It's sad that something awful has to happen to somebody for society to wake up & take action. But then again that's how we learn about things & how to properly deal with the situation just like Dorothy did. Thank you for sharing this video with us. : )

Amazing that she advocated for this as early (for us) as the late '70's! Back then, I don't recall a thing about viewing addiction as a disease. She was quite ahead of her time.

This really touches a nerve with me....the addiction being a disease. It truly, truly is a disease and it is so important that it be treated properly. So many people will dismiss addiction as being a simple choice and that is such a harmful attitude to have. So thank you for also including that part in this vlog because hopefully someone doubting addiction as a disease may decide to look further and realize it really is a disease...a cunning and baffling disease.

You are so absolutely right about everything you said in your post. Sadly and unfortunately, people look at addicts as dirty, low-down, disgusting, losers who deserve to live on the street and be treated like trash. I hope, one day, people will get educated about addiction and that will all change. 🙏🙏🙏

My Daddy was born in 1910 and he had such a nice signature and handwriting. Seeing Wallace Reid's signature reminded me of that. They don't stress much today about having nice penmanship in school. I wish you would do a video on PaulDeLongpre. When you said DeLongpre Street that reminded me of him. I was fascinated about him when I bought a book about him. He was a famous painter that lived in Hollywood and had the most beautiful house and gardens. Sadly they tore the house down.

Jordan, I found you through ATW...your vlogs are so fun...I live in Seattle and due to kidney failure and being g on dialysis I am unable to travel as I use to...it's so nice having the option to see things vicariously through a few really genuine vlogers...
sadly lately, I have found myself defending ATW against so many trolls, it's sad that people trying to do positive, uplifting things have to face so much negativity...
thank you for offering us the opportunity to come along on your journeys...for so done like me, it means the world!
lots of love and hugs from. Seattle 💕

Very interesting vlog Jordan , I think this was such a respectfully done tribute to this young actor who like many suffer a work accident & are pushed to the side when they become useless in their company. I was injured myself from a work mishap ,boy do I understand you sir. RIP Mr. WilliamWallace Reid sorry for you untimely ending. Maybe partly because of you I was lucky to opt for non addictive pain solutions .

Jordan your videos are really inspiring. I feel as thought I'm there in L.A. This piece on Wallace was heartbreaking. It kind of reminded me of silent film star Ramon Navarro who also started out on top but whose life also ended tragically. Is there a chance you might do a video on this great actor? Again thank you for all the hard work and time in making your videos and sharing them with your fans. I'm praying for you. GOD bless.

It is 2020, I have been a lion heart for about 2 years, and I have never seen the story of Wallace Reid. As usual, I am blown away from Jordan's knowledge and research.
I remember hearing about Wallace Reid as my family has always been involved in Hollywood since the silent era, some involved shamefully so. I didn't know how bad he suffered as his story would make the studio's seem callus and not interested in investing in the human side of their of their talent. I always heard that for decades and some studio heads today would stop at nothing to squeeze every dime including using their talent's physical and emotional energy regardless of hurting their commodities for their financial gain as Hollywood was a big business and less of an Art.
What is interesting is Wallace really did not have an addiction he had a dependency because he was prescribed morphine from his physicians that's the studio heads used with little regard to the talent's help history. Wow, how stigma was a big part of shaming their abused talent that needed to be hidden from the general public and still persists today.
Learning about Wallace Reid's story: addiction to morphine that was not his fault really touched me. Kudos to Dorothy Davenport who tried in her own way to get efficient help for her beloved and Dorothy was trying to destigmatize what happened to Wallace Reid.
Thank you for a vlog I never saw before but is a part of my history too. I am ashamed of the cruelty Hollywood bestowed onto their incredible talents to make another buck.

    Lovely video. Thanks Jordan.
Wallace Reid was a really a good looking man and a nice actor. Such a sad end and a real shame that at the nobody at the studio intervened. They were responsible for getting him addicted and finished him off.
They did terrible things to Judy Garland getting addicted to drugs and over working her and then threw her away every time she had a nervous breakdown.
    It's a cruel world.

I've been using an S8 for the past two weeks. It's a good phone, but be sure to install a glass screen protector and a case. You can record video in 1080p60 and in 4K. Even though it is "water resistant" (not water proof) I'd recommend not intentionally placing it in water, as some people have said the USB C charging port may not work afterwards.

Very nice Jordan.I enjoy your videos,.Love seeing Jaw and appreciate your upbeat attitude. What I wanna know is when will The Valley of the Giants EVER air (come on TCM) or be released to dvd? That's the movie WR was injured on and became a morphine addict. And sadly as mentioned in your wonderful piece here died too young. The film itself was considered lost for like 90 YEARS and returned w/ other "lost" films to the US archives from Russia.I saw a news segment on this from around 2010.It was going to be digitally transfered w/ the other films and supposedly translated back w/ English title cards.Does anyone have ANY more info on this film's POSSIBLE airing/release.It's been 7 years since it was found/returned.Again Jordan, keep up the great work!

Love to you & Jah! Great music choice! Very surf punky! What a hamdsome fella! Very sad. It's also a shame that these old houses weren't revered and historically funded and protected. I hate when people come in and tear down older houses and consider them obsolete and insignificant. It has been happening a lot where I live, and what these people don't understand and what the city doesn't understand, esp. where I live, is that when you tear these older places down, you are taking the charm away from an area. Sooner or later, it just looks like anywhere USA. How boring!

I have two chiweenies and they are awesome dogs. When I was younger I never thought I would have a small breed dog but turns out they are awesome dogs. They may be small but definitely have a big heart of a warrior.
