5:58 Just wanna correct this, sakurai has posted pictures of Xc1 stuff such as a model monado before even smash 4. So he was at least at fan of the first game
He's also a big fan Of the Persona series Which is why Joker was given an Invite to Smash and why the Mementos stage was put in with music from Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5
@@Oracle24_ It is now its showtime which I believe is an actual line in game. Would've been cool if the background characters in the Alrest Stage said things. Zeke shouting "Im really feeling it" with Shulk would be perfection.
I've been wondering if Costume #7 is maybe a reference to Future Connected. Pyra is the Monado Replica EX and Mythra is the World Ender (Melia's new staff). That's the closest match I can think of for Mythra that would connect to the Monado.
They probably could not do it because it would had been too on the nose. I mean I'm sure Bandai Namco would have approved it as they helped with the development of both Smash Wii U/3DS and Smash Ultimate... but Sakurai probably did not want to use that reference as he may had not played Xenosaga.. who knows Sakurai works in mysterious ways.
I think Pyra’s white and blue alt can refer to Rex’s Overdrive outfit. It looks really similar if you look at the two sprites together, the enhanced Rex spirit and Pyra’s color scheme.
7:40 Im pretty sure the blue skin changes mythra's core crystal to a blue on the artwork but im not sure about in-game, while skin 7 changes pyra's to a blue core crystal.
I was thinking the Mythra alt 7 reminds me heavily of Melia (the red highlights tying into her Future Connected weapon). Only reserve I have there is that her hair isn't tinted to match.
For the sixth costume Mythra’s core crystal is actually a light blue instead of a cyan sea foam kind of thing so they each have two castanets with different colored core crystals
I think for #7, Pyra is supposed to represent the Monado 1/2, and Mythra is supposed to represent Zanza's Monado. All the colours are there, and Zanza's Monado is basically the unsealed version of that Monado, and it goes with the theme of Mythra being the unsealed version of Pyra.
Huh I thought Mythra #6 was the Trinity processor colours. She has the colours of all Aegis cores but I agree with the Pyra Omnigear Weltall reference! And #5 is clear as day Weltall. I mostly caught everything else you said except the Coffee and Milk thing.... which would be hilarious. I actually do think it is 100% the Zohar though... maybe Mythra as a Kirchwasser or Proto Omega silver since it does have the Zohar at one point. I didn't think about Albedo hah. Too bad Sakurai will never say cause of legal reasons. Isn't it also strange KOS-MOS wasn't referenced even once? No mii costume, no spirit, no alt colour. It's pretty strange to me since she's the brainchild of Monolith Soft. My hope is that since we got the fighter spirits for Pyra and Mythra with their figurine art that maybe Namco will have asked for KOS-MOS and we could get Tanaka's KOS-MOS art on the figurine box realized in smash as well. However, it would sure feel strange to have two Xeno series in the pass so I guess that wont happen.
I think for the 6th palette, Pyra is the Xenogears while Mythra is Deus (with the black leggings potentially just trying to make a difference between the two and make it clear one is the antagonistic one) Edit: I got another one, this time for the 8th palette: what if, while Pyra is the Zohar from Xenosaga, Mythra was meant to ressemble XC2's equivalent of it known as the Conduit? The varying shades of grey could be trying to emphasize the greens of her core crystal through contrast while still referencing how bright the Conduit seems to be shining in its appearance, and the black leggings are just leftover from default, leaving the greens being kept as is to complete the look.
I gotta poke some lighthearted fun: You: "Getting out of spoilers -" You, five seconds later: "Just a sword" Me: *gestures at specifically updated necklaces and cool cross-universe brothers*
I remember thinking the black alt was a reference to Malos, but then I realised if they were gonna reference Malos, they'd probavly use something closer to the Carbon Mythra DLC costume.
That Pyra costume that you said was bothering you has some resemblance to the Pneuma-like costume that you mentioned earlier that is in Xenoblade 2 just minus the mint green hair.
For costume 7 pyra, her core crystal Turing blue could be a reference to the fact that’s she’s effectively mythra’s blade, so her core turns blue to match every other blade
This might be a huge reach but I think the costume 5 (the villianous outfit) resembles T-elos from Xenosaga while costume 6 (the sky blue outfit) resembles "Arc system works" characters: Justice from Guilty Gear (Pyra) and Mu-12 from Blazblue (Mythra). Again, it's a huge reach.
I think that Alt 5 is referenced after Persona 5/P5 Strikers, and I think this because at the same day Pyra and Mythra were released, people who bought P5 Strikers(Which I believe launched on the same day as Pythra) got a spirit from P5 Strikers.
so a thing that is weird with the gormotti hoody pyra uses in xc2is that the ears are the wrong way. gormotti have the ears looking to the sides, but the hoody has the hears looking to the front.
Hey luxin. I was just playing through xenoblade DE. And i noticed something. The hidden machina village is quite similar to an ARK ship from xenoblade X. Took a look from the fallen arm - secret area thumb down to the village and compare them.
I always thought that alt 6 was a reference to Skyla from Pokemon. It wouldn't make a lot of sense as a reference to make besides the fact that Skyla and Pyra have similar outfits
I'm not sure if you already mentioned this in a video, if so I will gladly go and watch that, but *Spoilers* Is Alvis the third Aigis? I can see how he could be considered to be, not to mention the fact that Malos has a Monado and if you REALLY stretch the definition you could consider Pneuma to have a monado as well. Plus Alvis's necklace looks a lot like the aigis core crystal. I haven't finished XC1, but I pretty much know the spoiler about the monado being his to a basic degree.
He has a ~37 minute in-depth video on the subject of the third Aegis (simply titled "Ontos"), as well as videos on the two Aegises we know and the Monado. I'd recommend giving all three a watch (starting with the Monado, ending with Ontos) once you finish the game. Also, a note about the necklace: They actually changed it in Definitive Edition; it was a key in the original.
I wish there was a 9th alt that made them look like... Aion? Aeon? The ultimate artifice. Pyra would look like the white half obviously and the Mythra would be the black one. Actually, now that I think about it, their evil skin makes them both look like the black half of Aion
As a diehard XS fan, thanks for the vid, I loved seeing the Easter eggs as XC2 is my favorite XS game. Also, yes, for some reason, Nintendo hates X which is sad bc X was a great XS game, and I’m hype for XCY xD
Gold Pyra has to be the Zohar while Silver Mythra has to be the silver Zohar Emulator used by Omega Res Novae in Xenosaga 3 before taking in the original Zohar and becoming Omega Metampsychosis.

That could also mean that Pyra is ironically be referencing Mythra
XENOBLADE Y HYPE IS REAL
Addam outfit definitely match default Mythra the most.
No it references Pokémon Gold and Silver
I think it’s Jin and Lora

On a side note, can we just appreciate the fact that Sakurai made mythra's down taunt one of the quotes from the Ardanian soldiers?
