Cool murder mystery. I never heard of this guy before. Talk about the mother from Hell! She sounded like she was pretty powerful for the times. I will have to read this book! Thank you Jordan!
Many showbiz mothers were like this. Mary Astor had a similar mother
Jordan, I was wondering when you were going to get around to the unsolved Taylor murder. Thank you so much for this particular vlog. Sidney Kirkpatrick's book is excellent. If you're interested in Mary Astor, read Ed Sorrell's recent book about her life and lurid trial when her husband found her diary, detailing her affairs and rating her lovers. When the husband threatened to introduce the diary into evidence in their divorce trial, the studio bosses did some fancy footwork to have that diary supressed at all costs. The illustrations alone make it worth reading.
@@DazewithJordantheLion another interesting mystery to solve would be about Thelma Todd. And the ultimate, the Black Dahlia...
Since it’s the 100th anniversary, I’ve been binging on video about WDT. This, IMHO, is the best one. Not overly dramatic and very matter-of-fact. Easy to follow along.
Love those old Hollywood stories. Great investigative reporting. Thanks, Jordan.
Add investigative reporter to your resume Jordan! Just got time today to see the vlog. Very in-depth coverage of an almost 96 yr old crime that everyone has forgot. You are always vlogging old things in a new way. Thank you!
Old Hollywood history mystery, Vaudeville, the flickers, Silent movies.. fascinating time period. I don't recognize any of the names except Mabel Normand. This was such an interesting story, thank you so much Jordan for digging into this one. Well done!
Fascinating. And, btw, his murder took place 4 days before the birth of my grandmother. I know, one has nothing to do with the other, but I noticed the date and it made me think about that.
Hollywood need to make a movie on this crazy scandal. Great research Jordan
Detective Jordan. Great job on this video I loved it. Nice history, even better murder mystery. You tell a great story. Please do another soon. I love the LA crime and movie stuff. The stories of the truth. As a retired Detective myself , this stuff is very interesting, and fun to investigate. Big 👍 up on this video. Stay sage my friend.
My mother has ruined everything I've ever tried to do. Many of us just can't get away no matter how hard we try. I long for freedom!! I understand what she went through and know her mother did it.
I love your silent movie vlogs. They are so interesting
One of Hollywood's strangest mysteries. William J. Mann also wrote a good book about this case called TINSELTOWN.
What a fantastic murder mystery that I have never heard of! Thank you Jordan!
Tangled, complicated and weird! Can't believe how well you can rattle off those names, dates and details like nothing.
Love these old Hollywood stories never heard of this guy... More please 😌
Great vlog, Jordan! I’ve always been fascinated by this old Hollywood Murder Mystery. I read the book years ago and still have it. Your vlog has made me decide to read it again! I love reading about many of the Silent era stars such as Mabel Normand. Clara Bow, Fatty Arbuckle and others. Keep up the good work!
Love to see Jah ❤️
Thank You, for exploring one of my Favorite Classic Hollywood unsolved Crimes!!
😽
Amen to that !! :-)
Very good mystery. Well done👍
The book “Tinseltown” by William Mann gives the most plausible reason behind this story. fascinating read!
Gotta read this!
You are my new favorite RUclips vloger!!!! I am spreading the word here in Georgia! Jordan the Lion ROCKS Hollywood!!!
Very interesting I love these mysteries thank you again Jordon
Thank you for this one. I remember seeing a doc on this murder years ago but not in such detail. It’s a shame those apartments are no longer there. Love that Jah! He’s so cute.
That was so interesting!!.. I love mysteries !!.. Thank You!!!
WOW, WOW, WOW! What a tangled WEB!!! I'm sure to rewatch this vlog, so many twist and turns. Amazing research! TY!
💋Awesome old Hollywood mystery Jordan! Great coverage! Blessings to U, this channel and of-course Mr. Jah. Love and Light 💖Carli
AWESOME VLOG Jordan!! I felt like I was watching a murder mystery with all the actors playing the parts and you were the detective trying to solve it. I was so intrigued. Thank you. Jah is a cutie!!! Peace to you!!
This was a great vlog full of intrigue. I love these old Hollywood mysteries. The best telling of this tragedy I’ve ever heard. 🙂
I never heard about this story. Very interesting.
What a bizarre murder case! It’s difficult to believe it was real life. Jordan, thanks for presenting the various scenarios. The angry mother/lover theory seems right out of an Agatha Christie murder mystery.
or my mystery book u like them
Truth is stranger than fiction.
Wow, that's a Hollywood Whodunnit at its best! That was so interesting Jordan. I really have never heard of those actors, I don't know too much about the early Hollywood stars, but this story is so full of intrigue, it would make a great movie! I learn so much from your vlogs, thank you!
Well said and well put ! I agree 100 per cent !

A terrific horror story!!!!
You're a great researcher... very well done!
Gotta order the book...you've got me hooked!!
Very interesting vlog. Like you say. I guess we will never know the real story. Jah fans will love that you started and ended the vlog with Jah. Thanks for all the research work this must have taken to make this vlog. Will be waiting to see what you have in store for us tomorrow.
Hi Jordan---I realize your favorite things to vlog are your travel adventures which is very understandable. However, my favorite vlogs of yours to watch are, by far, those concerning Hollywood history such as this one. I really hope you keep doing these particular ones as long as you remain in the Hollywood area. Keep up all the good work!
To each their own
Very interesting, quite a few unsolved murder's back in the day. ... When you said, she lived her life in the attic, on a rocking chair.... "Black Christmas" came to mind.. the first one.
What a twisted story. Wow. I haven't heard this before. Very interesting. Thank you Jordan for another fantastic vlog. Much love to you and Jah ❤
What a tragedy and so many people all wrapped up in it! Fascinating story! That house and gazebo was beautiful, now it's an ugly Ross and parking lot. It's so easy to erase history. Take the buildings down and no one remembers.
Wow what a very interesting vlog! Thanks so much
Hi Jordan, enjoy your stuff. Found a website that maybe helpful to you in the future. Its call historical aerial photographs. You can see that apartment complex going back to 1948. Was gone bye 1972. You can look at different years. Anyway pet Jah for us.
One of the earliest and greatest Hollywood mysteries
I love when you vlog old Hollywood. ....and Jahster! !!!
Mabel Normand The girl who invented Hollywood!! Jordan your silent movie era vlogs are your forte.
Interesting mystery I had never heard of before. Thanks
I hope you do more videos like these. I must say this was very interesting. I'm so happy to see Jah back in the videos again. Thank you for sharing another awesome video .
Love the Hollywood Classic vlogs. Sad story of course. Great research as always.
Intriguing. Great reporting. Nice to see Jah on a blue background.
This is probably one of my favorite vlogs of yours👏🏼 I’ve always been interested in the William Desmond Taylor case!
geat upload love these old Hollywood mysteries
Thank you for doing old Hollywood vlogs like this! Never heard of any of the people that you talked about but the story was so interesting.
What a crazy story! I had never heard about it or him. I love this type of vlog though. Thank you Jordan for another great vlog!
Great video. You should go to Nashville and do some stories on famous country music stars that have died. Love your channel. I’m behind on your videos but I’m trying to catch up. 😊❤️
I love a mystery! Great video Jordan!
Great story, I love hearing about movie stars and what did and did not happen. I will look up stories about William Desmond Taylor. Thanks, have a good evening.
What an intriguing mystery! Whoa. Another book to get.👍 How sad for him. The apartment building looked beautiful. Another one bites the dust.
Super vlog
“What a tangled web we. Weave”. Jah was a scene stealer at the end of the video. He has so much personality❣️🐕🦺 Thanks Jordan for another great video and thanks for sharing where to buy soft toilet seats. Hopefully Ross still carries them in 2022. Lol. Getting old is the pitts! ❤️🙏🏻
BRILLIANT AGAIN! Hollywood murder mystery of the 1920s. Quite a few theory's, but, I do think it was Mary Minter's mother. So sad that so many of these early actress's mother's had to be so controlling and sometimes so jealous of their daughter's that they resort to ruining their daughter's lives and career's, even though they brought in all the money that kept them! So great how you get all these photographs from the past aswell. Great vlog again Jordan!
Very interesting. Thanks Jordan for another great story. 🌞
Great Volg!! Fascinating crime. I just can't imagine an innocent person paying someone $200.00 a month for a false alibi. Old Hollywood was a pretty wild place.
Back in the early 80's I saw King Vidor and Frank Capra when they were on a lecture tour. I got their autographs and got to shake hands with them both. Cool guys. I read Vidor's book about this (but I forget most of it. lol. Maybe should read it again).
Enjoyed the great story, you did a wonderful job, thanks Jordan.
Wow! What a tangled web of mystery, intrigue and corruption. Fantastic vlog!
Talk about a riveting murder mystery,... So fascinating and suspenseful. I hope that someone will make a movie out of this case!
I'll have to read this book juicy juicy! I love this kinda stuff the stuff with real history and gossip behind it I've always liked the unknown thank you jordan this was very exciting!
O, what a tangled web....I had read about this scandal but you provided more details. Well it shall remain a Hollywood mystery since all the players are long gone. 😎 Yay Jah!!!
Great job Jordan very thorough.
Love your channel. Blessings to you and your little 4 legged one!
Thanks for the upload, Jordan. Btw, "valet" is pronounced val-lay. Cheers!
Great story and historical research. Nice work Jordan.
Crazy story! Never heard this ! Great vlog!
Personally, I'm inclined to think that dear ol' mother did it, then bought off the DA. I mean, she publicly threatened murder.
She was a strong suspect, but they had no proof.
WDT wasn't gay. I believe MMM was under aged. That's why he rejected her.
Another good job!!!❤❤❤❤
This was so good. Love your vlogs. Hooked
Loved hearing about this fascinating case.
Thanks, Jordan. That was very interesting.
I love a true crime mystery! I just love how Jordan does all types of informative vlogs!!
Bizarre, Did you leave the flowers. If no, it would be interesting to know who did. Thanks for another fun one....
Interesting and informative blog.
This was a fantastic vlog!! I read a book called A Cast of Characters years ago and got hooked on this! I just love old Hollywood and this is the definitive case and you sure did it justice. Thank you and give our Jahster love
You & Jah should be hosting a new version of Unsolved Mysteries :)
"What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his soul"? If this is all true, what did fame and money gain any of these people?
Wow fascinating mystery what a great job you did on this vlog
glad to see someone do a vlog on Taylor. Have been intrigued by this case for years. ..
Never heard of them, but pretty interesting. I love unsolved Hollywood murder cases.
that's some serious drama! 😱
I've always wondered about Taylor's apartment location. Thanks for the info.!
Great blog, riveting!!! Thanks Jordan!!!
Another Great Vlog, loved it! Thank you and Jah🍸🐾
Sorry could not make the live stream Jordan . Thank you for another great video ! ;-)
Another awesome video. Love learning about old Hollywood history Jordan
Wow what a great story
Yes, another great vlog. Thanks!
GOOOD MORNING JORDAN AND JAH!!! VERY INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING, WAS THERE EVER A MOVIE MADE?
I love your Vlogs. Now the case is 100 years old! However, having studied this case after reading the King Vidor book over 30 years ago and looking into other sources the double life Taylor was living was in regard to his former life in NY. There is no evidence he was a homosexual. There is a reference though that his butler got into trouble with the law regarding his trying to pick up men in a park and Taylor tried to help him. It is still Hollywood's greatest mystery. Hollywood's greatest tragedy is that they keep knocking down historical landmarks.
Hi. I'm a pretty new follower. But I love the old vintage moviestars. It was so much more glam over them. Handsome men wore suits and looked very smart 😉. I have heard about William Desmond Taylor but not the females. I remember when I was little, I watched a lot of old movies with my mother. Usually it was a matiné on tv during the day time. It could be anything. All the goodies from the '40s and '50s. But also earlier and later. I loved the dance and song movies. Those movies usually made you happy 😃.
Have you done anything about Frances Farmer? If not, you should really look into that one.
You really make great vlogs. Love watching them.
Greetings from Norway 🤗🤗
Hi Jordan, wow that was so interesting, poor guy eh. Oh and a funny ending to your vlog with Jah 😁
Nice job. I became interested in this case many years ago when I read A Cast Of Killers. Recently I looked into buying the book again, and got a little confused. Do you know if there is a second edition of this book that contains new information, photos, etc.? One small criticism: I seem to remember his home being referred to as a bungalow, as opposed to an apartment building which is how you describe it. I only mentioned this because it wasn't a large building, apparently. Keep up the good work!
What a great vlog today. Very interesting....🧐
