Bless you for doing that! I was my Mother's caregiver for many years. I used to enjoy playing the songs that truly defined her life for her. She died on February 13th 2022 and I miss her every moment with every breath. Continue cherishing your sweet Mother 🥀
Is sad, very sad if anybody knows the history behind this masterpiece. So I learned this was wrote after a little 11 years old black girl was rape and kill by white racists assholes. After so much indifference back in the sixties, Nina decided to leave United States of North America and exile in France. After so much pain on her soul she opt to lie to her own conscience a wrote this unforgettable lyrics. She felt good.

Agreed… She’s wonderful… And she sure sings the heck out of this song!… And what a pianist she was. But she did not write it. The great Anthony Newley did. It comes from a Broadway show… 1964… The brilliant young Black singer, POWERFUL Gilbert Price 🏆 sang it - check him out on RUclips - unbelievable voice - his character finally becomes free at the end of the show. The song was written: about racism. ❤
I was extremely happy to hear this song again in the movie Perfect Days. It fit the scene perfectly. For those who haven't seen, please watch it. Excellent slice of life movie.
I haven't ever listened to one of her songs without feeling a type of emotion. I can't really explain it. It's like i cant listen and "just listen." I bet her presence was intense. Her voice is something else. Very powerful woman. She reminds me so much of my grandmother. She even looks like her.
I needed to hear this song. I’m going through a lot of different emotions and this song helps me every morning to get up and understand that everything is going to be okay and it’s a new day. Her voice helps you feel good.
This song has been stuck in my head for weeks now, but I never knew the title. I tried every verse! Hallelujah now I got it! Yes sir it's a NEW DAY!!! Project it!

Sometimes music can be medicine.. can heal us.
Music has the power to change how we feel.
Once upon a time, I had built walls around my heart to protect myself. The walls were so high and so thick that you would think it was a fortress.
It worked. Nothing was getting in, also, nothing was getting out.

can I have your list
I didn't understand how powerful this song was until I realized how much I suffered under the hands of another person being whatever they wanted me to be and just because they cared for me since I was a baby doesn't mean they own my .... life. Now that I don't need their approval any more. I feel free. ❤❤❤❤❤ I finally understand this song now . My mind is finally free. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 2024 RIP to them.
2019, still rocking
Bro ! I thought I’m the only one listening to this in 2019! For real I’m stuck in this GEN.

One of the greatest songs ever made. A legend. A musical genius. Rest in paradise Ms. Simone ❤
Imagine hearing this for the first time when she sang this... I can't even imagine how lucky those people were...
AMAZING!
I cant even imagine the strife she was singing about... but she expressed it...
I was extremely happy to hear this song again in the movie Perfect Days. It fit the scene perfectly. For those who haven't seen, please watch it. Excellent slice of life movie.
I am so grateful this autoplayed after I listened to Four Women, that instrumental is kickass and instantly recognisable!
Que voz, que música, que mulher incrível!
Que voz.. q interpretaçao... QUE MULHERÃO ❤
Chega a arrepiar não é?
Me when I unplug my headphones from my iPod and a fucking alien jumps down behind me

Nothing more than the Legend. Simone owns this song.
One of the greatest blues’ singer... BEAUTIFUL!!!
Goosebumps. What a song! What a voice!
Just watched two movies in one week.
Perfect days &
A quiet place day one.
Both of them has this song in the climax. A perfect song.
Her voice…her talent is ageless - Nina Simone
She was also a classically trained pianist. She attended Julliard. Her training brilliantly informs her performances.
Vozes assim me enchem de arrepios. Poderosa & representativa.
Her voice and the instrument are mystic ❤
I used to here it everywhere but couldn't find this masterpiece. Now I have and the lyrics and the music truly magical.
I hope u r doing well , remember from dust we come to dust we turn . Find a purpose in Life and dont follow the masses , peace ......
Nina Simone sings her entire soul with the tune. Simply an amazing woman.
This song exudes resistance and endurance.
I love her -- she truly sings from the soul -- she's so beautiful and unique.
Popped in to see if this song still slaps in 2024………YUP! STILL SLAPS!!!!
Wow.
How have I never heard of her?
Just listened to a few of her songs I found on accident.
She’s a new bad-ass in my book now.
This song has been stuck in my head for weeks now, but I never knew the title. I tried every verse! Hallelujah now I got it! Yes sir it's a NEW DAY!!! Project it!
This song gives me the courage to keep fighting! I been suffering a terrible depression and songs like that helps me to get through it.
