Cool murder mystery. I never heard of this guy before. Talk about the mother from Hell! She sounded like she was pretty powerful for the times. I will have to read this book! Thank you Jordan!

Jordan, I was wondering when you were going to get around to the unsolved Taylor murder. Thank you so much for this particular vlog. Sidney Kirkpatrick's book is excellent. If you're interested in Mary Astor, read Ed Sorrell's recent book about her life and lurid trial when her husband found her diary, detailing her affairs and rating her lovers. When the husband threatened to introduce the diary into evidence in their divorce trial, the studio bosses did some fancy footwork to have that diary supressed at all costs. The illustrations alone make it worth reading.

Since it’s the 100th anniversary, I’ve been binging on video about WDT. This, IMHO, is the best one. Not overly dramatic and very matter-of-fact. Easy to follow along.

Old Hollywood history mystery, Vaudeville, the flickers, Silent movies.. fascinating time period. I don't recognize any of the names except Mabel Normand. This was such an interesting story, thank you so much Jordan for digging into this one. Well done!

Fascinating. And, btw, his murder took place 4 days before the birth of my grandmother. I know, one has nothing to do with the other, but I noticed the date and it made me think about that.

BRILLIANT AGAIN! Hollywood murder mystery of the 1920s. Quite a few theory's, but, I do think it was Mary Minter's mother. So sad that so many of these early actress's mother's had to be so controlling and sometimes so jealous of their daughter's that they resort to ruining their daughter's lives and career's, even though they brought in all the money that kept them! So great how you get all these photographs from the past aswell. Great vlog again Jordan!

I love your Vlogs. Now the case is 100 years old! However, having studied this case after reading the King Vidor book over 30 years ago and looking into other sources the double life Taylor was living was in regard to his former life in NY. There is no evidence he was a homosexual. There is a reference though that his butler got into trouble with the law regarding his trying to pick up men in a park and Taylor tried to help him. It is still Hollywood's greatest mystery. Hollywood's greatest tragedy is that they keep knocking down historical landmarks.

Hi. I'm a pretty new follower. But I love the old vintage moviestars. It was so much more glam over them. Handsome men wore suits and looked very smart 😉. I have heard about William Desmond Taylor but not the females. I remember when I was little, I watched a lot of old movies with my mother. Usually it was a matiné on tv during the day time. It could be anything. All the goodies from the '40s and '50s. But also earlier and later. I loved the dance and song movies. Those movies usually made you happy 😃.
Have you done anything about Frances Farmer? If not, you should really look into that one.
You really make great vlogs. Love watching them.

Nice job. I became interested in this case many years ago when I read A Cast Of Killers. Recently I looked into buying the book again, and got a little confused. Do you know if there is a second edition of this book that contains new information, photos, etc.? One small criticism: I seem to remember his home being referred to as a bungalow, as opposed to an apartment building which is how you describe it. I only mentioned this because it wasn't a large building, apparently. Keep up the good work!
