great story, good music and good characters.

Definitely play this game. Very good in a lot of ways. Has flaws but overall it’s become one of my favorite switch games

Like I said on hungrybox’s video, Pyra is like Ganondorf, Byleth, and Roy all at the same time. And mythra is all of those with captain falcon.
Seems like in comparison to shulk, mythra would be monado speed, where as pyra would be smash and maybe shield?
I would say yes to speed and smash, but not buster and shield. Mythra is fast, but she doesn't deal that much damage. Pyra kills crazy early, but her defense is nothing special and she is very slow.

They bring Pyria and Mythria but reject Mai Shiranui as a background character in the fatal fury stage....the hell man. They both have jiggle physics, so why can't we have Mai's jiggle physics in here too. Lots of hypocrisy over there at Nintendo.

I love mythra n prya definitely my new mains :) your gonna enjoy your xenoblade 1 and 2 playthoughs. I only played them myself after the difinitive edition of 1 came out n I loved them big xenoblade fan now! I'm a mythra fan myself mostly cuz of her personality she is a badass
I mean Pyra has no personality to speak of, and becomes irrelevant as soon as Mythra is revealed.

They need to make his hitboxes more consistent overall

B- reversing mythras up b helps the recovery because she kicks the opposite direction at the end.

One thing I don’t get is that in Xenoblade 2 Mythra is the more powerful of the two but here Pyra does more damage.
Nah, Pyra has better burst damage in Xenoblade 2 also. Her crits are insane.

With how the DLC has been going I wouldn't be surprised if Crash gets in and he can use invincible Aku Aku for like 10 seconds.
would've rather had crash tbh, would've been a way better character instead of sword with tits that also swings swords.
I'm already playing Pyra and Mythra online. They are tons of fun. Though I've fought 2 dittos, a pichu twice, and a Ness who raged quitted.

This character is legit brain dead. Not since Joker have I seen a character in this game be so obviously overpowered for minimal effort, its beyond salt inducing, lol.
I already got used to Mythra's speed. She feels so fun and natural and that combines to make me feel like I can really make them my own. Pyra's slowness will though just because I spend more time with Mythra and leave her for kills. Also I like Mythra's play style much more but I have use them both more equally and in tandem. Both are broken and are characters I loved(Also they have the best alts)
Also yes the over animeness of Photon Edge is what makes it so great and taht's why it's the coolest special in the game(And Lightning Buster comes out SO quick I love it)

As someone who has played XC2, myhtra was responsible for accidentally sinking 3 titans/continents with one attack so it doesn’t make sense that pyra is the stronger of the 2 here, but hey I’m not complaining.
Mythra had a lot of evasion so it makes sense
Pyra has to have some use for a fighting game.
That’s what I’ve been saying, Pyra in x2 is inferior in every way, heck even plot wise she has no reason to exist.

Pyra can footstool an opponent if they are trapped in her side-b. That will be the starter move for a switch combo.
When a new character comes out, do you train your Amiibo against them so they learn how to fight against that character? If you do, will you be doing a stream or video of your Amiibo fighting against Pyra/Mythra?
I will when their amiibo comes out, and when that amiibo is fully trained, I’ll train it against my 2nd DK amiibo which I only trained against my other 16 amiibos

I was always intimidated by level 9 CPUs but after seeing Choc wreck them, I feel more confident
I heard they were nerfed to be slightly more punishable
They are weak but once a month they will fight like monsters, foreseeing all your moves haha

New dlc usually brings broken characters so I’m not surprised. But honestly this is one of the best dlc in my opinion.
The only incredibly good dlc was joker and he isn't even the best character, let alone "broken".
Is mythra faster than sonic?
probably not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's pretty close

Theres nothing more annoying than getting past the semifinals in a tournament and realizing your final opponent is these two fucking characters

You don’t have to charge, it has enough power already
God, I really wish there was a channel that appreciated the little details and played on non-battlefield/omega form stages. All this overanalyzing movesets and mechanics is just getting old imo
Hats off to Choc for staying up to do this. Especially when he could be in bed with his wife. If you know what I mean.

Pyramid and Mythra May be stupid, but I’m still stupider.
Forget using Mythra Early on then switching later. Switch between them constantly whenever it's most advantageous. You get to reap all the benefits while also disorienting your opponent.
Now, THAT’S more like how I play!
I pulled off the Dashing Mythra switch to Pyra with F-Smash from behind against a Lv 9 Luigi for a KO.

2:19 "Let's see how dumb Pyra is." I mean, technically she does contain a third of the power of the processing unit that destroyed the entire multiverse and then created a new one. It's always a good thing when characters are as powerful in smash as they are in their own universes... Bayonetta...
Yet she can’t win one fight, not with morag, not with vandham, not with brigid by herself.

These dlc characters are cool! The skillsets are great. I don't own them yet but man I have the most awesome fights playing against them online.
About 1:27, I can already see a way to avoid that edge guard. It'll be annoying either way, but not as bad. I'm a Hero main, so I'd simply try to fast fall under it then use my up special to grab onto the ledge. As soon as the Sword returns to Pyra, jump or roll back up. You could use Lucario, Pit, Dark Pit, and other high recovery characters to mimic Hero. If you're using a character with bad aerials, that's where it gets really bad.
Lightning buster mythras neutral b is kinda stupid. She has a hitbox above her while charging the move, she can turn around like most characters with such a special but that isn't even necessary since the first hit catches enemies behind you and pulls them infront of you.
I laugh at Rex. He’s supposed to be a main character but he’s far outclassed by Pyra & Mythra.
That is a pretty low bar he’s setting though.
