@@nico1et if you'll notice, when she says "that awful sound" that means he was cruel to her and always let her down in one way or another. Either hurting her physically or emotionally. BUT HAY, WHAT ABOUT THAT PINK FRINGE MINI DRESS AND THOSE MATCHING GO-GO BOOTS!!?? WOW!!🌼 She was SO groovy too. "BANG,BANG!! She hit the ground." That part is so sad.

Of course, it's her performance and that's count for performer, actors, actresses.
If the actors/actresses play the roles in the movies with the voice and the act like they're reading the book, we don't like it. They need to put the feeling in there.
See her face after the song when she rolled down the stage? She was happy. I like it.

@@mycarolinaskies Not all female artists, I mean I know basically nothing about the 70s, I was born a decade later, but even I heard of ABBA or Barbara Streisand or Janis Joplin etc. In fact, I think I'd struggle more if I tried to remember solo male singers from the 70-s off the top of my head (tbh, the only thing that comes to mind is Rickroll lol). Whatever the case, Kill Bill made a wonderful job of (re)discovering lesser known and half-forgotten talent and incorporating them in an otherwise quite trashy movie.

I was five, and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight
    [Hook]
Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
    Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down
    [Verse 2]
Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
"Remember when we used to play?"
    [Hook]
Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
    Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down"
    [Verse 3]
    Music played, and people sang
Just for me the church bells rang
    Now he's gone, I don't know why
And ‘til this day sometimes I cry
    He didn't even say "Goodbye"
He didn't take the time to lie
    [Hook]
